every day i run across items along these lines and they illustrate that the thin blue line isn't always what we're told it is;
On Monday evening in Houston, a dozen armed men broke into the home of Dennis Tuttle and Rhogena Nicholas, a middle-aged couple who had lived in the house at 7815 Harding Street for at least two decades. The first man through the door, who was armed with a shotgun, used it to kill one of the couple’s dogs. Tuttle responded to the home invasion by grabbing a revolver and shooting the man with the shotgun, who collapsed on a sofa in the living room. As Nicholas tried to disarm the intruder, his accomplices shot her. Tuttle returned fire, and by the end of the shootout he and his wife were both dead. Four of the assailants were hit by gunfire, while a fifth injured his knee.
Many people will be reassured to learn that the men who stormed into the house on Harding Street were police officers serving a drug warrant. I am not one of those people. Let me explain why, starting with some fishy aspects of the official police account and ending with the immorality of responding to peaceful, voluntary transactions with violence.
At a press conference on Monday night, Houston Police Chief Art Acevedo initially said the address of the raid, which began around 5 p.m., was in the 7800 block of Hardy Street, about 12 miles from the actual location. Acevedo said “Hardy Street” three times, and he seemed to be reading the address from a stack of papers. By the end of the press conference, he was saying “Harding Street.” Which address was on the search warrant? I am waiting to hear back from the Houston Police Department on that point.*
Acevedo said the the plainclothes narcotics cops serving the warrant “announced themselves as Houston police officers while simultaneously breaching the front door.” Meanwhile, uniformed officers waiting in or near a “marked police unit” outside the house “hit the siren and hit the lights so they knew that police officers were there.” Maybe that’s true, but it is possible that Tuttle did not hear the siren or did not connect it to the men bursting into his house. It is also plausible that the officers’ announcement, which by Acevedo’s account happened at the same moment that they were knocking down the door, did not register amid the noise, confusion, and shotgun blasts.

Way back when the West was pressuring the apartheid government to commit suicide on behalf of its people, they did a remarkable thing. They sequestered their nuclear program, making sure the information and material would not fall into the hands of whatever came after apartheid. It was remarkable, because no other state has voluntarily abandoned its program for the good of the world. Governments just don’t do that, but the South Africans did and a huge potential problem down the line was averted.
The reason this is worth thinking about is there are other unstable states, with lots of military technology. Pakistan is an obvious example. There is a better than even chance they have sold nuclear technology to other Muslim governments. They have most certainly been working with North Korea. Israel has nuclear weapons and they have advanced delivery systems. These are two countries that could fall into chaos or have their government overthrown. The judge might also have thrown out the case on the grounds of selective prosecution. James Clapper while serving as Director of National Intelligence lied to Congress under oath and suffered no consequences, and Hillary Clinton has clearly broken the law and lied about it.
Today judges permit unethical behavior by prosecutors that deprives defendants of a fair trial, because judges don’t want the bother of trials any more than prosecutors do. Consequently, according to official statistics 97% of federal criminal cases are settled by a defendent pleaing guilty to a charge negotiated by his attorney and a prosecutor. As the charge is a negotiated or made-up one, most people in prison are there for confessing to crimes that never occurred.
Prosecutors, now that they are no longer bound by constraints of legal integrity, often fabricate a case against a person in order to force the person to give false testimony against the prosecutor’s real target. This is what Mueller’s cases against Cohen, Manafort, and Roger Stone are. Trump is the target, not Cohen, Manafort, and Stone. In addition, prosecutors string out the investigation so long that they force the target to use up his net worth fighting off an indictment. Then when the indictment arrives, there is no money left for lawyers, which adds to the pressure to “cooperate.” If Trump were a fighting man, he would pardon Cohen, Manafort, and Stone, reimburse them out of the Justice (sic) Department’s budget for their legal expenses, and have Mueller arrested for sedition and plotting to overthrow the duly elected President of the United States. This would be hypocritical as Trump himself is plotting to overthrow the duly elected president of Venezuela.

