another serving of your thin blue line foolishness;

Nate Carter is bringing a $3 million lawsuit against the city of Chattanooga, Tennessee, its police department, and the officer responsible for his tasing and wrongful arrest.
According to the complaint, the April 2018 incident began when police responded to a 911 call about a man threatening the caller with a gun. The caller described the suspect as a black man with short hair, who was heavy-set and wearing green and black pants.
The suspect had fled by the time police arrived. Instead, they saw Carter, who was wearing a purple t-shirt and black shorts. Officer Cody Thomas asked Carter to identify himself. Carter, who said he was checking his mail outside, responded that Thomas was not welcome to come to his house. The situation escalated with Thomas telling Carter, “How about you watch your mouth before your ass gets thrown in the back of my car.”
Thomas pulled out a Taser and threatened to shoot Carter’s “fucking dog,” which was barking in the front yard. Carter attempted to go into his house, at which point Thomas shot Carter in the back with his taser, causing him to fall on his front porch. Carter managed to make his way inside, and Thomas called for backup. Carter then re-emerged from his home with his family while several officers, including Thomas, pointed guns and tasers toward Carter, his family, and his dog. After the family was out of the way, the officers moved to arrest Carter.

caitlin herein explores some of the aspects of the assange persecution/prosecution, like 'freedom of the press' vanishing and its implications;

Since I published my last article about about the idiotic “Assange isn’t a journalist” smear, this talking point has become more and more commonplace in online discourse. It’s very important to defenders of the political status quo for us all to believe that Assange is not a journalist, because otherwise that would mean they’re cheering for a dangerous precedent which would allow for the prosecution of journalists who exposed the truth about US government malfeasance. And that would mean cognitive dissonance, which all defenders of the political status quo spend most of their day-to-day mental energy running away from.
So in the past few days, editorials like this one from free press avatar Peter Greste have popped up all over the place with their own definitions of what journalism is in order to argue why that label can’t possibly apply to Assange. All of these definitions ultimately boil down to the argument that because Assange doesn’t publish leaks in a way that they feel journalism ought to be practiced, it isn’t journalism and therefore sets no legal precedent for journalists around the world. As though the US government is going to be consulting their feelings about what specifically constitutes journalism the next time they decide to imprison a journalist for doing what Assange did.
It doesn’t work that way, sugar tits. Assange is being prosecuted by the Trump administration for standard journalistic practices, he stands no chance of receiving a fair trial, and it is very likely that he will be hit with far more serious charges for his activities once on US soil. The next time the US government, under Trump or someone else, sees another journalist anywhere in the world doing something similar to what Assange did, there will be nothing stopping them from saying, “We need to lock that person up like we did Assange; they’re doing the same sort of thing.”.........https://caitlinjohnstone.com/2019/04/15/the-us-government-wont-care-about-your-definition-of-journalism-after-the-assange-precedent-is-set/
must be a 911 morning for illustrations;

this is a picture of the van the five dancing israeli's were driving when arrested on 911. it may lead you to begin thinking so i'm sorry for putting that on you protected supporter of the state that you are;

here is one of those lists you see occasionally of the ten this or that, and in this case its the reasons 'our' civilization is collapsing. i suspect you will agree unless of course you are a snowflake;

Western civilization has brought us stirring works of art and beautiful forms of music. It has brought us the concept of representative democracy in which every person is created equal and has equal rights before the law, which has freed countless people from the tyrannical regimes of unelected bureaucrats.
Inventors in the West have been responsible for the creation of the telephone, the discovery of electricity, the development of space travel, and incredible advances in medicine. Our modern technological culture would not exist without Western society, and the world would be a much darker and more impoverished place if Western thinkers had never transformed their dreams into reality.
Yet some contend that Western society has also brought us the enslavement of blacks, the exploitation of indigenous cultures, and a global hegemony that diminishes the overall well-being of mankind. These detractors have set out to dismantle the fruits of Western civilization, decrying the legacy of European culture as a “patriarchy” that systematically oppresses women, minorities, and fringe groups while upholding the values of “white male privilege.”.......http://listverse.com/2018/04/13/10-indications-that-western-society-is-collapsing/
this display of 'law enforcement' is orwellian at least if not absolutely crazy as i suspect you will also think after reading the last paragraph at the link below;

CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. —  Denouncing a Virginia town’s draconian lockdown measures as a clear example of a dysfunctional, excessive government that overreaches, overspends, and is out of sync with the Constitution, The Rutherford Institute has asked a federal court to hold government officials responsible for adopting costly security protocols lacking in common sense and intended to chill First Amendment activity.
The Rutherford Institute’s actions come in response to a motion filed by the City of Charlottesville to dismiss a Fourth Amendment lawsuit against the City over its August 2018 “state of emergency” lockdown measures. In accordance with the emergency declaration, local, state and federal law enforcement agencies locked down portions of the small college town, deployed 700 police officers—many in riot gear—to patrol portions of the downtown area, restricted the free movement of persons on public streets, and imposed a broad ban on innocuous items such as metal food and beverage containers, aerosol sprays, glass bottles, skateboards, masks and hoods. The Institute’s lawsuit arose after police swarmed a disabled war veteran and arrested him for lawfully purchasing canned iced tea, bug spray, lightbulbs and razor blades, which were banned as part of the city’s pre-emptive measures to discourage civil unrest, all the while allowing him to carry two firearms—which were not among the city’s prohibited items—through a security checkpoint.
“Despite any credible threats to public safety, government officials embarked on a militarized exercise intended to intimidate the residents of Charlottesville—once home to Thomas Jefferson—into going along with the lockdown, the invasion of their privacy, and the dismantling of every constitutional right intended to serve as a bulwark against government abuses,” said constitutional attorney John W. Whitehead, president of The Rutherford Institute and author of Battlefield America: The War on the American People. “This is exactly the kind of mischief that Jefferson warned against when he wrote, ‘In questions of power, then, let no more be heard of confidence in man, but bind him down from mischief by the chains of the Constitution.’”......https://fromthetrenchesworldreport.com/overkill-govt-officials-deploy-700-police-spend-3-million-to-lockdown-city-only-to-arrest-disabled-veteran-for-buying-canned-iced-tea-bug-spray/244999
