 newsome like all of the anti gun politcians works emotion and ignores facts which generally destroy the feel good proposals which do nothing to make anywhere safe;

Newsom throws around the same lies as every other Democrat politician

The presidential hopeful who has dragged his state down to a near disaster and wants to help the nation follow suit is proclaiming, as have other gun-ban advocates, that the ATF proposals “weaken federal gun safety.”

In an August 10 news release filled with lies and half-truths, Newsom said the reforms, which come on the heels of President Donald Trump’s executive order to protect the Second Amendment, amount to a “giveaway to gun traffickers, a threat to law enforcement and a dangerous move away from common-sense practices that protect children.”

Newsom hits every talking point that Cekada already debunked

“The Trump administration is moving forward with changes it openly admits may result in more mass shootings and military veteran suicides,” Newsom said, reiterating anti-gun talking points that ATF Director Robert Cekada refuted here. “It calls child safety warnings ‘an undue burden’ on firearms dealers. And it is orchestrating a purge on records that would help law enforcement solve crimes. We’ve seen politicians in the pocket of the gun lobby here; Trump is putting our communities in danger and seems to be squarely in the pocket of criminals.”........more............

 caitlin reassures us. the problem isn't us. its them;

The capitalist empire blames all systemic problems on the individual.

The problem isn’t billionaire megacorporations polluting the planet, it’s that you drive a car.

The problem isn’t that it’s getting harder and harder to afford to live as the ruling class extracts more and more value from labor, it’s that you’re not working hard enough and you’re making bad decisions.

Soaring police brutality isn’t a problem, the problem is that the guy in the current viral police brutality video didn’t obey orders correctly.

Israel’s not an irredeemably racist endeavor dependent on nonstop violence and apartheid, it’s just some naughty settlers and a few bad apples in the IDF.

We don’t live in a highly controlled oligarchy where both parties inflict war, ecocide, injustice and tyranny upon the rest of humanity on behalf of their wealthy donors, the problem is that you haven’t been voting for the correct candidates...........more...........

 larry johnson tells us about our navy, country, and what it isn't these days;

The images were mundane in a way that made them land harder than any battle footage: half-empty meal trays, a gray slab of processed meat, sailors rationing food among themselves so no one got more than anyone else. Through the spring and summer of 2026, the crews of the aircraft carrier USS Abraham Lincoln and the assault ship USS Tripoli contended with food shortages, long chow lines, broken toilets, mold in the showers, dead laundry machines, and shortages of basics like soap and toothpaste — aboard warships operating in the Arabian Sea and the wider Indian Ocean after more than 250 days at sea. The strain told on morale, and in the worst cases on the safety of the crew.

When the conditions became public, the Navy’s institutional reflex was denial. The despicable Secretary of War, Pete Hegseth, dismissed the early reporting as “fake news,” and a 5th Fleet spokesman insisted the crew “remain resilient and ready” and the ship “remains fully capable of meeting all mission tasking.” That response is worth remembering, because it is part of the failure rather than a rebuttal of it — a chain of command more prepared to defend its readiness narrative than to reckon with why its sailors were going without. The conditions were real. The more important question is why warships from the world’s best-funded navy were running short on food and hygiene supplies at all.

The answer is not primarily about one carrier or one supply officer. It is structural, it has been building for fifteen years, and it lives in a part of the fleet the public never sees — the ships that feed and fuel the fighting ships............more...........

 we reminisce about 'our freedom' we once had. we don't have the stomach to do anything about it;

As of late American citizens have been more concerned with surveillance and privacy than ever before. Rightfully so, as we see an explosion of surveillance equipment being installed across the country.

For decades, liberty activists have diligently watched and warned of the slowly encroaching mission creep of domestic mass surveillance seeping its way into everyday American life. Opposition to such violations of fundamental liberty have been one of the few causes to transcend the false left / right paradigm, with instances such as leftists opposed to the surveillance of civil rights groups during the days of COINTELPRO and conservative opposition to the surveillance of Second Amendment activists.

Even today, amid rising concerns of the mass implementation of Flock cameras across the nation, these concerns are actively creating a bridge of solidarity among the polarized political chasm.

While surveillance of the American citizenry has existed in some way for more than a century, the persistent punitive pervasiveness of such violations of privacy have been perpetually on the rise since the passage of the Patriot Act following the false flag attack of September 11th, 2001.

Interestingly enough, the provisions of the Patriot Act with all of its violations of constitutional protections had already been cooked up well before the September 11th attacks but was projected not to pass a congressional vote until such attacks took place. Indeed, the Patriot Act simply served as an expansion of surveillance authority circumventing the Constitution implemented in the 1996 Antiterrorism Act, itself only justified following the Oklahoma City false flag attack just a year prior. Simply a coincidence, surely. ..........more...........

 iran declares victory over the empire, on pbs;

A general with the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) gave a rare interview to American media that came off like a postgame interview with the winning coach. The war has gone so badly for the U.S. that even the globalists at Foreign Affairs magazine think America should leave the Middle East altogether.

Ironically, Iran would not be able to resist as effectively had American unipolar hegemony not kicked the global economy into hyperdrive after the fall of the Soviet Union. According to analyst Robert Pape, a professor of political science at the University of Chicago, globalization made precision technology widely available. That technology, specifically in the form of cheap and effective drones, is what Iran has used to shut down the Strait of Hormuz and shoot down expensive U.S. helicopters. As Pape points out, Iran is successful because “the objective is no longer conventional victory on the battlefield but rather creating leverage through disruption.” More on this later.

The Interview

IRGC advisor Gen. Mohammad Reza Naqdi recently sat down with PBS News, and said Iran is winning. He pointed to the chaotic messaging from the White House, with its day-to-day shifts, reversals, and premature victory announcements, as evidence that the U.S. can’t figure out how to win this war. “It became a war without a strategy,” he said. “Every two or three days they announced a new objective.” He cited examples the American people have observed with their own eyes and ears. They include threats to invade Kharg Island, confusion over the Strait of Hormuz, and the mobilization of battle ships............more...........
