It has been said that hidden truths are unspoken lies. There are plenty of lies in the mainstream news today, whether it is related to politics and politicians, to important events, to war, to economic trickery and deceit, and on and on, but what about the truths that are hidden from view? These are lies as well, but these lies hold dark secrets, as lies of omission are the most sinister of all.

In the distant past, fooling the general population was a more difficult task. People for the most part were more skeptical than today, and could not be bombarded with lies and trickery via a controlling media source. While politicians have always been suspect throughout every period of history, scrutiny of their behavior and policy decisions was more evident in the past than in current times. This is of course due to modern technology and the ability to reach all immediately, but it is also partially due to the massive growth of the welfare state, where most everyone believes they can benefit at the expense of their neighbor, and will ignore the truth for self-greed and agenda consideration. This dynamic has caused a tremendous difference in the attitudes of the masses, which naturally seek the easiest way to gain favor, regardless of the underlying consequences. This has happened because of laziness and apathy, but more importantly to a more recent lack of morality and a collective lessening of intellect.

As much as it irritates me, I look at the mainstream news every day. I do not do this as a matter of self-abuse, but for the sole purpose of understanding what is falsely disguised as real, when in fact it is mostly agenda driven propaganda or false narratives meant to confuse and brainwash the public. Gun control did not become politically acceptable until the Gun Control Act of 1968 signed into law by President Lyndon B. Johnson. The law’s primary focus was to regulate commerce in firearms by prohibiting interstate firearms transfers except among licensed manufacturers, dealers and importers. Today’s gun control advocates have gone much further, calling for an outright ban of what they call assault rifles such as the AR-15. By the way, AR stands for ArmaLite Rifle, which is manufactured by Colt Manufacturing Co. As for being a military assault weapon, our soldiers would be laughed off the battlefield carrying AR-15s.

Let’s look at some FBI statistics on homicide and then you can decide how many homicides would be prevented by a ban on rifles. The FBI lists murder victims by weapon from 2014 to 2018 in their 2018 report on Crime in the United States. It turns out that slightly over 2% (297) out of a total of 14,123 homicides were committed with rifles. A total of 1,515 or 11% of homicides were committed by knives. Four hundred and forty-three people were murdered with a hammer, club or some other bludgeoning instrument. Six hundred seventy-two people were murdered by a hand, foot or fist. US Government regulators have approved a genetically modified cotton variety as a “potential solution to human hunger.” The radical decision is to permit consumption by humans, in addition to animals, of seeds of a GMO cotton developed at Texas A&M University, with no independent long-term testing. It opens grave new concerns about the safety of our food chain. Soon, as a result, the world food chain may well be contaminated with the GMO cottonseeds whose dangers have been simply ignored by authorities .

The USA Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has just approved a new type of GMO cotton for unregulated release. The type, called TAM66274, has been genetically modified supposedly to make the seeds fit for human or animal feed by suppressing the presence of a dangerous toxin in the seed, while allegedly leaving the toxin only in the rest of the cotton plant.

With FDA approval the GMO cottons seeds will now be allowed as food for people or animals. The project has been led by Keerti Rathore, a plant biotechnology protégé of the late Norman Borlaug, at the Texas A&M AgriLife Research Center.

Rathore says the group will now seek approval in other countries starting with Mexico. He calculates that, “There are approximately 10.8 trillion grams of protein locked up in the annual global output of cottonseed. This is enough to meet the basic protein requirements of over 500 million people at a rate of 50 grams of protein per person per day.” He says the GMO cottonseeds can also be used to feed pigs, poultry or farmed fish or shrimp. His group sees it as a major new source of protein for consumption, as well as profit for cotton growers. It is not surprising that Cotton Inc., the US cotton lobby group is sponsoring the GMO project.

Cotton Inc. and Monsanto have a history of cooperation as well. Rathore says for every pound of cotton fiber, the plant produces about 1.6 pounds of seed. The annual global cottonseed production equals about 48.5 million tons. If that can now be turned into cottonseed oil or meal for human and animal consumption and sold, it adds a huge profit boost to cotton producers. The world’s largest purveyor of cotton seeds for planting cotton is Monsanto, now part of Bayer AG.

“The kernels from the safe seed could be ground into a flour-like powder after oil extraction and used as a protein additive in food preparations or perhaps roasted and seasoned as a nutritious snack,” Rathore said.

On October 1 the FDA released its summary of findings for the Texas application which had been made in 2017. That gives the impression the Government researchers were making an intensive testing of the highly controversial issue of whether to permit human consumption of the GMO cotton seeds or not. Far from the case. As the FDA states in their findings of October, 2019, the FDA declaration was simply copied from the tests given them by the producer, Texas A&M and its biotech research group, funded by the US cotton industry group, Cotton Inc.

