As temperatures start to fall, JJ Houghs Singing Pub in Banagher, Ireland, posted a cheeky photo to Facebook of two customers sitting beside a peat fire warming up.

But virtue-signalers never sleep and also seem to lack humor, so the woke local tourist center, Working Holiday Ireland, took the opportunity to publicly reprimand the owners for burning peat (also called turf).

The Working Holiday Ireland website says the organization “is for those planning to visit the magical emerald Isle on a working holiday or simply just to relax on holiday!!”

Working Holiday Ireland posted a comment under the sweet photo saying, “I see you’re burning turf?! Carbon footprint guys…”

JJ’s owners did not hold back in their hilarious and accurate reply.

“Its how we Heat the Pub. Looking at your page you rely on tourists from abroad coming to Ireland correct? How do they get here? They hardly swam. How would you quantify and compare the emissions of a Boeing 747 to a small turf fire.”

“How do your guests get around Ireland when they arrive, do they walk?”

“I also see by your page you promote Dunnes Stores, who have 138 stores in Ireland and abroad, do you query their carbon footprint?”

“When your guests are here do you check their clothing to ensure they aren’t made of synthetic polyester,a byproduct of petroleum.”

“Did you write your critique of my turf fire on a phone or laptop? Both of which were developed and are powered by fossil fuel technology. Maybe think before criticising a small family run pubs turf fire.”

“Maybe call in some day and I’ll give you my carbon footprint up your hole.”........more........

Gold is not going up: the dollar is going down. People complain after inflation but are goods and services going up or is the dollar going down? The answer is obvious but the reason also is obvious. The government is destroying our culture, economy, security, religion and educational system. This is one facet of their plan but the endgame is the same goal.

So don’t think about gold going up 35.4% in the past year. Think of it as the US dollar depreciating 35.4%.

The Air Force finally handed over a trove of documents pertaining to its sweeping “goal” of reducing the number of white male applicants in a popular officer program after spending months stonewalling requests for their release.

Joint Chiefs of Staff Chairman C.Q. Brown — at the time the highest-ranking member of the Air Force — issued a memorandum in 2022 that the branch was updating its racial and gender demographic goals for applicants seeking to become officers, in a bid to prioritize “diversity and inclusion.” Internal documents obtained by the Daily Caller News Foundation include a slideshow from 2022 where the Air Force outlines racial and gender quotas and details how it hopes to “achieve” a reduced number of white males in its Reserve Officers’ Training Corps (ROTC) officer’s applicant program.

The documents reflect the Biden-Harris Pentagon’s intense focus on implementing diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) policies in the armed forces, even as the military continues to combat dwindling morale among its rank-and-file, recruiting and retention shortfalls and low pay.

One of the slides in question, labeled “AFROTC White,” depicts a graph that shows the percentage of white male ROTC officer applicants declining from approximately 60% in fiscal year 2019 to a projected 50% in fiscal year 2023. The graph further details how the Air Force’s goal is to reduce that percentage down to approximately 43% by fiscal year 2029, denoted by a star with the label “achieve(d) goal.”

“White male population will decline as other demographics increase,” the slide reads.

There is truth and there is opinion. Strongly held opinions can be completely devoid of facts. Such is the case with retired General Ben Hodges. He recently agreed to an interview with Danny Davis and his Deep Dive channel on YouTube. I am focusing on Hodges because his views are emblematic of most of the retired military pundits popping up to pontificate on various cable news channels. My comments about Hodges also apply to people like former CIA Director David Petraeus and retired General Jack Keane. There is a genuine disconnect with reality among former military leaders who, by virtue of their experience and education, should know better. I don’t think Hodges and the others are “lying.” I think they really believe what they are saying. The only problem, they are wrong. Profoundly so.

I am posting Danny’s full interview with Hodges at the end of this piece. Danny did a good job of trying to hold him to account, but did not try to eviscerate him. The interview starts off with Danny challenging Hodges on his predictions last year about the eventual success of the Ukrainian counter offensive.

Hodges: First I think we’re going to see an attack that will be very professional very effective and its purpose will be to, I believe ,uh isolate Crimea uh and set the conditions for the eventual liberation of Crimea.

Reporter: Okay later this year later this year um just quickly before we go I’d like to pick up on what you just said there General Hodges, because you have in general been very optimistic about Ukraine’s ability to repel the Russian invasion and even march on Crimea.
