three notable stupid cop stories in one day and this one is quite curious;
Kennesaw, GA — An Army veteran is now suing three Kennesaw police officers he says lied on their police reports in order to charge him with a misdemeanor and a felony after the former soldier disarmed and neutralized a man who was threatening him and several others with a gun. Matthew Solon was arrested along with his attacker on June 26, 2017.
He’s now suing the officers he claims fabricated evidence against him in order to execute a retaliatory arrest.
Solon says he and some friends were enjoying a night on the town at Mazzy’s sports bar in Kennesaw. In the parking lot of the bar, a man by the name of Dwight Cooper came up to him, brandished a firearm, and threatened to use it against the group. The quick thinking veteran says he relied on his military training to subdue Cooper (by pummeling him), disarming him, and calling police. He even unloaded the firearm and rendered it useless and then provided medical attention to his attacker. Everything he did was heroic, lawful, and outright impressive.
When police arrived, to Solon’s surprise, they arrested him as well, saying he disobeyed orders by police and struck Cooper in the head with the firearm, pistol whipping him, “so he would stay down“ (reportedly a quote from Officer Joshua Hale‘s official police report). Being a supporter of our Law Enforcement community does not mean that we give license to destroy a person’s home without consequence.
Special Weapons and Tactics Teams (SWAT) have increasingly gone beyond the pale to destroy homes and buildings with little to no reason for that level of destruction.
When it happens, we expect that Law Enforcement Department to take responsibility for their over-zealousness, as we expect the average Joe to take responsibility for his behavior and actions.
However, recent cases show that the situations are getting worse, not better. And the courts are backing up the fanatical destruction of these SWAT teams.

State Police were called to a home in Hurley, near Silver City, after reports of neighbors fighting. Police say Timmy Vick fired a shot at officers and went inside a home, owned by his mother.

there is a segment of 'our' society that worships cops no matter what they do;

As the National Center for Women and Policing points out, two studies have found that at least 40% of police officer families experience domestic violence. It happens so often that it is not even reported on in the media any more unless the case is utterly horrifying — like the one below.
A Vincennes Police Officer and his wife were arrested over the weekend after it was discovered that they were essentially torturing a child. Thirty-seven year old Vincennes Police Officer Robert Hammond and his wife, 32-year old Kristi Hammond, were booked into the Knox County Jail Saturday. They are now facing charges of criminal confinement of a child and neglect of a dependent. Hammond is also facing an additional single count of Battery.
The cop and his wife are accused of locking Kristi Hammond’s daughter, Robert’s stepdaughter outside at night like a dog. The couple would not let the girl inside the home and she was forced to sleep outside all night long on multiple occasions on the wooden deck. But that’s not all.
According to the court documents, the couple is accused of using duct tape to tie the child down on multiple occasions while beating her face and head with a wooden spoon. During the beatings, they would duct tape her mouth too, so she couldn’t talk. You cannot make this stuff up.
Court documents show that the child’s actual father suspected the abuse as far back a June and reported it to the Indiana State Police and child protective services. Police say that Kristie admitted to using the wooden spoon on the child which left bruises on her face, arms, head, and buttocks.

who ever thought cops in schools would be a good idea? this week alone i've seen what must be a half dozen of these sort of situations;
A New Mexico cop has resigned after being caught on camera slamming a sobbing schoolgirl to the ground — during a fight sparked by her taking too much milk from the cafeteria.
Shocking footage shows officer Zachary Christensen violently grappling with the 11-year-old middle school girl in Farmington as she cried and begged him to stop.
Christensen later said he tried to arrest her because she “took more milk than she was supposed to” and threw some on the ground, according to KOB.
His bodycam footage released by Farmington police showed the girl initially calmly pleading with a male school employee to be allowed to leave, brushing against his arm as she walked through the doors.
Christensen marched out after the girl — yanking off her bag as he yelled repeatedly, “You’re done!”
Another camera angle showed him pushing the girl into a wall — then lifting her left leg to slam her to the ground as she cried and begged him to “get off of me.”
