 the woke point of view is mostly beyond my understanding with bits i can get my hands on;

I’ve said it before, U.S. Ambassador to Canada Pete Hoekstra is the most underpaid U.S. emissary sent to a hostile nation and constantly surrounded by threats, bitterness, anger and hatred.

It would be easier to be U.S. ambassador to North Korea.

There is so much nuance inside this interview, it is remarkable.

Ambassador Hoekstra tries in his best diplomatic form to tell the two Canadians Michael LeBlanc and Dr. Sylvain Charlebois about the underlying nature of the U.S-Canada trade conflicts.  However, in typical Canadian fashion both indoctrinated interviewers are curiously stumped by the points Hoekstra presents.  I am prompting this one because you also need to see the body/facial language.........more..........

 when the palestinians retake their lands south america is one place the joos will be running to;

Abelardo de la Espriella’s razor-thin victory over leftist Iván Cepeda on June 21, 2026 represented the most recent rightward shift in Latin America’s politics. The defense attorney from Barranquilla captured 49.66 percent of the vote against Cepeda’s 48.7 percent—a margin of roughly 250,000 votes in what Al Jazeera called one of Colombia’s closest elections. Within hours, Israeli Foreign Minister Gideon Sa’ar called to congratulate him, and de la Espriella posted his response publicly.

“Colombia will restore and strengthen its relationship with the State of Israel like never before. Israel can count on Colombia as a loyal friend and steadfast ally,” de la Espriella declared. Sa’ar called him “a true friend of the Jewish people and the State of Israel,” adding that he looked forward to “revitalizing relations between Israel and Colombia and taking them to their highest level ever” and that he had already invited the incoming president to visit Israel.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu offered his own congratulations, saying he looked forward to “working with you to strengthen the bond between Israel and Colombia.” De la Espriella has pledged to reverse Petro’s 2024 decision to cut ties with Israel and has promised to relocate the Colombian embassy to Jerusalem.

No figure looms larger in this transformation of Latin American politics than Argentine President Javier Milei. The libertarian economist who took office in December 2023 has positioned himself as Israel’s most devoted ally anywhere on earth...........more..........

 mr peters speaks about the independence we once had;

July the 4th is a strange holiday. People who aren’t free to be left in peace are celebrating what, exactly? That the state only takes a fourth to a third of every dollar they earn? Well, that’s certainly something to be grateful for, perhaps. But celebrate? Do the convicts in prison celebrate when the warden says they can stay in the yard an extra half-hour before being returned to their cells? If they do, it is a degradation; a form of buck dancing.

The 4th is supposed to be the day Americans celebrate the day the Declaration of Independence was promulgated. More specifically, the day that the American colonists – well, some of them – officially declared that they were henceforth independent of the authority of the state of Great Britain. This is the important part and that is why it is the part that is almost never discussed and when it is discussed, it is discussed only cursorily, without getting into what it means. The reason why is obvious.

It was not merely that a Declaration of Independence from the state of Great Britain was promulgated. That is problematic enough, from the standpoint of modernity. After all, if it was legitimate – something to be celebrated – for the American colonists to say, in effect: We deny that the state of Great Britain legitimately rules us. We withdraw our consent and by doing so, the state no longer has moral authority to exert its authority over us. We are separating ourselves from the state of Great Britain.

These are extremely dangerous words.

At least, they became so after the failed attempt of the Southern states to withdraw their consent and separate from a union they no longer wished to be a part of. They also declared independence – withdrew their consent – on April 17, 1861 and this day would have been a day to celebrate had the Southern states successfully asserted their independence, as the thirteen colonies did.

Talk of slavery is a kind of important non sequitur. Of course slavery is a terrible thing. Who would say it is not? But it is beside the point. More finely, it is the point (the non sequitur) that statist want everyone to focus on in making the case that Southern states were in the wrong because there was slavery in the South. Certainly. But it is the principle of consent-withdrawal they do not want discussed, especially among kids. That is crucial. They are taught that Abe Lincoln subdued the Southern states to end slavery. That was incidental. He himself said so, repeatedly. The war was fought to make it clear that the consent of the governed was no longer required, as far as the state was concerned. Abe didn’t quite out it that way, of course. He waxed eloquent about the “union,” as if that made a forced arrangement sacred.

Of course, the state of Great Britain had the same view..........more...........

 a satirist describes the trump reign;

The Trump administration is clearly following several instruction manuals — George Orwell’s 1984, Aldous Huxley’s Brave New World, Mike Judge’s Idiocracy, etc. But they’re also using the fall of Ancient Rome as their lodestar.

