 inflation, brought to you by those in power, intentionally;

Costco is facing a lot of pressure right now. Shoppers are reporting extreme price increases, while food and product shortages are forcing the company to discontinue a long list of items and reintroduce purchasing limits at its warehouses. Several reports reveal that the wholesaler’s supply chain is eroding, and that is leading the company to close some locations across the country and consider shutting down all of its famous food courts. But the retailer’s problems don’t end quite there. Bloomberg just reported that Costco registered its worse sales levels since the onset of the pandemic, and markets reacted by sending its stock right to the ground. Given all the turmoil the warehouse chain is facing, analysts are starting to question whether Costco is going to get through the crisis in retail intact or suffer some distressing consequences.
Something strange seems to be happening at Costco warehouses right now. The chain famously known for its cost-saving deals and fair prices is now dealing with increasing backlash for its eye-popping price increases. Consumers are reporting price hikes of almost 100% on basic items, while others note that their weekly purchases at Costco have gone up by $100 in a short few months. The revelations are quite shocking, with some people arguing that the company may be price gouging its customers.
“Chicken pot pies went from $16 to $30. Not buying those anymore,” commented one shopper. “I SWEAR the Bone Sipping Broth was 10.99 just 2 years ago. Now it’s 19.99,” marking an almost 100% surge, according to the shopper. “Our $400 trips have turned into $500 trips seemingly overnight,” shared another person on Reddit.......more........

all crime matters but 'blm' crime matters many times worse according to 'our free press';

It’s a shocking, unthinkable crime: A man rushes a five-year-old neighbor boy playing outside and shoots him in the head, fatally, in broad daylight. But here’s what’s just as shocking: The national media — which couldn’t give enough ink to the death of criminal George Floyd — apparently don’t find this story newsworthy. It could be because unlike in the Floyd case, the victim is white and his killer is black.

As WSocTV.com reports, “A 25-year-old man accused of shooting his 5-year-old neighbor in the head at point blank range in Wilson, North Carolina on Sunday night has been charged with first-degree murder in the boy’s death.”

“Darius Nathaniel Sessoms, 25, was arrested Monday after fleeing the scene and is in the custody of Wilson Police and members of the U.S. Marshals Service Carolinas Regional Task Force, The Wilson Times reported,” the site continued.

“No details about a possible motive for the shooting have been released, but police said it was not random.”

“Little Cannon Hinnant was playing outside his father’s house with his two sisters, ages 7 and 8, in the city of Wilson around 5:30 p.m. Sunday,” the New York Post writes, adding detail. “Witness Doris Lybrand told WRAL.com that Sessoms ran up to the little boy, put the gun near his head and pulled the trigger before dashing back to his own house,” the paper continued......more........

 you might be among those who wonder why americans don't know history. this article shows you some of the answer;

Should college students be required to study the U.S. Constitution in order to graduate?

A bill pending before the North Carolina state Legislature — HB 96 — would mandate just that. Specifically, students seeking to graduate from the University of North Carolina system would be required to fulfill the following proposed requirements:

…Earn three credit hours of instruction in American History or American Government in order to graduate from a constituent institution of The University of North Carolina with a baccalaureate degree or from a community college with an associate degree. In order to satisfy this requirement, the course must meet the following requirements:

  • Provide a comprehensive overview of the major events and turning points of American history and government.
  • Require each student to read at least the following documents in their entirety:
    1. The Constitution of the United States of America.
    2. The Declaration of Independence.
    3. The Emancipation Proclamation.
    4. At least five essays from the Federalist Papers, as determined by the instructor.
    5. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.’s Letter from Birmingham Jail.
    6. The Gettysburg Address.
  • Include a cumulative final exam that makes up at least 20% of the total course grade on the principles, author perspectives, and relevant historic contexts of the required documents.

At first blush, most readers would likely agree with the bill’s purpose: require college students to study key documents from American history. Support for HB 96 would be spurred — undoubtedly — by surveys revealing the shameful level of familiarity with American History among college graduates.

Recent studies have revealed that college graduates have a shocking lack of knowledge when it comes to U.S. history. In a survey conducted by the American Council of Trustees and Alumni, only 24 percent of college graduates were able to identify correctly one of the foundational principles of the U.S. government, which is the purpose of the Bill of Rights......more........

The US Dollar is Finished

Are You Ready for High Inflation and Collapsing Living Standards?

Paul Craig Roberts

US power since World War II has been based on its financial dominance stemming from the dollar being the reserve currency held by central banks in place of gold.  As the dollar was the currency used to settle international trade accounts, every country needed dollars.  That ensured a large demand for dollars to absorb the supply of dollars from the growing US budget and trade deficits.  In effect, the dollar as world reserve currency allowed the US to pay its bills by printing money.

In recent years Washington’s abuse of US financial power, such as sanctions on Russia and other countries and the theft of Russian central bank reserves, has taught the world that Washington uses the dollar-based system for coercive purposes to deny other countries independent, foreign, economic, and trade policies.  Consequently, as Pepe Escobar explains, there has been a rapid move away from the use of the dollar as reserve currency.  In other words, the demand for dollars is shrinking. https://www.lewrockwell.com/2023/04/no_author/de-dollarization-kicks-into-high-gear/

But not the supply. The supply is exploding.  Budget deficits are running in the trillions of dollars while the Federal Reserve shrinks economic growth and the tax base, and nothing can be done about the US trade deficit. The decision to offshore US manufacturing was an economy-wrecking decision.  The goods that Apple, Nike, Levi, and all the others make in China and Asia enter the US as imports when they are marketed in the US.  The US, having moved its manufacturing offshore, has little to export to cover the trade deficit resulting from imports. By using their trade surpluses with the US to purchase US Treasuries, foreigners financed the US budget deficit and US wars.  As countries increasingly settle their trade imbalances in other currencies,  foreign demand for US debt is declining.  ........more.......
