Yes, I am going to say, “I told you so.” The New York Post report on a new CIA review of the December 2016 Intelligence Community Assessment on Russian Election Interference (ICA), reminds me of Claude Rains, who played the police captain in Casablanca… He was shocked to discover gambling in the casino.

A bombshell new CIA review of the Obama administration’s spy agencies’ assessment that Russia interfered in the 2016 presidential election to help Donald Trump was deliberately corrupted by then-CIA Director John Brennan, FBI Director James Comey and Director of National Intelligence James Clapper, who were “excessively involved” in its drafting, and rushed its completion in a “chaotic,” “atypical” and “markedly unconventional” process that raised questions of a “potential political motive.” 

Further, Brennan’s decision to include the discredited Steele dossier, over the objections of the CIA’s most senior Russia experts, “undermined the credibility” of the assessment.

The “Tradecraft Review of the 2016 Intelligence Community Assessment [ICA] on Russian Election Interference” was conducted by career professionals at the CIA’s Directorate of Analysis and was commissioned by CIA Director John Ratcliffe in May. ..........more........

Striking another blow for sanity (though not constitutionality), the federal Education Department has dunked the University of Pennsylvania in the deep end of the swimming pool.

In a deal announced with the department yesterday to avoid the loss of federal funding, the university has revoked the victories and records racked up by William Thomas. He swam for the school’s women’s swim team under the name “Lia.” At stake was almost $1 billion in tax subsidies.

The university will also apologize to the women athletes whose victories were stolen by Thomas’ legalized cheating..............more........

You can usually tell which side won a war by simply observing ‘what happens’ after the hostilities end. Following the announcement of a ceasefire between Iran and Israel, millions of Iranians poured onto the streets of Tehran, chanting patriotic songs and waving flags in a spontaneous display of jubilation. In contrast, there were no festivities or celebrations in Tel Aviv or Jerusalem where the mood was noticeably more somber and gloomy. Yesterday, someone left a comment on my post about Zohran Mamdani that stuck with me in a way few internet comments ever do. It wasn’t defensive or hostile—it was sobering.

The commenter challenged me, not to just oppose Mamdani’s ideology, but to think about why his message resonates at all. Here's what they said:

“You really ought to ask yourself: why does his message resonate? Why did Russia have a revolution? People don’t wake up, make the espresso, make an omelet, look out the back window across their deck, the lake, the boat, ready for a day of country living, and say ‘You know what, honey… how about we start that revolution today?’ Nobody does that. Revolutions are made by very unhappy people. Why are they unhappy? Mostly because society largely doesn’t work for them… There is a lot of pain out there, and a lot of it is honest pain.”

They’re right. There is a lot of honest pain.

And if you’ve followed anything I’ve written over the last several years, you know I’ve been screaming into the void about how broken our monetary system is. We have created an economy where the top 10% get wealthier with each crisis, while the bottom 50% watches their standard of living deteriorate. I’ve described it here when talking about the GameStop crisis (33:40).

Pundits are debating when the Israel-Iran war will resume.  They are debating the West’s use of its Ukraine proxy in the war with Russia.  They are debating when and how the US conflict with China will flare up.  But no one is asking what is the point of the wars.  What are they about?

This is the most relevant question, especially when four of the parties to the conflicts have nuclear weapons.

The answer to the question is the wars are about hegemony.  Israel wants hegemony over the Muslim Middle East, and so does Washington.  And Washington wants hegemony over Russia and China.  

Israel’s war with Iran is about eliminating an opponent to Israel’s hegemony as expressed by the Zionist aspiration of Greater Israel–from the Nile to the Euphrates, recently expanded to include half of Saudi Arabia and all of Pakistan.

Washington’s war with Russia and China is based on the Wolfowitz doctrine that declares US hegemony over the world as the principle goal of American foreign policy.  No American president has yet repudiated this doctrine. 

So the wars are about nothing but the selfish aspirations of Israel for regional hegemony and Washington for world hegemony.  Be sure you comprehend that it is nothing but the selfish aspirations of two countries that are the cause of millions of dead, maimed, and dislocated peoples, for the destruction of entire countries in the Middle East –Iraq, Libya, Somalia, Syria, Palestine, and Lebanon, with Iran a current target and with Saudi Arabia, Pakistan, and Turkey waiting in the wings.  The US is responsible for massive deaths, injuries, displacement, and destruction in Ukraine (and Palestine) and for provocations of Russia, such as the attack on the Russian strategic triad that eventually will result in nuclear war, with China waiting in the wings.  .........more.........
