President Donald Trump’s recent statement on the Jamal Khashoggi killing by Saudi Arabia’s Crown Prince might well be considered a metaphor for his foreign policy. Several commentators have suggested that the text appears to be something that Trump wrote himself without any adult supervision, similar to the poorly expressed random arguments presented in his tweeting only longer. That might be the case, but it would not be wise to dismiss the document as merely frivolous or misguided as it does in reality express the kind of thinking that has produced a foreign policy that seems to drift randomly to no real end, a kind of leaderless creative destruction of the United States as a world power.

Lord Palmerston, Prime Minister of Britain in the mid nineteenth century, famously said that “Nations have no permanent friends or allies, they only have permanent interests.”The United States currently has neither real friends nor any clearly defined interests. It is, however, infested with parasites that have convinced an at-drift America that their causes are identical to the interests of the United States. Leading the charge to reduce the U.S. to “bitch” status, as Congresswoman Tulsi Gabbard has artfully put it, are Israel and Saudi Arabia, but there are many other countries, alliances and advocacy groups that have learned how to subvert and direct the “leader of the free world.”

Trump’s memo on the Saudis begins with the headline “The world is a very dangerous place!” Indeed, it is and behavior by the three occupants of the White House since 2000 is largely to blame. It is difficult to find a part of the world where an actual American interest is being served by Washington’s foreign and global security policies. Indeed, a national security policy that sees competitors and adversaries as enemies in a military sense has made nuclear war, unthinkable since the demise of the Soviet Union in 1991, thinkable once again. Details of the actual incident in the Straits of Kerch between the Black Sea and the lesser Sea of Azof remain murky besides the fact that two Ukrainian gunships and a tug disobeyed orders from Russian ships to stand down in Russian maritime waters and shots were fired. Who knew that Ukraine even had a navy, and how can they possibly pay for it? But now NATO is trying to get into the act, meaning the USA will get dragged into just the sort unnecessary and idiotic dispute that kicks off world wars. Note to the Golden Golem of Greatness (aka Mr. Trump): this dog-fight is none of our goddam business. Deninger, as usual when he gets outside his lane, is an idiot.

Nosocomial (hospital-acquired) infections are not billable to the patient nor the insurer, they are a liability assumed by the hospital/provider that caused them. Any other approach goes by the quaint legal term "fraud".

They've only beaten this into providers' heads for something like a decade or two, which is why doctors and hospitals are death on things like ordering indwelling urinary catheters, which are virtually guaranteed to cause the patient a UTI if left in long enough. It's the same reason leaving sponges or instruments inside people in surgery is an own goal: the doctor and hospital eat the cost of all subsequent care for the sequellae of that little foul-up.

And surgery centers are rightfully regarded both within the biz and outside it as the bounty hunters of the medical world, because they cut costs by cutting corners on patient safety, and hiring itinerant staff moonlighting from other jobs. If anything goes dreadfully wrong, they ship their mistakes to real hospitals to fix. No wonder they can undercut costs, because they've outsourced everything but the procedure itself; God help you if anything goes sideways, because they can't handle that, by design. Accidentally punctured a lung while doing a boob job? Ship 'em to the ER, then the real hospital OR, to sew up that "Oopsie". And no, they don't include that in their annual statement of average procedure costs. Ask me how I know.

Understanding The War On Whitey

It is tempting to think that the war on white people we see today is some sort of weird incoherent spasm of Progressivism. As Steve Sailer likes to believe, it is part of an electoral strategy to keep the coalition of non-whites from killing each other. If they are focused on how much they hate white people, white men in particular, then they won’t fall into slaughtering one another. That’s a tempting belief, because it suggests it will abate on its own, once the various tribes of the Left have exhausted themselves.
While there may be some truth to that assertion, at least in the narrow confines of electoral politics, the truth is we are simply seeing the next phase of a war that started not long after the end of the Second World War. It was not an explicit war on whitey, as we see today, but rather a war on white ideas about how best to organize a society. One front was the war on institutions, by overrunning them and turning them into pillboxes, from which the Left could attack white society. The academy is the most obvious example.
Another front in this war has been the attack on the basic concepts that whites in America have accepted as the foundation of order. In the 1960’s, the Left managed to outlaw freedom of association, with civil rights legislation. The long held view that you are free to associate with whom you like was banned, in favor of a system of permissions, administered by the courts. Israel has several objectives. The first is American aid, of several varieties, which it has. As long as it continues to get American aid without conditions it can do stupid things for a very long time, damaging Palestinians and Israel.

Another thing Israel wants is an economic relationship with Europe and therefore it’s here that the EU has enormous leverage. If the EU said: ‘So long as you break international laws, you can’t participate in the EU market,’ this would be a huge issue in Israel, second only to losing American assistance.

Europe says: ‘We couldn’t do that. Remember what we’ve done to Jews. We can’t use economic leverage against Israel. We can’t be a critic of Israel; we pressure the Jewish state, because of Auschwitz.’ Europe can’t blame someone else’s crimes to enable a state that commits its own crimes.

Israel has to become a normal state. Israel shouldn’t be special because it’s Jewish. It should have no more rights than any other country. It has to behave like a state; declare its borders, recognize international law, and obey international treaties and agreements. Countries have to behave towards it the way they would towards any other state that broke those laws.

People will say: ‘Why pick on Israel? What about other countries, which are much worse’, but that neglects several things; Israel describes itself as a democracy and so it should be compared with democracies. If Burma came to the EU and said, ‘we’d like privileged trading rights with you,’ Europe would say: ‘First you have to release political prisoners, hold inclusive elections, and open up your borders.’ We have to say the same things to Israel. Otherwise we’re acknowledging that a Jewish state is an unusual thing; a different thing that’s not to be treated like every other state. It’s the European bad conscience that’s part of the problem.
The biggest mystery in history remains how these cuddly, lovable people keep finding themselves in trouble.  How can you not love them, when they love themselves so much?  It’s truly baffling, and must have to do with medieval philosophizing of the Catholic Church.
