The Capitol riot wasn’t the worst thing a US president has done.

It’s not even the worst thing this current president has done.

It doesn’t even come near his top ten.

It’s not even the worst thing he’s done this month.

This is clear to anyone who thinks non-American lives matter.

Imagine a world where ordering the butchery of human beings in other countries would elicit the kind of outraged backlash we’re seeing over a riot that was quantifiably far, far less destructive. Imagine a world where the US saw those victims as human beings. It would be good.

If your response to being told the US empire constantly does far worse things than the Capitol riot is to shriek “STOP MINIMIZING THIS!”, then it is you who is trying to minimize the horrors of US imperialism. Obviously the Capitol riot was bad. Now look at US military slaughter.

Any number of arbitrary traffic infractions can and will lead to your extortion, arrest, imprisonment, or in the case of Philando Castile, death. Policing for profit in the United States is the norm.

As the following case illustrates, as police officers extort the masses and violate the rights of citizens in the process, they are almost never held accountable. It is the taxpayers who foot the bill instead.

Over the years we’ve reported on stories of people being assaulted, arrested and even killed over stops for victimless crimes like dark window tint, no seat belt, and burned out license plate lights. However, in a decade of police accountability, we’ve never seen someone stopped and nearly killed for a dirty license plate — until recently.

Officer Kaleb Meyer with the New Braunfels Police Department is a tyrant who pulled over Clarence Crawford last year, and nearly killed him over a dirty license plate.

This week, Crawford’s attorney announced a lawsuit against the department after his client suffered embarrassment and mental anguish after being forcibly removed from his car and tasered by an apparently racist cop for a dirty license plate.

“NBPD’s reckless failure to formally address Defendant Meyer’s conduct risks other jurisdictions hiring him without knowledge of his history of racial animus, racial profiling, and dangerous and reckless conduct on the job,” the lawsuit says.........read and watch more......

don't call 911, especially if you're blind and deaf;

 

San Bernardino, CA — As frequent readers of the Free Thought Project will attest, calling 911 can often be a deadly mistake. All too often, those in need of help, call 911 only to be beaten, arrested, or killed when police show up. A 91-year-old woman learned this the hard way over the weekend after she was shot and killed by police who showed up to her 911 call for help and shot her.

According to her family, Betty Francois was legally blind and deaf but managed to live by herself. She was self-sufficient and apparently well armed. When Francois suspected people were breaking into her home, she grabbed her shotgun and then called 911.

According to the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department, when deputies arrived on the scene, they encountered Francois, who was armed with a shotgun. Police claimed in a statement when they told Francois to drop the gun, she didn’t listen, so they had no choice but to shoot her.

On Saturday, January 9, 2021, at 9:34 a.m., deputies responded to a 911 call reporting unknown subjects attempting to break into the Sunburst Road residence. Deputies arrived and a woman, later identified as Betty Francois, came out the front door of the home armed with a shotgun. Deputies gave her commands to drop the gun, then she pointed the gun at the deputies, and a deputy-involved shooting occurred.........read and watch more.......
