Nothing that Israel does in its affairs would be of quite such great concern to the world were it not for the fact that Israel drags along, willy-nilly, the world’s greatest power, much like some impressive-looking but feeble-willed, dazed parent stumbling along behind a screaming toddler demanding yet another goody. The threat of serious wars has grown exponentially in recent decades precisely owing to this fact, and not just wars but wars reflecting neither justice nor principle, the aggressive reordering of other people’s affairs by sweeping them into the pit of hell. The so-called war on terror is just part of the fallout of millions of the world’s powerless and abused watching helplessly and without hope the embarrassing public spectacle.
The terrible bloody war in Iraq was almost exclusively for Israel’s benefit. The Syrian “civil war” is a deliberately-engineered conflict for Israel’s benefit. The coup in Egypt, wiping away the sacrifice of thousands of Egyptians in a revolution for democracy and restoring a junta, again reflects Israel’s interests in the region. The constant threats and needless hardships imposed upon Iran, a country which has no modern history of aggression and which every intelligence service knows has not been working towards nuclear weapons, reflects yet the same interest. Indeed, so determined is the government of Israel to keep this huge country pinned down that it pulled out all stops in using its immense congressional influence trying to embarrass the President and prevent a sensible international agreement with Iran. And, more ominously, Netanyahu has threatened countless times to attack Iran, knowing full well that the United States would be forced to come to his assistance when Iran struck back, as it would have every right to do.
But it is not just constant wars and threats of wars, the liberal use of extreme force against the interests of others, which make modern Israel perhaps the greatest threat to peace on the planet. The effects of America’s unprecedented and inappropriate relationship with Israel have corroded badly the values and meaning of American society. America’s democratic government, always rather fragile at best, is literally becoming hollowed out. Today America copies a great deal of the ugly garrison state practices of Israel: aggressive and intrusive intelligence, anti-democratic laws, police and security being given close to a free hand in attacking human rights, secret prisons, and even extrajudicial killing on a large scale. The President speaks of governing by “presidential order” rather than by legislation, the intelligence establishment ignores the Constitution and the courts, the “homeland” security establishment heavily arms itself against public disorder, and even military men make the odd public reference to military government in an emergency. Where is the Constitution with its crucial Bill of Rights in all this? Cut in scraps lying on the floor like snippets from a film-editor’s work.
Of course, so far as rights go, Israel never had, nor can it ever have a Bill of Rights, given its peculiar organization and the practices of its garrison-state establishment. Imitating Israel’s practices and adopting its views remove any state automatically from the whole trend of western society since the Enlightenment. Israel’s leaders may speak all they wish about “the Middle East’s only democracy,” but the words are as insincere as television advertising claims for a new mouthwash. Can you have democracy for only one carefully-defined group? Can you have democracy without the restraints of a Bill of Rights upon an abusive majority? Can you have democracy which holds millions in perpetual isolation and subjects them to countless abuses? Can you have democracy where you prefer dealing with juntas and kingdoms to democratic governments in neighboring states? Can you have democracy which constantly threatens war on those who do not threaten it? Can you have democracy which conducts witch-hunts on a grand scale, just re-naming the witches as terrorists? Can you have democracy which interferes in the internal affairs of other democratic states? And, in the end, can you have democracy founded on the Orwellian principle that “all animals are equal, but some are more equal”?

And we don’t know if there is a chapter called “Bait and Switch.” But that’s precisely what Trump perpetrated upon the American people when he crafted a campaign decrying America’s destructive and costly military Middle East involvement—and then, as president, set in motion events seemingly calculated to get us into another war there.
The
president also promised to pull the United States out of the Iranian
nuclear deal. However foolish, it was at least an honest representation
of what his intention. And ultimately he did it. Thus it was possible to
conclude that Trump was sincere on both his resolve to avoid further
Mideast wars and his intention to exit the Iranian deal. Voters could
draw their own conclusions about whether the two campaign promises were
mutually exclusive or not.
But voters had no reason to conclude during the campaign that he would deal with Iran so aggressively as to force a dangerous showdown. Two significant developments suggest Trump’s intentions far surpass his campaign rhetoric. One is the recent ultimatum delivered to Iran by Secretary of State Mike Pompeo. He listed 12 demands on what Iran must do to avoid “unprecedented” economic pressure designed to crush Iran’s ability to play a major role in its home region. The other is a remarkable New Yorker story by Adam Entous detailing how the Trump administration has joined hands with Iran’s regional enemies—Israel, Saudi Arabia, and the United Arab Emirates—to strip Iran of its regional influence.
As Pompeo put it, “Iran will never again have carte blanche to dominate the Middle East.” Of course Iran has not dominated the region in any serious way for centuries, but it does have significant influence there by dint of its size, population, economy, and military. And its geopolitical influence expanded exponentially when America destroyed Iraq’s Sunni regime and removed a major impediment to Iran’s freedom of action.
