The United States and Israel attacked petrochemical complexes and a nuclear power plant in Iran in the early morning of the 4th, according to reports by Iranian state-run IRNA news agency and others.

Deputy Governor of Iran’s southwestern Khuzestan Province, Baloila Hayati, stated that the U.S. and Israel conducted airstrikes on the Mahshahr petrochemical complex and facilities in the Bandar Imam area on the same day, injuring five people. Hayati added, “Fighter jets of the U.S. and Zionists (Israel) attacked the Fazr 1·2 petrochemical complexes and the Razal, Amir Kabir, and Abu Ali petrochemical plants,” and “Simultaneously, the Bandar Imam petrochemical plant was also struck, causing partial destruction.”

Authorities in Iran’s southeastern Hormozgan Province announced that a cement factory in Bandar Hormoz was attacked, but there were no casualties or production halts.

Notably, around 8:30 a.m. on the same day, the Bushehr nuclear power plant in southern Iran was also reportedly attacked by the U.S. and Israel, resulting in the death of one protective staff member and damage to an auxiliary building due to explosions and debris, according to IRNA. The Bushehr plant, located on Iran’s southern Persian Gulf coast, is a facility where a radiation leak could cause significant damage to coastal nations. It had previously been attacked on the 24th and 27th of last month.
