 There was a certain inevitability about what happened in Dover on Saturday. Several hundred protesters, many masked, blocked roads around the port, traffic backed up, the police arrived and engaged with them and, after a few hours, everyone went home. No arrests were made. The immediate temptation is to treat this as another example of the disruptive protest which has become familiar in Britain over the past decade, except this time coming from the Right rather than the Left. There is some truth in that, although it misses the more interesting point. What happened at Dover was a reaction, in both senses of that rather unfashionable word, and it has been a very long time coming.

There is an important distinction to make at the outset. Opposition to uncontrolled immigration is hardly an eccentric minority enthusiasm which has suddenly emerged from the political fringes. Immigration has been one of the great unresolved questions of British politics for decades. Governments have been elected promising to reduce it, Brexit was fought, among other things, around the question of control over borders and immigration policy, and opinion polling has repeatedly demonstrated substantial public concern about the issue. The small boats crossing the Channel have meanwhile provided an almost daily visual representation of a state apparently unable, or unwilling, to exercise the control which voters reasonably expect of it. Whatever one’s preferred immigration policy, therefore, it is difficult to maintain that the people protesting at Dover are simply attempting to impose some obscure political demand which has never been tested democratically. A very large number of British voters have been asking governments to control immigration for years. They have voted for parties promising to do so, they voted in a referendum in which control of immigration was plainly part of the political argument, and they have watched successive governments promise action while immigration continued at levels which bear little resemblance to what much of the electorate thought it was voting for..........more.........

It has been said that no good deed goes unpunished, and this folk wisdom applies to the American “civil rights” movement. For over 75 years, white America has spent trillions and tolerated draconian government intrusion in our private lives to promote racial equality. Not only has this failed, but black animus toward whites has increased. There is no prospect that blacks will lessen their anti-white hostility regardless of white generosity. This has been an ongoing catastrophe of Biblical proportions.

Two factors help explain this paradox. First, a subtle shift in this “help” has occurred, namely going from bestowing material benefits such as anti-discrimination laws, to trying to change the psychology of blacks to transform them into whites.

This typically calls for imparting “bourgeois values.” Blacks must get married before having children, stay wedded and monogamous, be good parents, eschew drugs and crime, avoid coarse language and be patriotic. Other prescribed “white” values include thrift, deferred gratification, industriousness, prioritizing education, and being on time. Most blacks accurately see this as being told to “act white.” The insurmountable practical problem is that most blacks don’t want to be “white,” even if it came with all the material benefits.

At the same time, the benefits of anti-crime policies, and the alleged benefits of gentrification and even greater personal safety hold little allure for blacks. It is my view that whatever they may say, blacks prefer to live in a world where criminality is commonplace, illegitimacy is the norm, family responsibilities are minimal and no stigma is attached to chronic idleness. Of all American ethnic or religious groups, with the possible exceptions of Muslims, blacks are the only ones stigmatized as needing cultural remediation..........more...........

One meaningless jingoistic cliché I am subjected to constantly is “I love my country.” This gibberish for the most part is pure nonsense, and is rarely defined. When most use this term, do they love the people, land, culture, or the government? My take from all my many thousands of encounters of this phrase, is that it means I love my country right or wrong, which is pure nationalism. I say this because that is what I see and hear with my own eyes and ears. This is why many raise blood-soaked flags in honor of aggressive war. This is why most will stand hatless with their hand over their heart during the ‘national’ anthem, this is why most will pledge their dying allegiance to the State, and this is why most all perpetually worship the military and those who falsely claim to ‘serve’ the people.

They rarely if ever say I love all the people, because they do not. They rarely if ever say I love the landscape, and they rarely if ever say I love the culture. This cliché is used almost entirely under the assumption that one is showing false ‘patriotism’ to the national state, which indicates agreement with what those controlling the nation-state do in their name. This includes taxation, theft, economic destruction, inflation, regulation, mass brutal enforcement, and aggressive warmongering. In other words, as mentioned earlier, they love the State, right or wrong. This attitude is pure reverent worship of the nation and government, which is the exact opposite of honest ‘patriotism.’ Hypocrisy has already taken over at this point.........more.........