So now Israel and those Gulf states want to put Iran back in its box, and they want America to supply the muscle. Pompeo demonstrated Trump is prepared to do so with demands that no sovereign nation could accept. As our Dan Larison wrote, they would require Iran “to surrender its foreign policy decision-making to Washington and U.S. clients and to abandon all of the governments and groups that have relied on its support.”
Indeed, they are reminiscent of Austria’s 1914 demands of Serbia after the assassination of Arch-Duke Ferdinand and the aggressive ultimatum delivered to Japan by U.S. Secretary of State Cordell Hull on November 26, 1941. Both were were designed to induce war.
The New Yorker piece leaves no doubt that Trump and his team welcome the new alliance aborning among Israel, the Saudis, and the UAE, pulled together by their fear and animosity directed at Iran. The headline: “How the President, Israel, and the Gulf states plan to fight Iran—and leave the Palestinians and the Obama years behind.” One Trump friend said Netanyahu, mastermind of the anti-Iranian alliance, encountered at the White House a “blank canvas” for his bold brush strokes. This person added: “Israel just had their way with us.”
So America under Trump has become a cat’s paw in a Middle East intrigue that is very likely to lead to war. This is not how he campaigned in 2016, and it is not what the American people want. If Trump doesn’t veer away from this path to war and the result is further Mideast blood and woe, he likely will go down in flames. That would be fitting and proper. the following is part of something i've been working on for a while intending to send to my local electronic fishwrap. there's too much i've got to send there in the space they've alloted me so here it is for you to consider;
We choose to believe things simply because it makes us feel
better. We complain and say ‘Someone ought to do something about that’ but it’s
rarely ourselves that we believe should be the one to act and so we choose ‘leaders’,
who say they’ll fix things for us without any real need for us to get
personally involved. The real conspiracy, the thing that controls people more
than anything, is the belief that has been instilled into them that there are
others more important than them and that they’re just little people who have no
power. That someone else should fix things. The real truth is that it’s the ‘little
people’ in this world who hold all the power. It’s through the labor and effort
of ‘consumers’ that the system is able to function at all, and so it’s the
people who hold all the cards. The problem is that most are unaware they’re
even in the game. If they do ever discover they are, they often don’t know
which side they are on or who on earth they can trust to shine some light on
the rules for them. Once they could turn to the independent media and find some
reasonable answers. But in this ‘age of information’ those days seem to now be
fast disappearing.
“The greatest trick the Devil ever pulled was convincing the
world he didn’t exist.” American elites have spent a very long time convincing
us that there are no elites. The fact is though, every society has an elite and
it’s usually a stable, semi-permanent one. The people in charge tend to stay in
charge. Elites tend to get what they want. One of the benefits of being in
charge is you get to shape the institutions you control. It’s something to keep
in mind when thinking about the war on men or the waves of anti-white agitation
we see in the media. Today’s crazy elite culture is tomorrow’s new normal. The
real reason elites tend to get what they want is they’re smarter, better
socialized and they have greater access to the stock of knowledge relevant to
being in charge. Americans despise the idea of the ruling elite, so those in
charge spend a lot of time pretending they don’t exist. It’s why our ‘democracy’
works so well. The people keep voting for different illusions, but the people
in charge never change. That’s what we’re seeing with hurricane Trump now. The
bad cop/worse cop game we see in our politics isn’t a bug. It’s a feature. The
process of voting has been played by the ruling class such that the results are
fixed. No matter which candidate you choose, you get the same results, because
the candidates are owned by the same people. Behind the mask of sanity and
morality displayed by the Empire there’s a “deep state” moved by an insatiable
thirst for power and uninhibited by any moral conscience or empathy; this
pathological deep state is today in almost complete control of American foreign
policy.
Israel has drawn America into wars which weren’t in their
strategic interest, and which actually jeopardize American national security.
It was true about Iraq, and it’s true about Syria. The Neocons, the
overwhelmingly dominant force in the American deep state are Zionists. America
isn’t controlling Israel’s foreign and colonial policy; it has failed to do so
whenever it tried, and it has now stopped trying. Instead, as Ariel Sharon
famously said one month after 9/11: “We, the Jews, control America, and the
Americans know it.” The very fact that this outrageous statement was quickly
buried makes its point self-evident: Zionist power is the ability to get
non-Jews to stop talking about Jewish power.
Imperial Washington has no regard for honest history: only
its own self-serving narrative and need for enemies and missions to justify $800 billion
per year for the machinery of war and empire.

From 2001 to 2005 there was an ongoing investigation into the Clinton Foundation.
A Grand Jury had been impanelled.
Governments from around the world had donated to the “Charity”.
Yet, from 2001 to 2003 none of those “Donations” to the Clinton Foundation were declared. Now you would think that an honest investigator would be able to figure this out.
