It has been close to two weeks since the Israeli army launched its latest offensive on the occupied West Bank city of Jenin, its refugee camp, and the surrounding towns. Dubbed Operation “Iron Wall”, the operation has featured a ground invasion and airstrikes, which have caused massive destruction in the city, particularly the Jenin refugee camp. As of Friday, January 31, At least 19 Palestinians had been killed by the Israeli military, including a child as young as two-years-old. Dozens more have been injured, and thousands of Palestinians have been displaced from the refugee camp.

The Israeli attack, which Israel claims is a “counter-terrorism”, began on the heels of a similar operation by the Palestinian Authority, which Palestinian officials said was aimed at targeting armed resistance groups in the camp, and “restoring order”. Israeli officials have said that once the army completes its operation in the camp, it will remain there, indicating that this invasion may be different from the numerous operations Israel has launched on Jenin in recent years.  ..........more.......
