the woodpile report comes out every tuesday morning, at the latest. i've been reading it for years. there's much to be found there on many levels. here below are two excerpts from today's edition.
he includes his opinions and links to those of others among other stuff;

 For one, the entire electorate has been "marginalized". Did DC request our approval for endless wars, unrestricted immigration, affirmative action, same sex marriage, bank bailouts, ObamaCare? Or did DC request approval from itself? Call it what it is, Government by Announcement.

Laura Wood at Thinking Housewife cautions against believing Judge Kavanaugh is much more than another swamp critter. An excerpt:
Brett Kavanaugh is not your friend. He is not your savior, any more than the vulgar and lying demagogue, Donald Trump, is your friend or savior. Kavanaugh is just one more lackey for an entirely creepy establishment.
Chuck Baldwin writes: “A Republican-dominated Supreme Court gave us Roe v Wade, homosexual marriage and Obamacare. In fact, Republican appointments have dominated the SC for the last 45 years. All of this talk about Republican presidents appointing pro-life, constitutionalist, originalist justices is just so much hot air.

this image certainly hits a nail squarely on its head, unless you have a dog in this fight;

 our current reality described by a former cia agent when looking at how 'our' government is creating the troubles we see around us;

The nuclear war doomsday clock maintained on the Bulletin of Atomic Scientists website has advanced to two minutes before midnight, the closest point to possible atomic apocalypse since the end of the Cold War. In 1995 the clock was at fourteen minutes to midnight, but the opportunity to set it back even further was lost as the United States and its European allies took advantage of a weakened Russia to advance NATO into Eastern Europe, setting the stage for a new cold war, which is now underway.
It is difficult to imagine how the United States might avoid a new war in the Middle East given the recent statements that have come out of Washington, and, given that the Russians are also active in the region, a rapid and massive escalation of something that starts out as a minor incident should not be ruled out.
President Donald Trump set the tone when he harangued the United Nations last Tuesday, warning that the United States would go it alone in defense of its perceived interests, with no regard for international bodies that exist to limit armed conflict and punish those who commit war crimes.
Trump’s 35-minute speech featured an anticipated long section targeting Iran. He commented that:

pcr in this article will show a sharp turning point in the life of 'our free press', and not for the better;

Paul Craig Roberts
In my September 24 column, “Truth Is Evaporating Before Our Eyes,” https://www.paulcraigroberts.org/2018/09/24/truth-is-evaporating-before-our-eyes/ I used the destruction of the CBS news team that broke the Abu Ghraib story and the story of President George W. Bush’s non-performance of his Texas Air Force National Guard duties to demonstrate how accusations alone could destroy a Peabody Award winning, 26 year veteran producer of CBS News, Mary Mapes, and the established news anchor Dan Rather.
I have many times written that it was President Bill Clinton who destroyed the independent US media when he permitted 90 percent of the US media to be concentrated in six mega-corporations that were in the entertainment and other businesses and not in the news business. This unprecedented concentration of media was against all American tradition and destroyed the reliance that our Founding Fathers placed on a free press to keep government accountable to the people.
Until I read Mary Mapes book, Truth and Duty (St. Martin’s Press, 2005), I was unaware of how this monopolization of the media in violation of the Sherman Anti-trust Act and American tradition had proceeded to destroy honest reporting.
Here is what happened. The Texas Air National Guard was a place the elite placed their sons to avoid the Vietnam War draft. Copies of documents written by Lt. Col. Jerry B. Killian describing George W. Bush’s ability to jump the large waiting list hoping to avoid the war, Bush’s non-compliance with National Guard requirements and Bush’s unauthorized departure to another state were given to CBS. The CBS team worked for many months to confirm or discredit the documents. The information in the documents proved to be consistent with the interviews of people acquainted with George W. Bush’s time in the Texas National Guard.

 this article is a bit longer than perhaps necessary but it makes some very clear points the nation aught to be considering about what the law is, and isn't, or maybe we just aught to be getting up lynch mobs from here on out and ignore that pesky legal crap, eh?;

When Christine Blasey Ford accused U.S. Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh of attempted rape, she, her Leftist lawyers and her crackpot supporters demanded that the typical procedures for getting at the truth be turned upside down. This has shocked normal Americans. But it just means that Campus Rape-Culture Hysteria has escaped the asylum and is now invading America.
Consider:
  • First, Ford backers didn’t want her to appear before the Senate Judiciary Committee, abrogating Kavanaugh’s right to face his accuser and permitting her to avoid supporting her accusations.
  • Then they wanted Kavanaugh to testify first, which would force Kavanaugh to answer her cloudy charges before he heard them.
  • Third, Kavanaugh would have to prove his innocence because when it comes to rape, we must believe the accuser.
Recent Campus Rape-Culture atrocities make it clear where these ground rules came from.

 kunstler has been batting a thousand lately though you might want to admit he's been provided with great subject matter, and this kavanaugh circus is certainly a bonanza for those who wish to see, and be provided with great evidence about, 'our democracy';

The Kavanaugh hearing underscored another eerie condition in contemporary USA life that offers clues about the combined social, economic, and political collapse that I call the long emergency: the destruction of all remaining categorical boundaries for understanding behavior: truth and untruth, innocent and guilty, childhood and adulthood, public and private. The destination of all this confusion is a society that can’t process any quarrel coherently, leaving everyone unsatisfied and adrift, and no actual problems resolved.
One element of the story is clear, though. The Democratic party, in the absence of real monsters to slay, has become the party devoted to sowing chaos, mainly by inventing new, imaginary monsters using the machinery of politics, the way the Catholic Church manufactured monsters of heresy during the Spanish Inquisition in its attempt to regulate “belief.”
“I believe her” is the new totalitarian rallying cry, conveniently disposing of any obligation to establish the facts of any ambiguous matter. It was stealthily inserted in our national life during the Obama years, when Title IX “guidelines” originally written to correct imbalances in college sports funding for men and women were extended to adjudicate sexual encounters on campus. The result was the setting up of officially sanctioned kangaroo courts where due process was thrown out the window — by people who have should have known better: college presidents, deans, and faculty. That experiment produced not a few spectacular injustices, such as the Duke Lacrosse team fake rape fiasco, the University of Virginia fake rape fraternity incident (provoked by a mis-reported storey in Rolling Stone Magazine), and the Columbia University “Mattress Girl” saga — all cases eventuating in punishing lawsuits against the institutions that allowed them to spin out of control.
