 death by cop;

Here in North Carolina, though up in Ashe County, deputies accidentally killed a motorcycle rider by triggering his airbag safety vest. They were unreasonably aggressive, pulling a gun on him and physically dragging him off the bike without bothering to disconnect the safety vest. If you don’t know how these work, they are connected to the bike so that if you come off of it the ripcord causes the airbags to expand. These things exert pretty serious force (as you can see from that link), which can cause problems for breathing — especially if you are also being choked out by a deputy sheriff. An autopsy ruled Mast’s death a homicide and found the cause of death was “compression asphyxia of the torso and neck.”

First of all let’s get past the issue that most cops are overly aggressive and paranoid idiots and probably started the whole downward spiral of this terrible event.

This is also why I don’t like cops touching another man’s gun. The gun might be striker fired. It might be hammer fired. It might have a safety. It might not. It might be in half-cocked position. It might not be. It might have a round in the chamber. It might not. It might have a modified (light) trigger. It might not. It might have other modifications of which the cop is unaware.

Only a stupid department run by imbeciles would have a procedure where a cop touches and pulls another man’s gun off of him for reasons of “officer safety.” I cannot imagine something more unsafe..........more........

pond scum like starmer only admit these things when there's no choice;

 The desire to reduce mass migration is so undeniably popular in the United Kingdom, and such a threat to politicians who oppose it, that the left-wing government in power is flipping on the issue. Early this week, Prime Minister Keir Starmer publicly admitted that unrestrained mass migration hasn’t benefited the people of the U.K., despite claims to the contrary by elites, including himself.

Starmer’s conversion comes less than two weeks after Reform UK, which opposes mass migration, easily won a round of local elections.

“The experiment is over,” the prime minister declared Monday. “We will deliver what you have asked for — time and again — and we will take back control of our borders. I believe we need to reduce immigration significantly.” The point, he added, is to have an immigration system that “works for our national interest.”

In his speech, Starmer said the U.K. risks becoming an “island of strangers” and admitted the country’s suicidal immigration system “seems almost designed to permit abuse.”

Starmer’s “island of strangers” statement triggered screeches of “far-right rhetoric” and comparisons to conservative parliament member Enoch Powell’s 1968 “rivers of blood” speech. In that address, Powell compared the deluge of migrants the island was experiencing back then to “a nation busily engaged in heaping up its own funeral pyre.” Powell described why mass migration was great for the migrant but rendered natives “strangers in their own country”:...........more......

 caitlin presents what i suspected in the last post that it appears israel is loosing its mojo;

After a year and a half of genocidal atrocities, the editorial boards of numerous British press outlets have suddenly come out hard against Israel’s genocidal onslaught in Gaza.

The first drop of rain came last week from The Financial Times in a piece by the editorial board titled “The west’s shameful silence on Gaza,” which denounces the US and Europe for having “issued barely a word of condemnation” of their ally’s criminality, saying they “should be ashamed of their silence, and stop enabling Netanyahu to act with impunity.”

Then came The Economist with a piece titled “The war in Gaza must end,” which argues that Trump should pressure the Netanyahu regime for a ceasefire, saying that “The only people who benefit from continuing the war are Mr Netanyahu, who keeps his coalition intact, and his far-right allies, who dream of emptying Gaza and rebuilding Jewish settlements there.” ............more.........

i'm guessing that coverage like this may signal the end of special treatment for zionists;

You can tell how bad levels of starvation now are in Gaza – as the population there begins the third month of a complete aid blockade by Israel – because last night the BBC finally dedicated a serious chunk of its main news programme, the News at Ten, to the issue.

But while upsetting footage of a skin-and-bones, five-month-old baby was shown, most of the segment was, of course, dedicated to confusing audiences – by two-sidesing Israel’s genocidal programme of starving 2 million-plus Palestinian civilians.

Particularly shocking was the BBC’s failure in this extended report to mention even once the fact that Israel’s prime minister, Benjamin Netanyahu, has been a fugitive for months from the International Criminal Court, which wants him on trial for crimes against humanity. Why? For using starvation as a weapon of war against the civilian population.