Highly toxic gossypol

The FDA approval, made with no apparent independent testing of the results given them by the group at the A&M AgriLife Research center, is notable given the fact that cottonseeds contain a highly toxic substance in the seeds known as gossypol. Because of gossypol, previously much of the weight of cotton plants was wasted or usable only for limited animal feed only after special treatment. The seeds were deemed unsuitable for human consumption.

The A&M GMO cotton was modified using what is called RNA interference technology, RNAi, to “silence” a gene that supposedly, again according to its developers, “greatly” reduces gossypol from the cottonseed. Rathore claims to have suppressed the gene of a cotton plant to produce cotton with gossypol in everything but its seeds: “We have eliminated this gossypol from the seed without affecting its levels in other parts of the plant,” said Rathore. “With the toxin removed from the cottonseed, it can potentially feed 500 to 600 million people per year.” Well, almost eliminated it, to be more accurate. The 46-year-old was lauded over the weekend at the Kennedy Center in Washington, D.C., winning the Mark Twain Prize for American Humor at The Kennedy Center. There, he delivered some off-the-cuff remarks as he defended free speech and even comedians who he knows who are “very racist.”

“[I] don’t get mad at ‘em, don’t hate on ‘em,” Chappelle said, USA Today reported. “Man, it’s not that serious. The First Amendment is first for a reason. Second Amendment is just in case the First one doesn’t work out.”

At the award ceremony, Chappelle said,  “I did not write a speech.” Then he said only America “could produce this many comedians,” especially in the polarized political atmosphere that has enveloped the country.

“We got to let some air out of the ball, man,” he said, The Hill reported. “The country’s getting a little tight. It doesn’t feel like it’s ever felt in my lifetime. So tonight I am honored that my colleagues are here in comedy and in music.”

And Chappelle told The Hill he thinks “political correctness has its place,” adding that he doesn’t intend for his comedy to offend anyone.

“We all want to live in a polite society, we just kind of have to work on the levels of coming to an agreement of what that actually looks like,” he said. “I, personally, am not afraid of other people’s freedom of expression. I don’t use it as a weapon. It just makes me feel better. And I’m sorry if I hurt anybody,” Chappelle said, adding, “Yada, yada, ‘everything I’m supposed to say.”

In his latest comedy special “‘Sticks & Stones,” he defends Michael Jackson and Louis C.K., rips R. Kelly, and blasts social media and the PC movements running rampant in the land today.

He even takes aim at Jussie Smollett, the actor who claimed he was attacked by racist and homophobic Trump supporters.

“He was the victim of a racist and homophobic attack,” Chappelle says. “You see, Juicy Smool-yay is gay and he is black, not just French. Oh, it was a crazy story. Apparently, when he was walking down the street late at night, two white men came out of the shadows with MAGA hats on and beat him up, tied a rope around his neck, called him all kind of n***** and put some bleach on him and ran off into the night.

“This s*** was, like, international news. And everybody was furious, especially in Hollywood. It was all over everybody’s Twitter feed and Instagram page. ‘Justice for Juicy’ and all this s***. The whole country was up in arms. We was talking about it all the time on the news and for some reason, African Americans, we were like oddly quiet. We were so quiet about this s*** that the gay community started accusing the African American community of being homophobic for not supporting him.

The Israel lobby in the United States and its counterparts in Europe have been paying particular attention to curtailing the activities of the Boycott, Divestment, and Sanctions movement (BDS). This is because BDS, which is non-violent and based on established human rights principles, is extremely appealing to college students, who will be tomorrow’s leaders. Israel, which promotes its own largely fictional narrative about itself, is reluctant to allow any competing stories about its foundation and current activities, so it has worked hard to exclude any and all criticism of its practices on college campuses and even among students in public high schools.

Unfortunately, many colleges and universities are all too ready to compromise their principles, such as they are, whenever a representative of Israel or of Jewish groups comes calling. A popular line that has proven to be particularly effective is that Jews on campus feel threatened whenever anyone advocates for the Palestinians or Iranians, intended to convey that their civil rights are being violated.

Even if that type of allegation is actually relevant to whether or not one allows free speech and association, one wonders how violated the Palestinians and Iranians must feel when confronted by the endless stream of hostility emanating from the U.S. media and Hollywood as well as from select politicians representing both parties and the White House.

In the most recent manifestation of suppression of views critical of Israel, the federal government’s Department of Education has ordered Duke University and the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill to reorganize the Consortium for Middle East Studies program run jointly by the two colleges based on their failure to include enough “positive” content relating to Christianity and Judaism. The demand came with a threat to suspend federal funding of Title VI Higher Education Act international studies and foreign language grants to the two schools if the curriculum is not changed.

Of course, the demands have nothing to do with Christian groups demanding inclusion and everything to do with organized Jewish pressure to present Israel in a positive light while also casting aspersions on the Jewish state’s perceived enemies in the region and also on university campuses.
