 larry johnson makes the case that israeli soldiers aren't well trained which leads to troubles;

Just because the Israeli military wears some cool gear and carry really good combat rifles does not mean the average soldier is competent to use that weapon system, especially in combat. That is a result of inadequate training. Here is video proof. Watch it first and then I will explain. Pay particular attention to what the “instructor” in this video says at the 3:38 mark in the video.

I am a certified pistol and rifle instructor. I also am certified to train instructors. Just to let you know I am not some guy who goes to a range once in a while and fires off rounds at a static target. Israel teaches it soldiers NOT to have a round in the chamber when they draw from the holster. This goes back to the early days of the IOF, when there were frequent negligent discharges (i.e., firing the pistol “accidentally” before the sights were aligned on the target). The Israeli solution? Carry the pistol with a loaded magazine but do not chamber the round until you draw from the holster and have the gun pointed at your target.

Here is the transcript of what this trainer says to justify not letting soldiers go into combat with a weapon that is ready to fire:

Due to the IDF’s high operational pace the Israeli carry technique really comes as a reaction to A LACK OF RESOURCES IN TRAINING TIME and like any other decision in the military there is a give and take even though condition one has very clear advantages the IDF managed to develop a technique that while prioritizing safety still reaches an efficient level of proficiency with a secondary weapon that takes into consideration both advantages and disadvantages............more..........
