It’s important to avoid fake news, Russian media or conspiracy theorists. We must only trust those reputable news outlets who tell us that neoliberalism is working fine, that US foreign policy is perfectly sane, and that protests are only happening in Hong Kong and nowhere else.

The difference between state media and western media is that in state media the government controls what information the public is given about what’s going on in the world in order to prevent political dissent, whereas in western media this is instead done by billionaires.

Any attempt to understand the world which fails to take into account the fact that extremely powerful people are pouring massive amounts of money and resources into manipulating your understanding of the world will necessarily result in a distorted worldview.

Whenever news media reports unsubstantiated assertions from anonymous sources in government agencies, just mentally insert “Here is something the government told us to tell you:” into the beginning of the report, because that’s all they’re doing.

Palestinian social media erupted over the weekend as people expressed their outrage over a leaked video showing and Israeli border police officer shooting a Palestinian in the back as the man walked away from the officers, his hands raised in the air.

The video, taken last year, was leaked over the weekend and broadcast to the public on Saturday by Israel’s Channel 13.

I have not posted one of these in some time. I have been less than motivated as of late, and I have also been fighting a general foul and dark disposition – hence my infrequent posting, as TBP is not a place where rainbows and unicorns and spring flowers are the norm.

1. I think I miss my good friend Stucky. I hope he is ok, and hope the same for his family. He has long been the straw that stirs Admin’s drink, and the irreverence he brings to this monkeyfest is sorely missed.

2. I think this secret impeachment debacle is a disgrace. I think it is nothing more than an attempted coup. And I think that the idiots behind it best be careful, as unintended consequences could be severe.

3. I think there is an insurmountable divide between the left and normal people. I am not convinced there is any way to overcome this divide without crisis.

4. I think if the people are not careful, they will elect an idiot. I do not admire Trump, and find him unpalatable in many instances. But Warren, Beto, etc., are idiots. Oz just barely avoided electing a nation killer recently. But it was a close run thing. These people want nothing more than power, and will do anything and say anything to get it. A heavily pregnant woman used an AR-15 to kill a home intruder after two masked men entered her home in Florida, pistol whipped her husband and violently grabbed their daughter.

Jeremy King, 34, was at his home in Lithia, Florida with his 31-year-old wife when the two armed men stormed in last Wednesday at about 9pm before pointing a gun at his head and demanding money. 

Police say the suspects grabbed the couple’s 11-year-old daughter as King tried to explain they didn’t have anything that was worth giving them.

King told Bay News 9 that one of the men then started pistol-whipping him as the other kicked him repeatedly in the head.

His wife, who is eight months pregnant, was in the back bedroom at the time and looked out to see what was going on.

King said one of the men fired shots at his wife.

She quickly grabbed their AR-15 and started shooting at the armed intruders.

‘When he came toward the back door in her line of sight, she clipped him,’ King said of the moment his wife returned fire.

‘He made it from my back door to roughly 200 feet out in the front ditch before the AR did its thing.’

King’s wife only fired one round from the AR-15, which struck the suspect as he tried to flee.

When deputies arrived on the scene shortly after, they found the suspect dead in the ditch.

The other gunman ran off after the fatal shot was fired and investigators are still trying to locate him.

Now, if Trump imperiled national security by delaying the transfer of the weapons, was not Obama guilty of a greater crime against our national security by denying the weapons to Ukraine altogether?

The essence of Trump’s crime, it is said, was that he demanded a quid pro quo. He passed word to incoming President Volodymyr Zelensky that if he did not hold a press conference to announce an investigation of Joe Biden and son Hunter, he, Zelensky, would not get the arms we had promised, nor the Oval Office meeting that Zelensky requested.

Again, where is the body of the crime?

Did Zelensky hold the press conference Trump demanded? No.

Did Zelensky announce Ukraine was investigating the Bidens? No.
