two pcr posts on one day. in this you'll discover more evidence that 'our free press' isn't and see bits of why that's the case with a resignation letter from the editor of the new york time;

A Country Without an Honest Media Is Lost
Paul Craig Roberts
Dear Readers,
For some time I have reported to you that in place of a media, a media that our founding fathers relied on to protect our society, the United States has had a propaganda ministry whose sole purpose is to destroy our society.
I learned of New York Times editor Bari Weiss’ resignation letter to A. G. Sulzberger from a relative and from friends who called to ask if I wrote the letter as it sounds so much like me.
No,  of course I did not write the letter. This is an extraordinary letter written by a journalist of real principle and integrity who realized that such highly valuable journalistic traits were no longer welcome at the New York Times.  Bari Weiss’ letter is better than anything I could have written. She lived the experience. I could only infer it.
As a former Wall Street Journal associate editor and columnist, as Business Week’s first and for some years only outside columnist in its history, as columnist for Scripps Howard newspapers, for Creators Syndicate in Los Angeles, as a regular contributer to the Los Angeles Times, the New York Times, the San Diego Union, and a number of other once prominant newspapers, and as a regular guest on the TV networks, I am no longer permitted on any of these media platforms today.
The reason is that truth does not correspond to their message............read more.........
pcr speaks about the reduction of 'our choices' in the commercial world which was once called monopoly and we have a game named after it. the thing is it was once a target for 'our' government and now seems to be its aim;

Monopoly Is the New Normal

CNN is happy to report more bad news that can help the presstitutes unseat President Trump:
“Mass unemployment. Surging bankruptcies. An unprecedented health crisis. It’s going to be really ugly. Here come the big bank earnings.” https://www.cnn.com/2020/07/13/investing/bank-earnings-recession/index.html
The report has interesting information that CNN doesn’t seem to have noticed. CNN reports that banks are in trouble because of low interest rates.  But don’t banks pay low interest rates and charge high rates? Interest on credit card balances is 19%, and if you miss a payment the interest rate can rise to 29%.
CNN reports a S&P Global Ratings estimate of $2.1 trillion in credit losses due to the pandemic and says the five largest US banks have set aside $35 billion against loans expected to go bust.
That is not much of a cushion for the loans of our five largest banks. Unless rules have changed and I am mistaken, bank reserves are an offset to profits. If the five banks expect $35 billion in profits and put that amount in reserves, they have no profits to report and no taxes to pay. Later when they need a stock price boost, they can stop adding to reserves, and their earnings will show a big jump. .........read more..........

slavery wasn't why the civil war was fought and it wasn't a civil war but a war of succession, as you'll learn in this article;

From the 1870s to the late 1950s, there was an unofficial truce between the North and South. Each side recognized and saluted the courage of the other; it was conceded that the North fought to preserve the Union and because Old Glory had been fired on, and the Southerner fought for liberty and to defend his home; the two great heroes of the war were Abraham Lincoln and Robert E. Lee; and the South admitted that slavery was wrong but never conceded that it was cruel.
Around 1960, the Democratic Party—led by Lyndon B. Johnson—advanced the modern incarnation of identity politics. It worked very well for them. In the election of 1956, 75% of African-Americans voted Republican. By 1964, more than 90% of them voted Democrat, and they have been doing so until 2020. As part of their effort to control and manipulate the black vote, the Leftists and their myrmidons advanced the myth that the Civil War was all about slavery. It wasn’t. It was, in my opinion, about money, more than anything else. Now, at this point, I know some of my liberal friends will bristle up and say: “It was too all about slavery!” Well, you are entitled to your opinion, but let me ask you this: What was slavery about?
