larry johnson speaks on cheetos big day;
First, an explanation about my sartorial choice. I donned my Fourth of July shirt in honor of Donald Trump’s inauguration. While I am very critical of many of the decisions and actions of my government, I am still an American and want my country to be the best in terms of morality, ethics and economics.
It was remarkable watching former Presidents Clinton, George W and Obama showing up to witness the swearing in. I can only imagine what they were thinking as Donald Trump delivered his inaugural address. Trump, without mentioning names, repudiated their policies and vowed to put the United States on a different course. We have never seen anything like this.
Barack Obama showed up alone, Michelle stayed home. I don’t know if the rumors about a possible divorce for the Obamas is true, but this visual from today certainly fuels that talk. She chose not to stand by her man.
There was speculation that the ceremony was moved inside because of security concerns. That is not true. Forty years ago, Ronald Reagan did the same thing because the temperature was 26 degrees Farenheit. Today was colder than 40-years ago — 24 degrees Farenheit.
While temperature outside was frigid, Trump was on fire throughout the day — reportedly signing 200 Executive Orders. He did some at the Capitol after the Congressional lunch, then traveled to the US Air Arena, where he signed some more to the cheers of onlookers and then headed to the White House. The signing ceremony inside the Oval Office was pure theater. Trump provided play-by-play commentary on each of the orders and fielded questions from a gaggle of reporters. The contrast with Joe Biden was part of Trump’s effort to show that there is a new sheriff in town...........more.........
