as a birthright quaker i'll certainly be following this new outbreak of british ignorance. the question beomes how long will this go on before enough brits tell their 'rulers' its time to give it up;

Quakers in Britain strongly condemned the violation of their place of worship which they say is a direct result of stricter protest laws removing virtually all routes to challenge the status quo.

Just before 7.15pm more than 20 uniformed police, some equipped with tasers, forced their way into Westminster Meeting House.

They broke open the front door without warning or ringing the bell first, searching the whole building and arresting six women attending the meeting in a hired room.

The Police, Crime, Sentencing and Courts Act 2022 and the Public Order Act 2023 have criminalised many forms of protest and allow police to halt actions deemed too disruptive.

Meanwhile, changes in judicial procedures limit protesters’ ability to defend their actions in court. All this means that there are fewer and fewer ways to speak truth to power.

Quakers support the right to nonviolent public protest, acting themselves from a deep moral imperative to stand up against injustice and for our planet.

A week after a group of aid workers disappeared in Gaza’s southern town of Rafah, the Palestinian Red Crescent Society (PRCS) says they are believed to have been “executed” by Israeli forces. 

A group of 15 paramedics and rescue workers from PRCS and Gaza’s Civil Defense “vanished” on March 22 in the Tal Sultan neighborhood in Rafah following an incident in which Israeli forces fired on ambulances and fire trucks.

They had arrived in response to an Israeli bombing in Rafah.

In a Saturday statement, PRCS said, “So far, no trace of our team members has been found.”

“Yesterday (March 28), we discovered the four ambulance vehicles completely destroyed and buried in the sand,” PRCS said, adding that they are believed to have been executed.

Civil Defense spokesperson Mahmoud Basal said that the body of one emergency worker had been found.

Basal said that when Civil Defense and Red Crescent teams were finally granted access to the area, they found “massive destruction” and widespread bulldozing...........more.........

If there were a prize for Orwellian-named conferences, then the one held this week in Paris would surely be a top contender.

Over the past month, there has been a slew of such gatherings in London, Brussels, and Paris. They have been conducted in a frenzy to thwart peace and prolong war – under the guise of “seeking security” against Russia.

Some 30 nations attended the latest Paris summit, convened by France’s Emmanuel Macron, and entitled “Building a Robust Peace for Ukraine and Europe”.

Europe is being gaslighted to view war as peace and accept that all economic resources must be dedicated to militarism. It is an insane war footing that is beyond any democratic or moral rationale.

European Union member states participated as well as NATO and non-EU nations Britain, Norway, and Canada. We should clarify that it was the elitist leaders of these countries who were present. Their lack of democratic mandate and authority is all too obvious to the people of Europe.

Some EU nations, such as Hungary and Slovakia, have protested commendably about the unwavering belligerence and obscene waste of public resources for fueling a proxy war in Ukraine...........more.........

The order tasks Vice President JD Vance, a member of the Smithsonian’s Board of Regents, with leading efforts to “remove improper ideology” across the institution.
