Iran has warned French President Emmanuel Macron that those behind “sinister alliances” will eventually face the consequences of their own actions amid widespread unrest in France.

In a Sunday post on X, Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Esmaeil Baghaei criticized Macron for applying a double standard toward protests, contrasting his January support for “peaceful assembly without fear of punishment” in Iran with his response to ongoing unrest in France.

“Back in January, you prescribed ‘peaceful assembly without fear of punishment’ for those attacking our law enforcement centers and public institutions at the behest of foreign malign actors,” Baghaei wrote, addressing Macron.

However, he added, Macron had quickly declared that the destruction of and attacks on state institutions in France would not be tolerated and that those responsible would face swift punishment.

The Iranian spokesman also recalled Macron’s message to the US president before the US-Israeli war against Iran in late February, in which the French leader had said, “We can do great things on Iran.”.......more..........
