Fairfax, VA – -(Ammoland.com)- In a November 30th, 2018, tweet, Tom Arnold, famous for being married to Roseanne Barr and making a few really bad movies, has proven that he knows nothing about guns, gun owners or firearm misuse [or math].
Here is his exact tweet:“This explains why 80% of gun owners shoot themselves or members of their own families.”
Really?  It’s a claim that is so absurd it hardly needs to be refuted, except that these days the media and many uninformed anti-gun activists might just believe it.

Here is the reality.

Let’s assume that there are 100 million gun owners in the United States. Some estimates are higher than that, and some lower, but it’s a reasonable estimate. That means that for Arnold’s ridiculous claim to be true, there would have to be more than 80 million instances where people shot themselves or their family member in their lifetimes.
So if we assume that the average American lives sixty years at an age where they can lawfully possess a firearm, it would mean there would have been on average more than 1 million shootings each year. And, it would mean that there would have been over 2,500 shootings each day! Obviously, these would be in addition to any shootings that were not self-inflicted or perpetrated against a family member. Louisiana Court Rules ETP Can Build on Land without Owners’ Consent

On Thursday, December 6^th,  Louisiana Judge Keith Comeaux of the 16^th judicial district court ruled that Energy Transfer Partners (ETP, also known as Energy Transfer Equity,)  had the right to seize privately held-land in order to continue construction of the controversial Bayou Bridge pipeline through the Atchafalaya Basin. The lawsuit was brought to court after three landowners, Theda Larson Wright, Peter K. Aaslestad, and Katherine Aaslestad alleged that EPT had trespassed on their land and cut down trees in order to begin building the pipeline through their land parcels, without their permission.
The Atchafalaya basin, apart from being home to thousands of native species of plants, animals, fungi and other living beings, is also an ancestral home to some of the native peoples of Louisiana, as well as one of the last places where crawfish are fished in the wild. Even to those who do not accept the swamp as intrinsically valuable, must recognize that it provides a home, as well as economic and environmental services to the people of Louisiana in the form of stormwater absorption, air and water purification, and crawfish harvests.
Although the Judge’s verdict acknowledged that ETP did indeed trespass on the privately-held land, the ruling states that ETP has the right to continue construction, and now has the right to construct on the disputed land.
Though couched in the lofty, Latinate language of the law, the ruling shows a clear bias towards the so-called “necessity” of fossil fuel and its supporting infrastructure. The ruling went so far as to equate the oil with a “public utility common carrier”. ETP is not a public utility, and the oil in the pipelines is not a publicly held good. We are told that on December 14, 2012, a lone gunman, Adam Lanza, went to Sandy Hook Elementary School (SHES) in Newtown, Connecticut, where in the space of 11 minutes, shot and killed 20 first-graders and 6 adults.
We are also told that after the massacre, SHES relocated to an empty school in neighboring Monroe, CT — Chalk Hill Middle School at 375 Fan Hill Rd. — until a new swanky SHES was rebuilt with the $50 million from the state of Connecticut as a result of the shooting massacre.
It turns out that SHES had moved to Chalk Hill months before the alleged massacre, which leads to this question:

The surge is driven by Democrats, whose belief in this idea has increased from 61% eight years ago to 81% now.”
This finding comes even after the lie-based and catastrophic U.S. invasions of Iraq in 2003, and of Libya in 2011 (and of so many others, such as Afghanistan, where the U.S. and Sauds created the Taliban in 1979). Americans — now even increasingly — want ‘their’ (which is actually America's billionaires’) Government to be virtually the world’s government, policing the world. Not only would doing this bankrupt all constructive domestic functions (health, education, infrastructure, etc.) of the U.S. federal Government, but it would also increase the global carnage, as if the U.S. Government hasn’t already been doing enough of that, for decades now.
