Compton, CA — In the land of the free, revenue collectors, otherwise known as police officers, are tasked with the enforcement of arbitrary traffic “laws.” Many of these laws are designed — not to keep society safe — but to extract revenue from citizens to fund government operations. As TFTP has reported over the years, police are authorized to use violence to enforce these laws and will escalate their use of force to potentially deadly actions to ensure compliance. As the following video shows, police have no problem resorting to deadly force over parking tickets and window tint.

Last month, 30-year-old Travis Elster was harming no one as he waited for his mother inside a takeout restaurant. However, the fact that he was harming no one was of no concern to the two LAPD officers who targeted him for revenue collection and harassment.

When officers approach Elster, one officer tells him to roll down his window as another gets in front of his vehicle to block him from leaving. The reason for the stop? Illegal parking. However, Elster was not “parked” at all. He was in gear with his foot on the brake which makes the entire alleged premise for the stop unlawful. As you watch the officers escalate the situation, however, it becomes entirely clear that illegal parking was not at all one of their priorities.

“Roll down the window? What’s up, bro?” the officer says.

“Just waiting for my mom, sir,” Elster replies. A person can be seen standing at the counter of the takeout restaurant where Elster is idling.

Elster then offers to pull his car out of the way, to fix the alleged illegal parking job. If these officers truly served the people of Compton, this stop would have ended here and they would have gone on their way. But their job is not to serve, it is to extort and escalate.

“Can you turn off the car for me? You have dark windows,” the officer says, defying all logic as to the original reason he stopped Elster in the first place. If the officer really cared about illegal parking, why would he force Elster to remain parked there?..........read and watch more......

The American Israel Public Affairs Committee (AIPAC) responded that “any suggestion that Israel is, or is at risk of becoming, an apartheid state is offensive and inappropriate.” The ADL said Kerry’s remarks were “inappropriate.”

At the time, Kerry was pushing hard for a “two-state” solution as the only viable remaining alternative for Middle East peace. Israel would either wind up being a unitary state with second class Palestinian citizens or a state that no longer had the capacity “to be a Jewish state” Kerry claimed. In recent weeks President Biden has been saying some rather mean-spirited things about Russia’s President Vladimir Putin. Now Russian state sources are alleging that Washington under the Biden administration is ramping up military aid to Ukraine. This comes after the media observed the Ocean Glory, a US cargo ship, began delivering 350 tonnes of military equipment, including tactical vehicles, at Ukraine’s Odessa port. Ukraine’s Dumskaya news agency said the American vessel carried at least 35 US military humvees for Ukrainian national forces.

Adding Ukraine to NATO and the EU is a long-held dream of neocons like Victoria Nuland and neoliberals like Biden.This is also important to those supporting the World Economic Forum’s desire to expand the EU and encircle Russia.

They feel such an action would disrupt any dreams of Eurasian integration which could resist their strategy to reshape the way the world is governed. Putin’s foreign policy, coupled with efforts to rebuild the Russian military, has been part of an effort by the former KGB officer to boost Russia’s standing on the world stage.

As an example, consider the highly orchestrated show trial of Officer Chauvin accused of George Floyd’s death currently underway.  Yesterday, the second day of Officer Chauvin’s trial was “eye-witness day.”  Eye-witness Donald Williams told the prosecutor, Steve Schleicher, that “I believe I witnessed a murder.”  Eye-witness Alyssa Funari said, “I was upset because there was nothing that we could do as bystanders except watch them take this man’s life in front of our eyes.”  Eye-witness Darnella Frazier said, “When I look at George Floyd I look at, look at my dad. I look at my brothers, cousins, uncles, because they are all Black. I have a Black father, I have a Black brother, I have Black friends. Steven Donziger has been detained at home since August 2019, the result of a Kafkaesque legal battle stemming from his crusade on behalf of Indigenous Amazonians

any of us will have felt the grip of claustrophobic isolation over the past year, but the lawyer Steven Donziger has experienced an extreme, very personal confinement as a pandemic arrived and then raged around him in New York City.

On Sunday, Donziger reached his 600th day of an unprecedented house arrest that has resulted from a sprawling, Kafkaesque legal battle with the oil giant Chevron. Donziger spearheaded a lengthy crusade against the company on behalf of tens of thousands of Indigenous people in the Amazon rainforest whose homes and health were devastated by oil pollution, only to himself become, as he describes it, the victim of a “planned targeting by a corporation to destroy my life”.

Since August 2019, Donziger has been restricted to his elegant Manhattan apartment, a clunky court-mandated monitoring bracelet he calls “the black claw” continuously strapped to his left ankle. He cannot even venture into the hallway, or to pick up his mail. Exempted excursions for medical appointments or major school events for his 14-year-old son require permission days in advance. An indoor bike sits by the front door in lieu of alternative exercise options.

“There’s no comparison to quarantine because I can’t even go outside for a walk. If my kid is sick I can’t go to the drug store to get a prescription,” Donziger said. “I never truly understood freedom until I was put in this situation.”.......read more..........
