Chicago Mayor Brandon Johnson has always had the wrong answer to the problem of armed violent criminals wreaking havoc on the city’s mean streets.

As Chicago continues to have dozens of armed attacks, many of them fatal, weekend after weekend, Johnson has struggled with legitimate plans to alleviate the mass violence. Last month, he signed an executive order creating a worthless Office of Gun Violence Prevention. The effort is set up for failure from the start, however, since it focuses on guns rather than violent criminals.

“For far too long in this city, we have not met the scale of the challenge facing our residents with the level of investment or urgency needed to transcend the systematic neglect and separation that has left lasting scars between our communities,” Johnson bragged upon signing the order. “Today we tell a different story, one rooted in innovation, coordination, and sustained investment in community safety.”

More recently, on July 29, Johnson signed another executive order, this one again ignoring violent criminals while targeting lawful members of the firearm industry. According to a report on Fox32chicago.com, the new order directs the Department of Procurement Services, in consultation with the Chicago Police Department, the Office of Public Safety Administration, and the Department of Law, to develop new procurement standards for firearms for city agencies within 90 days.........more..........
