Earlier today, the Vice-Chairman of the Senate Select Committee on Intelligence (SSCI), Senator Mark Warner, delivered a statement and took questions from the press pool.  The subject was his extreme concern about the actions of Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard against the background of the U.S. intelligence community losing their grip on American politics.  In every nuance of every syllable, Mark Warner is very concerned about this.

Warner talks about the intelligence community “Gang of Eight” [@16:37] being formed specifically so that critical issues of vital national security could be shared and reviewed in a secure forum for oversight.  This is the same Mark Warner who on March 17, 2017, shortly after 4:00pm, leaked a top-secret highly classified FISA warrant in an effort to achieve his domestic political objectives.  Warner genuinely doesn’t think we know about it.

Senator Mark Warner rails against Tulsi Gabbard for working on election integrity issues without debriefing the Senate Intelligence Committee.  In short, what reasonably concerns Warner is that organized intelligence community work to influence U.S. election outcomes is going to be impaired by DNI Tulsi Gabbard.   Warner notes the DNI should never be permitted to review domestic intelligence operations in U.S. elections, and he is very angry about what might happen if this continues...........more............

Commentators are confusing interference with police in the line of duty with peaceful protest

Ron Unz of the Unz Review, John Whitehead of the Rutherford Institute and others have made the point that once we accept police violence because we disapprove of those experiencing it we have let the genie out of the bottle. The point has also been made that conservatives betray their Second Amendment position when they argue that participating in a protest when armed is legitimate grounds for being shot by police.

I have no quarrel with these points. My point is different. The January 6 protest was a protest, while the so-called protest in Minneapolis is in fact organized resistance to police carrying out their duties.  Jan 6 was a rally in support of an honest presidential vote count. What is underway in Minneapolis is an effort to prevent police from caring out lawful activities. These are quite different things.

The two people in Minneapolis shot by ICE federal agents were either resisting arrest or behaving aggressively. Contrast this with Ashli Babbitt, a 35-year-old Air Force veteran. She was fatally shot by U.S. Capitol Police Lieutenant Michael Byrd on January 6, 2021. Byrd, a black officer who  defended his actions as lawful and necessary to protect members of Congress, was cleared of wrongdoing by the US Department of Justice. No evidence was presented that Babbitt was interfering with or obstructing Byrd in his duty or that she was a threat to members of Congress..........more..............

Many would observe that Trump is what he is because he is not his own man, being instead controlled as he does his awkward marionette dance routine across the stage by the state of Israel and the domestic Lobbyists who exist to advance that country’s perceived interests through owning the US media and America’s national government. Currently, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu wants Trump and the US to do the heavy lifting in destroying Iran and there is every indication that the Orangeman, who has just approved another $6.5 billion in weapons to Israel without the necessary review process and authorization from Congress, will try to do just that no matter what it costs the American people. The perpetual pander to Israel is not necessarily surprising as Trump emerged on the political scene, after his fun and games with Jeffrey Epstein and appearing on a brain dead television series in which he honed his ability to fire people, as the self-anointed pro-Jewish candidate for the US presidency. On July 1^st 2015 the 69 year old Trump in his own words declared how he was “The only [candidate] that’s going to give real support to Israel is me. The rest of them are all talk, no action. They’re politicians. I’ve been loyal to Israel from the day I was born. My father, Fred Trump, was loyal to Israel before me.
