University graduate student that he wanted her to move out of her
apartment because her legally owned firearms made some of her roommates
uncomfortable.
“Since it’s clear that Leyla wants to
keep her firearms, it would be best for all parties if she finds another
place to live,” Dave Lewis, president of Avid Management, said in an email to the household obtained by the Washington Free Beacon.
The request that the student, Leyla
Pirnie, move out came after her roommates searched her room while she
was not home and found her firearms. That prompted one of the roommates
to email Lewis requesting he verify that Pirnie was in compliance with applicable firearms laws.
“We discussed with Leyla that all of us
are uncomfortable with having firearms in the house, and that their
presence causes anxiety and deprives us of the quiet enjoyment of the
premise to which we are entitled,” the roommate wrote to Lewis.
Pirnie said she feels her roommates violated her privacy and now they and her landlord are trying to violate her rights.
“A few weeks ago, I came back to my
apartment from a weekend trip and was confronted by one of my roommates
who asked if I had guns in the house,” she told the Free Beacon.
“After being told far too many lies to count, my roommates finally
admitted that they searched my closet, under my bed, and all of my
drawers in pursuit of finding my guns.”
While she was given several different
explanations for why the roommates entered and searched her room, the
24-year-old said she felt her political beliefs and where she is from

intelligence bogeymen—might prompt reexamination of intelligence and
military budgets and the foreign policy that supports them. Insolvency
will strangle the US’s exorbitantly expensive interventionism. It will
be the first real curb on the intelligence complex since World War II,
but don’t except any proactive measures beforehand from those charged

Conspiracy theories, a term popularized by the CIA to denigrate Warren Commission skeptics, are often proved correct. However, trying to determine the truth behind intelligence agency conspiracies is a time and energy-consuming task, usually producing much frustration and little illumination. Instead, as Caitlin Johnstone recently observed, we’re better off fighting on moral and philosophical grounds the intelligence complex and the rest of the government’s depredations that are in plain sight.

In particular, the Preventing Destabilization of Iraq Act calls on the US president to impose sanctions on any foreign people he determines knowingly commit “a significant act of violence that has the direct purpose or effect of — (1) threatening the peace or stability of Iraq or the Government of Iraq; (2) undermining the democratic process in Iraq; or (3) undermining significantly efforts to promote economic reconstruction and political reform in Iraq or to provide humanitarian assistance to the Iraqi people.” Further, the bill charges the US Secretary of State to determine if listed individuals should be sanctioned and if people connected to certain organizations should be considered terrorists or sanctioned. In other words, the bill calls for ramping up proven destructive policies for reshaping Iraq.
Also included in the bill is a call for action that would help push for escalating the US government’s destabilization project in Iran. Watergate had tragic Shakespearean overtones, with Nixon as King Lear, but Russia-Gate — perhaps the last gate America goes through on its giant slalom run to collapse — is but a Chinese Fire Drill writ large. Behind the flimsy scrim of Russia collusion accusations stands a bewildering maze of criminal mischief by a matrix of federal agencies that lost control of their own dark operation to meddle in the 2016 election. The US intel community (CIA, NSA, FBI, etc), with the Department of Justice, all colluded with the Hillary Clinton campaign and the intel agencies of the UK and Australia, to derail Mr. Trump as a stooge of Russia and, when he shocked them by getting elected, mounted a desperate campaign to cover their asses knowing he had become their boss. Then, we’ll have a fine constitutional crisis as the two sides vie for some sort of adjudication. Who, for instance, will adjudicate the monkey business that is already on-the-record involving misdeeds in the Department of Justice itself? Will the DOJ split into two contesting camps, each charging the other? How might that work? Does the Acting Attorney General Mr. Whitaker seek indictments against figures such as Bruce Ohr, Andrew McCabe, Peter Strzok, et al. Will he also rope in intel cowboys John Brennan and James Clapper? 2 – Unlike the misnamed 1994 “assaults weapons ban,” this dictatorial decree prohibits the possession of things that lots of people already legally own, and requires people to destroy or surrender them.
3 – This is a violation of the Fifth Amendment, in that in requires people to destroy or hand over their own previously “legal” property, without compensation.
4 – This is a violation of the Ninth and Tenth Amendments, since nothing in the Constitution gives the federal government any jurisdiction over such matters. (Of course, that is true of most federal “legislation,” but Trump is continuing the totalitarian practice of pretending the state can do whatever the hell it wants.)
5 – This is a violation of the Second Amendment, as it constitutes federal legislation restricting the ability of the people to keep and bear arms. (Again, this certainly isn’t the first example of that, but Trump is continuing the authoritarian bullshit.)
