Looks like Israel is running into stiff opposition in Gaza. I base this conclusion after perusing the latest editions of Hareetz and the Times of Israel. The Times of Israel paints Israeli military operations in the most positive light possible, but cites few concrete accomplishments besides boiler point claims that it killed a band of terrorists. Unlike Hareetz, which has done hard hitting reporting on Israel’s culpability in inflicting civilian casualties in Gaza, the Times of Israel pushes the meme that Israel only is killing terrorists. Neither, however, report on Hamas counter attacks.

The following video purports to be a montage of Hamas fighters ambushing Israeli tanks and armored vehicles in Gaza. I have no way to verify that this is genuine. However, regardless of its legitimacy it does feed the propaganda mill and is buttressing the meme that Hamas is fighting and winning some street battles.

AP reported that Israeli military strikes killed multiple civilians at a UN shelter and hospital in the main combat zone in northern Gaza. The UN agency for Palestinian refugees said two strikes hit a UN school-turned-shelter just north of Gaza City, killing several people in tents in the schoolyard and women who were baking bread inside the building.

It was not clear how the news agency determined the strike was Israeli (Palestinian rocket misfires have also caused multiple civilian casualties in Gaza).

The IDF did not immediately comment, but generally says it targets Hamas terror infrastructure — a vast network of posts, command centers, weapons caches and tunnels — which is embedded within the civilian population. The army has urged residents of northern Gaza to move south as it intensifies its activity in the Gaza City area.

The problem that Israel faces is that very few outside Israel are reading and accepting as true the Times of Israel account. Videos and photos like the following continue to circulate on social media for all the world to see (at least those who choose to watch) and it is fueling growing demands for Israel to stop its indiscriminate bombing.........more...........
