i've reached one of those, 'i don't recognize my country' moments i've read about others reaching. the covid crap is the reason and all of the machinations surrounding it. this essay below shows how the 'official' version is the only one allowed, though obviously this isn't the first occasion in which the obvious questions aren't allowed, this time is much worse, and the contradictions are obvious;

The whole issue comes down to a question of trust, really. Do you trust the government? If so, after all we’ve seen over the past year—at all levels, local, state, and federal—may I ask WHY?!?

Let’s assume for a minute, that the vaccination campaign is led by people who genuinely want to end the current crisis and restore the country to “normal”. Let’s also assume, that they believe that mass vaccination is the best way to achieve that objective by preventing the spread of the virus and, thus, reducing the death toll. Is that sufficient justification for silencing vaccine critics and conducting a nation-wide brainwashing operation aimed at controlling public opinion?

No, it’s not. People need to hear both sides of the story, in fact, that’s the only way they can make an informed decision about how they wish to proceed. The media has no right to commandeer the airwaves and control whatever people hear and see. And they have no right to deliberately exclude the medical professionals and other experts whose views conflict with the official narrative. The only way that people can offer their informed consent for vaccination, is if they’re able to weigh the risks and benefits for themselves. But that’s only possible if they have access to many diverse sources of information which, at present, they don’t. Increasingly, the only message that most people hear is the one that is provided by the government in collaboration with industry honchos and other elites. Two recent shootings in Atlanta, Georgia and Boulder, Colorado are fueling team-left’s long desired ban on “assault-style” rifles like the AR-15. 

But, according to data from the FBI, far more murders are committed with handguns, knives, or even bare hands.

The most recent data from 2019 shows that although firearms do account for the majority of homicides – 10,258 – the number of homicides committed using a rifle – 364 – is much smaller, according to the Daily Caller. 

Handguns were listed as the primary weapon in 6,368 cases, while shotguns accounted for an additional 200. 45 cases named “other gun” as the weapon and in 3,281 cases, the type of firearm was not listed. 

Assuming the unspecified cases follow the same ratio as the reported firearm types, the number of rifle homicides would increase by approximately 120, bringing the total number from 364 to 484. 

Meanwhile, a whopping 600 people were killed with what the FBI calls “personal weapons,” including hands, fists or feet. 

Knives, evidently, accounted for 1,476 homicides. 

That is three times the amount of homicides committed using a rifle. 

Despite the data, democrats have long pushed to tighten gun control laws, specifically banning assault rifles. 

While the AR-15 is typically the weapon of choice for highly-publicized “mass shootings,” hence why there are calls to ban them, it is critical to look at the exact definition of the term. 

A “mass shooting” is defined as any scenario in which at least four people are killed. This means that numbers can be dramatically skewed by gang-related and drug-related activity.

The current representative of the US empire finally held his first full press conference yesterday, an embarrassing and undignified affair which saw a gaggle of obsequious imperial stenographers gather round to make believe that important policy decisions about the operation of the most powerful government in the world are actually being made by this dried up empty husk of a man who can barely think or talk.

Once again we heard the US empire babbling about the plight of Muslims in China, with the words tumbling out of Biden’s dementia-addled brain that he “made it clear that no American president, at least one did, but no American president had ever backed down from speaking out of what’s happening in the Uyghurs.”

By “what’s happening in the Uyghurs” Biden was attempting to articulate a concern for the human rights of Uyghur Muslims in Xinjiang province, a talking point the US empire has been fallaciously and dishonestly pushing with more and more aggression as attempts to halt the rise of China escalate in urgency. And literally seconds later, Biden made it clear that that is exactly what this feigned concern for Muslim lives was indeed really about.

“So I see stiff competition with China,” Biden said. “China has an overall goal, and I don’t criticize them for the goal, but they have an overall goal to become the leading country in the world, the wealthiest country in the world and the most powerful country in the world. Republican senators say a Biden official urged them to delete photos they took of an overcrowded migrant facility they toured at the southern border on Friday. 

Sen. Ted Cruz and 18 of his GOP colleagues inspected a shelter in Donna, Texas, which is at more than 700 percent capacity amid a surge of illegal crossings into the United States. 

Indiana Sen. Mike Braun told The Washington Examiner that the direction came from a Biden aide who accompanied the group on the tour. 

'There was one of Biden's representatives. I felt sorry for the lady because she actually talked to me about deleting a picture, but by the time she got to me, all those other pictures were taken, and that shows you the hypocrisy,' Braun said Saturday. 

He added that Border Patrol officials inside the shelter also urged the Republicans not to snap any images. 

'They were telling us that because they had to,' Braun claimed. 

Despite promising 'transparency', Biden officials have refused to let journalists into the overcrowded Donna facility - as criticism surrounding the border crisis continues to grow. 

However, the Republicans refused to abide by the requests, instead sharing their images to social media.

US Secretary of State Antony Blinken has demanded La Paz release a group of former Bolivian government officials, including ex-President Jeanine Anez, detained on sedition charges as he calls their arrests “anti-democratic.”

“The Bolivian government should release detained former officials,” Blinken said in a Twitter post on Saturday, demanding an “independent and transparent inquiry” into the human rights and due process issues related to the former interim president’s case.

The US secretary of state also noted that Washington is “deeply concerned” by what he called “growing signs of anti-democratic behavior” and politicization of the legal system in the Latin American country.

The right-wing politician, who ruled Bolivia as interim president for a year, and several of her associates were detained earlier in March. They were charged with sedition, terrorism and conspiracy over their coming to power in November 2019.
