for some time i've been making the case that 'our' political system has devolved into the equivalent of professional wrestling, and here its in print being made by others;

Are you all familiar with the term “kayfabe”? It’s a term associated with pro wrestling that describes idea of presenting staged performances as authentic or real. Fake drama, fake tension, fake feuds. This is what politics at the highest level is folks. Two teams, pretending to hate each other.

Kayfabe- (in professional wrestling) the fact or convention of presenting staged performances as genuine or authentic.
As we already know, the left right paradigm is a tool of divide and conquer over the masses. You are presented with two (and only two) choices for a political tribe to align with. These parties are essentially large tribes for the public to identify with, and since there are only two, it conveniently splits us up 50/50 into two separate “teams”.
Many of us believe that at the upper echelon, the politicians and elites within the political system who are elected to represent us, are actually convening with one another and putting on a show of fake and scripted drama, feuds, and rivalries, as they live lavish lifestyles of wealth and advantage that the rest of us are not “entitled to”.
Jesse Ventura is in the unique position of having served in both pro wrestling and politics as governor of Minnesota. In this interview, he highlights the similarities between the two.
”Politics today IS pro wrestling. I mean by that, that the democrats and republicans in front of you and the public is going to tell how they hate each other. But as soon as the cameras go off, they’re all going out to dinner together and they’re all buddies cutting deals”*
The point of this charade is to make the tension between the two parties seem realistic and legitimate to the public, who deeply identify with their political teams as part of their egos. It’s essential to “breathe life” into the theatrics of the left/right paradigm, to keep it relevant and to keep the partisan tensions high among the public, ultimately making them easier to control. Your federal politicians are nothing more than actors playing a role.
Now, at your local and possibly even state level, the people on politics, although often corrupt, are likely just carrying out the position naturally. But, at the federal level, with all of the media attention and the press coverage, and all of the implications of being a democratically elected official, I suspect they are going so far as to pre-plan, script, and coordinate the themes of partisan tension and the individual rivalries that will be sold to the public throughout the course of their time serving. By now, it’s evident that members from both parties serve the same corporate/banker crime syndicate, and they support the same policies of more war, more spending, and fewer civil liberties for the public.
The more we buy into and believe that we have two legitimately democratically elected parties filled with people who truly care about their constituents and party ideals, the more this crime syndicate will stay in power. We are watching a puppet show between two groups of actors, and instead of holding the puppet masters accountable, we’re holding the puppets accountable and buying into the show..........https://www.reddit.com/r/conspiracy/comments/b3kcss/are_you_all_familiar_with_the_term_kayfabe_its_a/
