 Iran’s Intelligence Ministry says the enemies, having failed to achieve their professed objectives through military aggression, are now intensifying attempts to destabilize the Islamic Republic through economic pressure, cyberattacks, terrorism, and psychological warfare.

In a statement released on Wednesday, the ministry said hostile powers are seeking to compensate for their defeat on the battlefield by escalating a “hidden intelligence-security war” against Iran.

“The enemy, defeated in military war, is seeking to produce achievements for itself, even through soft war,” the statement said.

It added that the enemies openly pursued the overthrow and partition of Iran during the recent war but failed to realize those goals through military assaults.

The US and Israel initiated a war of aggression against Iran on February 28, some eight months after they carried out unprovoked attacks on the country, martyring Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei.

Iran immediately retaliated against the strikes by launching barrages of missiles and drone attacks on the Israeli-occupied territories as well as on US bases and interests in regional countries.........more.........

 Leading American political theorist John Mearsheimer(pictured above) says the United States and Israel have failed in their war against Iran, emphasizing that Washington “does not know how to extricate itself” from the quagmire.

“At the beginning of the war, [US President Donald] Trump and [Israel’s prime minister Benjamin] Netanyahu thought a surprise and heavy military operation that would plunge Tehran into ‘shock and awe,’ along with what is called decapitation of the power pyramid, would quickly lead to victory. But they failed, and the war became protracted,” Mearsheimer said at an event titled Forum Focused on Iran.

Mearsheimer noted that all Persian Gulf Arab countries are deeply worried amid emerging reports showing US bases in the Persian Gulf have been damaged far more than initially stated.

He added that Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Kuwait, and Qatar are all pleading with the US not to resume the war because they know the Islamic Republic has the capacity to retaliate and heavily hit targets in their countries if the war escalates.

Mearsheimer stressed that Washington has no clear plan to resolve the war, telling the audience, “This is going to have enormously negative consequences for all of you. You have to understand this. We are in a very difficult predicament in Iran, and it was predictable.”.........more..........

 The ceasefire in southern Lebanon has done very little to actually stop the fighting in the area, with Israeli forces killing hundreds of civilians in the ongoing offensives since the deal went into effect. Even this dubious ceasefire is proving increasingly controversial within the Israeli cabinet, however, with multiple ministers demanding it be formally disavowed outright and the war be escalated substantially beyond where it presently is.

Unsurprisingly, the opponents of the ceasefire are National Security Minister Itamar Ben Gvir and Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich, both known for their far-right positions and territorial ambitions.

Ben-Gvir suggested that Israel should totally end all electricity flow within Lebanon for the duration of the war, and that they should occupy the entire country up to the Zahrani River. Similarly, he suggested that every time Hezbollah uses an explosive drone against Israeli forces, the military should destroy 10 homes within the Lebanese capital of Beirut...........more........

Let’s examine the case.

In the oath of office taken in the swearing in of a president, the about-to-be-president swears allegiance to the U.S. Constitution and promises to defend it against enemies at home and abroad. In other words, enemies of the Constitution are enemies of the United States. (Today the Constitution’s enemies  includes  university law schools in the United States.)

If you asked what is the United States, some would say it is an idea; others would say it is a geographical territory. But these definitions apply to all countries and thus define none. The correct answer is that the United States is the Constitution.

The Constitution defines the form of government, the powers of the various branches, the distribution of powers between state governments and the federal government, the rights of citizens and the protection of those rights, and it defines the process of changing the Constitution, that is, of changing the United States. Without the Constitution the United States would be a different country.

It is not an election that makes a person the president. It is the person’s vow to defend the United States by defending the Constitution. If an elected president refused the vow at the swearing in ceremony, he could not be confirmed in office as president. When a president-to-be swears an oath to the Constitution he swears an oath to the United States.

The most important parts of the Constitution are the Amendments, the Bill of Rights that had to be incorporated into the Constitution in order to gain its acceptance by all of the founding states. The Bill of Rights protects the citizens from government limiting their rights and committing violence or retribution against them for actions protected by the Constitution.........more........

 Bärbel Bas is a particularly abrasive Social Democrat and one of the most disturbing personalities in German politics. Her every public appearance provokes in me a visceral, almost ancestral disgust. Bas is also Labour Minister in Merz’s horrible cabinet, which is probably a good thing because I can’t be the only person who finds her a reprehensible hag. Without Bas the government would surely have substantially higher approval ratings. 

Bas is additionally useful because she suffers from occasional but quite serious outbreaks of frankness and honesty. Yesterday, she had a particularly bad episode during a speech she gave at the German Cultural Council’s inaugural “Action Day for Cohesion in Diversity.” Among other things, Bas said she wanted to “speak plainly” and clarify that it is time to take a stand against the “grey uniformity” of the German people – or, she added, perhaps even their “brown uniformity,” the latter being of course a reference to our alleged innate fascism. Bas said that some people might long for the old days of this past homogeneity, “but that’s just not how things are anymore, and that’s a good thing.” She continued to explain that Germany may require migration to provide “skilled workers,” but that above all we need migration “for the diversity of our society” and for “cultural enrichment.”

You don’t even have to read between the lines here. Bas and also her approving leftist audience of cultural elites regard Germanness itself and German society as something requiring correction via population replacement. Among other things, they hope that new arrivals from the developing world may offset the wayward, right-trending political tendencies of the electorate, and they also hope that newcomers will improve what they see as our boring, nothing, monotonous culture..........more........
