you can't succeed in a conversation/argument using facts when your opponent is basing their foundation on emotion. it becomes a matter of heredity as in, if it was good enough for daddy, or my favorite talking head, its what i have adopted as my stand. when asking such folk for reasons behind their chosen position they frequently become aggressive.
