Nataly Buhr's address last Thursday to the crowd at San Diego's San Ysidro High School started off typical, with Nataly thanking teachers and her parents, per Fox News. But things soon veered from the script that had been preapproved by the school, with the senior "thanking" those who hadn't been quite as inspirational, including a guidance counselor who she says taught her to "fend for myself. You were always unavailable to my parents and I, despite appointments." The main office staff fueled her resourcefulness, thanks to "negligence" that she says may have cost her scholarships. As for one teacher who was "regularly intoxicated ... thank you for using yourself as an example to teach students about the dangers of alcoholism," Nataly said. "Being escorted by police out of school was a lasting impression." While there were audible gasps during her speech, Nataly received cheers and applause from her classmates at the end (CBS8 has the speech here). A Sweetwater Union High School District rep says Nataly's speech was "inappropriate" and "out of line," and that "while we definitely welcome the concerns of students and their families ... doing so in such a manner ... is not the right way of handling this," per the San Diego Union-Tribune. Her mom, for one, is glad Nataly spoke up. "It is something that takes a lot courage to do." There is literally zero chance that Iran was involved in any of the six recent attacks in the Gulf of Oman:

The Middle East is on high alert today after two oil tankers were hit by explosions in the Gulf of Oman. One of the ships, the MT Front Altair, caught fire after a suspected torpedo attack and Iran says it has sunk - although the ship's Norwegian owner has denied the claim.

The Altair and the Kokuka Courageous were evacuated after sending distress signals - picked up by the U.S. Navy's Fifth Fleet - with 44 sailors rescued.

Britain has urged 'extreme caution' amid high tensions in the Middle East, just weeks after four tankers were attacked in a mysterious act of sabotage off the UAE coast which Washington believes was the work of Iran.... Iran said its search and rescue teams had picked up the 44 sailors from the two ships and taken them to the port of Jask. Norway has advised its ships to keep out of Iranian waters while Tehran has called the explosions 'suspicious'.

It is considerably more likely that the US Navy or the Israeli Navy were involved, although the most likely explanation is bombs planted by independent contractors. The weapons of mass destruction in Iraq were fake. The poison gas bombings in Syria were fake. These attacks in the Gulf are fake too.

If Iran decides to attack shipping in the Gulf, there will be dozens of ships sinking, including warships. These little acts of sabotage are obvious false flags conducted by those trying to provoke war between the US and Iran.

I sleep better at night knowing that ever-vigilant defense contractors and the politicians they’ve bought and paid for are making certain that America won’t be overrun by Communists, Islamic terrorists, or anyone else.

And I’m reassured by the fact that as an American taxpayer, I’m paying $435 for hammers and $640 for toilet seats. Sure, that’s more than I’d pay in a hardware store for these items. But we need to “support the troops.”

In the same vein, I’m thrilled that Lockheed-Martin shareholders paid CEO Marillyn Hewson more than $21 million in total compensation in 2018. Certainly, she deserves every penny given Lockheed’s contribution to keeping America safe from its enemies.

Take Lockheed’s F-35 combat jet, for instance. Yes, it’s the world’s most expensive weapons development program ever. US taxpayers are slated to shell out more than $1.5 trillion over its anticipated lifespan. And there are a few performance issues, such as the fact that the F-35 can’t take off from the Navy’s newest aircraft carriers. Or that they have a disconcerting habit of crashing. And that they can’t fight, hide from the enemy, or even eject the pilot in an emergency. But Lockheed has spent only 22 years developing the plane and $400 billion in taxpayer funds to date. I’m sure they’ll get it right eventually.

And it’s a cool-looking airplane, as you can see in this video. It must be worth the money.

I’m also impressed by the bookkeeping diligence of the Pentagon. Sure, there are occasional blips, such as the announcement by the Defense Department’s inspector general that in 2015, the Army, had made “unsupported journal voucher adjustments” to the tune $6.5 trillion. In many cases, the Army had no receipts or even invoices to support those expenditures. In others, the Army simply invented the adjustments out of thin air.