Here’s a list of some of the well-known characteristics of Ancient Rome during the years it was collapsing. See if you notice any similarities to the fall of the US empire.

Bread and circuses — keeping the urban population calm by pumping them full of food subsidies and public (often brutal) entertainment. While the US ruling psychopaths have abandoned the idea of making sure Americans can afford food, they have definitely gifted us the circuses. Trump just hosted a gigantic Ultimate Fighting Championship on the grounds of the White House. This is by far the closest thing we presently have to gladiators getting eaten by lions. (Even I would’ve tuned in if there'd been lions.)

Slavery and dependent labor. The Global Slavery Index reports that the US has roughly 1.1 million enslaved people plus 800,000 prisoners who are (legally) involved in slave labor. So essentially 2 million Americans are slaves. That’s not including the holy-shit number of people working for pennies in jobs that give them no benefits, rights, or dignity.

Massive inequality. The US just minted its first trillionaire (a space Nazi, no less). Meanwhile 50% of all American children live near or below the poverty line. Feeding America estimates it would cost $32 billion to feed all food-insecure children in the US each year. This means Elon Musk could feed them all for 30 years with billions left over............more..........

 pcr has a low opinion on the putin and my take is scattered. sometimes he's good and others i wonder who he works for as there are rumors he's part of an organization called chabad which also hosts the orange man and bibi;

Dear Readers, my hopes for a week of non-work have come a cropper from foreign readers who say that my obligation to them is not cancelled by America’s celebration of what it formerly was.  There is to be no holiday for me.

Putin Is Destroying Russia

Paul Craig Roberts

Yulia Shapovalova, Moscow correspondent for Al Jazeera, reports that Pusillinamous  Putin’s ever-widening war has, as I said it would, expanded deep into Russia far from the Donbas battlefield.   Shapovalova reports “The crisis is deep,” as civilian fuel shortages worsen.  Ukraine’s successful strikes on Russian refineries and fuel storage have imperiled supply and resulted in gasoline rationing throughout the country and long lines as Russians wait hours for their rationed supply. What Putin has achieved is a reduction in Russians’ confidence in their government.  https://www.aljazeera.com/news/2026/7/2/the-crisis-is-deep-the-view-from-russia-as-fuel-shortages-worsen

Russia has had to halt export sales of gasoline and jet fuel, and lower the fuel grade standards for gasoline. In Crimea, a state of emergency has been declared.  Concerns are being expressed that to insure adequate fuel supply for agricultural harvesting could result in industry shutdowns.  Russia has had to purchase 80,000 tons of gasoline from India and hopes to be able to import 400,000 tonnes of gasoline each month from wherever Russia can get it.  This clearly will not help the Russian balance of payments, which the pro-American Russian bank director will use for more punishment for Russians.

Confronted with a genuine crisis, what is Putin’s response?........more.........

 here be a primer on how screwed the brits are when it comes to 'justice';

 A convicted predator who helped destroy the lives of vulnerable girls as young as 13 is days away from freedom in Britain, while Pakistan refuses to take him and archaic rules shield him from removal.

Shabir Ahmed’s case lays bare how legal technicalities, political cowardice, and a refusal to enforce borders have turned the country into a revolving door for the most dangerous offenders.

Ahmed, now 73, arrived in the UK long before 1973 as a Commonwealth citizen. He was convicted in 2012 at Liverpool Crown Court on multiple counts of rape, aiding and abetting rape, sexual assault, and trafficking for sexual exploitation. He treated at least one victim as property, abusing her on an almost weekly basis. Part of a gang of nine men operating out of takeaways in the Heywood area of Rochdale, Ahmed and his associates targeted working-class girls from broken background..........more.........

 this is how european countries, at least the larger ones, conduct 'democracy'. do you think they need a bit of a help understanding how to do so;

 Yesterday, National Rally leader Jordan Bardella wrote of police raids targeting communications providers that worked with his party, as well as an upcoming judicial investigation targeting him for a job he did 12 years ago. All of these actions are being taken in the lead up to French national elections next year, where Bardella is shown to be leading in polls to become the next president of the country.

“Since early this morning, searches have been underway at the offices and personal residences of communication providers who have worked with us,” wrote Bardella on X.

“At the same time, Le Canard enchaîné also informs us of the upcoming opening of a judicial investigation concerning me, following a complaint from a militant association, regarding a job I held for a few months at the European Parliament… nearly twelve years ago,” he continued.

Le Pen’s revenge? Bardella projected to win 2027 French election runoff in all scenarios

He then noted that these actions are being taken before elections, writing: “As always, judicial proceedings herald the electoral calendar. We have nothing to reproach ourselves for, and we will demonstrate it.”........more.........