On March 12, 2013, in a hearing of the United States Senate Committee on Intelligence, Senator Ron Wyden asked Clapper, “Does the NSA collect any type of data at all on millions or hundreds of millions of Americans?”
Clapper responded, “No, sir.”
Wyden asked “It does not?”
Clapper said, “Not wittingly. There are cases where they could inadvertently, perhaps, collect, but not wittingly.”
On June 5, 1963, the Guardian
published secret surveillance documents leaked by Edward Snowden.
According to Wikipedia, these included “a top secret order showing that
the NSA had collected phone records from over 120 million Verizon
subscribers.”
Obviously, neither Clapper nor anyone
else within America’s deep state could have anticipated that such
records would ever see the light of day. Clapper must have believed that
his lie to Congress was going to be preserved forever. But then Snowden
came along and revealed the truth.
According to Wikipedia, “The following
day, Clapper acknowledged that the NSA collects telephony metadata on
millions of Americans’ telephone calls.”
It was clear that Clapper had lied to Congress, under oath. Again, from Wikipedia:
Representative Justin Amash became the first congressman to openly accuse Director Clapper of criminal perjury, calling for his resignation. In a series of tweets he stated: “It now appears clear that the director of national intelligence, James Clapper, lied under oath to Congress and the American people,” and “Perjury is a serious crime … [and] Clapper should resign immediately,” U.S. Senator Rand Paul (R-KY) said “The director of national intelligence, in March, did directly lie to Congress, which is against the law.” Paul later suggested that Clapper might deserve prison time for his testimony.

For nearly six full weeks, 29-year-old Matt Crull said he sat inside a Florida jail for a crime he didn’t commit.
The charge was trafficking heroin, according to CBS12. It came with a steep potential punishment and bond, which frightened Crull, who said an officer mistook laundry detergent for heroin.
“(It’s) very surreal when you’re sitting in jail with a half a million dollars bond,” Crull told WPBF25, “and you can’t go anywhere knowing that you didn’t do wrong.
“In the past, when I have gone to jail, it’s been something where I knew I wasn’t going to be there forever,” Crull said, according to WPTV. “It’s a lot different than going to jail and the charge of trafficking of heroin carries a penalty of 25 years in prison.”

Snyder said they “couldn’t find anything credible with what O’Leary stated” and freed the 11 people, including Crull, who had been accused of possessing drugs, as reported by CBS12.
Now, Crull has a message for the officer whose arrest stole weeks of his life away.

George Orwell in his novel “1984” spoke of what he called
doublethink. Doublethink uses “logic against logic” and “repudiates morality
while laying claim to it”. Doublethink, doesn’t allow for the contradictions
that can plague conscience. In this Big Lie the world is black and white, good
and evil, righteous and unrighteous. The Big Lie allows believers to take the
comfort they’re desperately seeking; in their own moral superiority at the very

The UN had no business partitioning Palestine or handing over more than half the
territory to a minority of intruders for a state of their own without even
consulting the native Palestinians. Israel’s membership of the UN in 1949 was
conditional on the new state complying with UN Resolution 181, which included a
guarantee of the rights of minorities and religious rights, including free
access to and the preservation of holy places, and the creation of an economic
union between the two states; a custom union, joint monetary system, joint
administration of main services, and equal access to water and energy
resources. It also required Israel’s
compliance with Resolution 194 which called on Israel to allow Palestinian
refugees to return to their homes. Israel has never fulfilled its obligations
so should have been kicked out of the UN.
Zionism, the political form of the Jewish religion, began
moving its advocates to Palestine
in the early part of the last century. Soon after arriving they began attacking
the native Palestinians. This gradually escalated until the end of WW2, when
more European Jewish refugees arrived leading to what we see today.
In an operation begun the day before Israel declared
statehood in 1948 much of the Arab population was driven from their homes, and
many were murdered in the streets, their homes looted. Many Arabs were forced
into officially-designated ghettoes, and the Jews were given “legal” title to
what had been Palestinian property. Palestinians are described as “terrorists” but
they’re victims of a great “ethnic cleansing”. Israel removed 750,000 Palestinians.
There was some hope, before the 1967 war, that Israel and the remaining Palestinians could
coexist side by side: the Israeli occupation in the wake of Israel’s
stunning victory changed that. A creeping “Nazi-like mentality” can be seen throughout
Israel
which essentially became a dictatorship the moment it decided to rule millions
of Palestinians who are prisoners in their own land. The Israeli colonization
of Palestine looks like the genocide against
American Indians: Gaza and the West
Bank are two big reservations.
Apartheid exists in states that enforce laws and policies
that discriminate between people on the basis of race or religion, and this is
true in Israel as well as in the occupied West Bank and Gaza Strip.
It’s clear from the writings of Zionist leaders that they
understood the effects of their activities from the beginning. Theodore Herzl,
the movement’s founder, confided in his diary that the indigenous Palestinians
would have to be “spirited across the border discreetly”. David Ben-Gurion,
Israel’s George Washington, was clear: “We must expel the Arabs and take their
places”.
This was always the logic of Zionism, a religious
nationalism that claims God promised the Jewish people the land “from the Nile
to the Euphrates”. Accomplishing this goal, requiring
military conquest, was hidden by early Zionists, who painted a picture of a
happy socialistic union of Jewish and native Arab cultures that would make the
desert bloom. It was the Zionist equivalent of the “they’ll shower us with rose
petals” argument neocons made as they created the Iraq war. This fantasy gave way to realism
as Arab resisted their removal, and the horrors of the Nakba, ethnic cleansing,
became apparent; Israel became a dictatorship in the 1948 dispossession and
slaughter which made the Jewish state possible: Zionism is religious
nationalism built on colonization, conquest, and expulsion of indigenous
peoples.
We have gotten used to the sight of Israel conducting a shooting-gallery “war” in
the open air prison that is Gaza.
There’s something new about their recent state terrorism. The Israeli
leadership’s reversal of all moral and international legal standards in its
conduct of their “wars” looks as if they enjoy the killing of innocents, eagerly
creating their own brand of pogroms.