I have yet to see the BBC, or any other major British media outlet, append the status “wanted war crimes suspect” when mentioning Netanyahu in stories. That is all the more unconscionable on this occasion, in a story directly related to the very issue – starving a civilian population – he is charged over.

Was mention of the arrest warrant against him avoided because it might signal a little too clearly that the highest legal authorities in the world attribute starvation in Gaza directly to Israel and its government, and do not see it – as the British establishment media apparently do – as some continuing, unfortunate “humanitarian” consequence of “war”........more...........

 finally some consequences however minor;

A Republican lawmaker is moving to have three of his Democratic colleagues removed from their House committees after they were accused of “storming” a federal detention facility in defense of illegal immigrants in New Jersey.

Rep. Buddy Carter, R-Ga., introduced a resolution on Tuesday to strip Reps. Robert Menendez, D-N.J., Bonnie Watson Coleman, D-N.J., and LaMonica McIver, D-N.J., of their committee assignments.

The New Jersey Democrats were part of a group of protesters who rushed into Delaney Hall Detention Center after the gates opened for a bus carrying a group of detainees into the facility.

The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) accused them of breaking in and risking the safety of both law enforcement and detainees for what it called a political stunt.

{snip}

“The radical left has lost their minds – they would rather raid an ICE facility to defend criminal illegal immigrants than represent their own constituents,” Carter told Fox News Digital of his legislation.

“This behavior constitutes an assault on our brave ICE agents and undermines the rule of law. {snip}”

His legislation would remove Watson Coleman from the House Appropriations Committee, remove Menendez from the House Energy & Commerce Committee and remove McIver from the House committees on Small Business and Homeland Security........https://www.amren.com/news/2025/05/democrats-who-stormed-newark-ice-facility-could-be-stripped-of-committees-in-new-house-bill/

 the scumbag promises more death;

  • Netanyahu announces a full-scale assault on Gaza, vowing to destroy Hamas while critics warn of forced Palestinian expulsion and genocide.
  • Netanyahu admits Israel’s destruction of homes aims to push Gazans to emigrate, confirming fears of ethnic cleansing.
  • Humanitarian aid is being weaponized, with Palestinians receiving help only if they don’t return to their destroyed homes.
  • Despite claims of victory, Hamas remains undefeated, and Israel’s indiscriminate bombings continue killing civilians, including in hospitals.
  • The war exposes Israel’s apartheid regime, with global inaction allowing unchecked destruction and potential genocide in Gaza.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has openly declared that his military will soon launch a devastating, full-scale assault on Gaza, vowing to "complete the operation" by destroying Hamas in a move that critics warn will accelerate the forced expulsion of Palestinians from their homeland. With Gaza already reduced to ruins after 20 months of relentless bombing, Netanyahu’s latest threats signal an escalation in what human rights organizations have labeled a genocide.

Netanyahu’s chilling remarks came during a visit to Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) reservists, where he stated, "In the very coming days, we are going in with full force to complete the operation. Completing the operation means defeating Hamas. It means destroying Hamas." He dismissed the possibility of a permanent ceasefire, saying, "There will be no situation where we stop the war. A temporary ceasefire might happen, but we are going all the way."........more......

the orange man and the houthis;

President Trump reportedly decided to end his short-lived war on the Houthis after being informed that the US had "burned through weapons and munitions at a rate of about $1 billion in the first month alone" and couldn't even establish air superiority.

From The New York Times, "Why Trump Suddenly Declared Victory Over the Houthi Militia":

When he approved a campaign to reopen shipping in the Red Sea by bombing the Houthi militant group into submission, President Trump wanted to see results within 30 days of the initial strikes two months ago.

By Day 31, Mr. Trump, ever leery of drawn-out military entanglements in the Middle East, demanded a progress report, according to administration officials.

But the results were not there. The United States had not even established air superiority over the Houthis. Instead, what was emerging after 30 days of a stepped-up campaign against the Yemeni group was another expensive but inconclusive American military engagement in the region.

[...] [Gen. Michael E. Kurilla, the head of Central Command] proposed an eight- to 10-month campaign in which Air Force and Navy warplanes would take out Houthi air defense systems. Then, he said, U.S. forces would mount targeted assassinations modeled on Israel's recent operation against Hezbollah, three U.S. officials said.........more.......
