from time to time i post things i've had in my notes intending to write more fully arranged pieces, and haven't so they find their way here, as do letters to the local electronic fishwrap. here is some of those notes made 'solid';

Before Zionists invaded Palestine in the beginning of the last century there were no terrorists’ attacks by Arabs anywhere I can discover.
“A man dies when he refuses to stand up for that which is right. A man dies when he refuses to stand up for justice. A man dies when he refuses to take a stand for that which is true.” Martin Luther King Jr
Buildings illegal settlements in occupied Palestinian territory aren’t the only war crime Israeli leaders have committed. For just one example among many, in 2014, Israel invaded Gaza and killed more than 2,000 Palestinians, the majority of them civilians: collective punishment. Nearly 10,000 Palestinians were wounded, more than 2,000 of them children. Tens of thousands of Palestinians lost their homes and infrastructure was severely damaged. Numerous schools, U.N. places of refuge, hospitals, ambulances and mosques were intentionally targeted.
Investigate the Sampson option: Two ways to be deceived; accept the lie or refuse to accept the truth. Repeat the lie often enough and it becomes the accepted truth.
The Anne Frank Center demands President Trump “deliver a prime-time nationally televised speech, live from the Oval Office, on how you intend to combat not only Antisemitism and Islamophobia and other rising forms of hate”. Why doesn’t the Anne Frank Center seem concerned about the Islamophobia running rampant in the state of Israel? Surely apartheid, walls, occupation, home demolitions, and cemetery desecrations are not part of the world of which Anne Frank dreamed.
A Jewish cemetery has been vandalized. According to news reports, some 75-100 headstones were knocked over at the Mount Carmel cemetery in Philadelphia. Desecration of a cemetery is a despicable act, one wonders if any of these people bothered to voice their concerns over the desecration and paving of a Muslim cemetery in Jerusalem. A plan to build a Museum of Tolerance on part of the cemetery grounds, announced in 2004, aroused much controversy and faced several stop work orders before being given final approval in July 2011.
Most of another large Muslim cemetery in Jerusalem was bulldozed and converted into a parking lot in 1964 and a public lavatory was also built on the cemetery grounds. Graves were completely destroyed or had their tombstones removed by vandals in January 2011. One night in June 2011, about 100 gravestones in an intact part of the cemetery were destroyed by Israeli bulldozers. Local media and activists showed the bulldozers pulling out quickly after realizing they were being filmed; Israeli officials made no comment on the incident. Later that same year, fifteen gravestones in the cemetery were spray painted red with racist slogans reading “Death to the Arabs”, as well as “price tag”.
Disrespect invites disrespect. Violence incites violence. When the powerful use their position to bully others, we all lose.
It’s all opposed to what I know of Jewish culture but now questioning Zionism makes you a kapo, a traitor. Jews who question bad policies are called self-hating Jews. It’s insane and, of course it’s the last resort of tyrants.
Beware of any “chosen people” for what could be more supremacist or racist? Such a concept, seriously embraced, allows any man, tribe or nation to enslave loot or murder with righteousness.
They’ve been selling nonsense about “a two-state solution: a negotiated settlement that leads to a safe and secure Israel living alongside a viable and sovereign Palestinian state” for decades and they know full well that it won’t happen without forcing measures. International law has spoken and waits to be implemented. If world powers respect the rule of law they must apply it without prejudice. The international community’s conniving inaction has allowed Israel to establish enough “facts on the ground” to make its illegal occupation permanent. Note also the crude bias: “a safe and secure Israel living alongside a viable and sovereign Palestinian state”. No safety and security for Palestine, just threadbare viability. The Jews, who suffered persecution during the forties within a few years of liberation from the death camps inflicted atrocities on Palestinians in the new State of Israel and continue to do so daily in the West Bank and Gaza.
