 “It is just so grotesque,” said co-host Ali Abunimah in reaction to Jared Kushner’s Davos presentation of his plans for Gaza, on The Electronic Intifada Livestream on 22 January.

The real-estate developer presented a “master plan,” “investment opportunities,” AI images of high-rise buildings and ports in Gaza, peppered with talk of “hope,” “peace” and “best practices.”

What he never mentioned was the word “Palestinians.”

And Kushner lavishly praised his father-in-law – who is the only reason he has been given such power over an occupied, colonized people – US President Donald Trump.

“Everyone thought it was impossible to end this war. You never gave up,” Kushner said to Trump, sitting nearby.

Trying to survive

Abunimah contrasted Kushner’s declaration with the account from journalist Ahmed Al-Najjar, who spoke from Gaza earlier in the Livestream.

“The relentless bombing, the detonations, people freezing to death, 15 people murdered by Israel in the last 24 hours alone, 500 since the so-called ceasefire started, a million people without shelter living in tents,” summarized Abunimah.

Al-Najjar reported that people in Gaza continue to bury family, friends and colleagues over 100 days after the so-called ceasefire.......more.........