to the emotions of “consumers”. Most supporters of Israel don’t care to know the
truth, which would force them to examine their own self-delusions about Zionist

The ‘pro-Israel lobby’ is the most powerful group influencing
“our government” today. Israeli power over American Middle East policy has led
to the Empire’s invasions of Iraq, Syria and Libya; the economic boycott and
blockade of Iran; breakup of Sudan; and bombing Somalia. This has flooded Europe with refugees.
Israeli power in the Empire operates through various
political tools in assorted locations. The pro-Israel media moguls at the
Washington Post, Wall Street Journal, the New York Times and all the TV
networks unconditionally defend Israel’s bombing, removal and repression of
Palestinians while demonizing any Arab or Muslim states which oppose its
brutality, frequently calling for the Empire to impose sanctions and/or to
attack Israel’s critics.
The cost of the wars has been expensive for you and more so
for the targets: Over a quarter million physical and mental casualties among America’s
military; trillion’s of dollars and counting in military expenditures crippling
America’s economy and a vast and growing army of Islamist and nationalist

Back in the early days of mankind,
warriors would paint their faces to intimidate their enemies on the
field of battle. This example serves as a clear indicator that
psychological warfare is just as old as the conventional one. It’s the

is it any wonder that charging ranks of men would be shouting at the top
of their lungs to render the defending side weakhearted for centuries.
However, psychological warfare has only

London managed to spread all across the globe was the notion that German
soldiers would collect their fallen comrades along
with the bodies of their enemies to produce stearine and feed pigs. This
disgusting lie was only debunked in 1925 by the American newspaper
Times Dispatch that would state that the story that made the rest of the
world hate Germans turned out to be a blatant lie. The House of Commons
had to make an official statement admitting that this whole story was
a fake that British intelligence agents devised to allow Britain to get
an upper hand in the war against Germany.
It’s only logical to
assume that a century later we know better than to believe British media
sources that are still busy fabricating propaganda, but nothing has
really changed. Even though London has recently been trying to discredit
Russia instead of Germany, there’s no real way of knowing who will
become the next target of those poisonous lies.
It’s hardly a surprise that Britain’s prime minister Theresa May in her Christmas message to the UK armed forces expressed her gratitude
to British pilots and sailors for defending the shores of the kingdom
from the “Russian invasion.” Of course, it was of little importance that
Russia hasn’t even tried to invade anyone last year.
At least the UK had the decency to
recognize that Russia’s runaway oligarch Alexander Perepilichnyy died of
natural causes, after blaming his death on Moscow for years on end.
It had no more luck blaming the protests
of the yellow vests movement in France on alleged Russia’s meddling, as
the French security services were quick to debunk these lies in the
publication of Journal du Dimanche last December. It’s curious that
prior to this statement freelance journalists working for the BBC were
complaining of their editors forcing them to come up with at least some
semblance of evidence of Russian meddling in the French protests, as
they “wanted blood”.

was staged in a bid to disrupt the FIFA world cup in Russia. During that
