A few weeks ago, I was having a politics conversation with a tech insider. The issue of datacenters became a focus of the conversation. The first response from him was “this is the issue that might decide 2026 and will certainly decide 2028.”

The tech side of the issue is essentially: As 5G wifi was to mobile connectivity, so too are the datacenters the cornerstone of nationwide AI rollout.  Eventually, all of the datacenters will interconnect and become part of a massive information system that houses all knowledge, a great digital brain.  From that point, engagement with Artificial Intelligence (AI) systems will become like a public utility.

The datacenters themselves can be a hot button issue as their proximity to people creates friction.  Battles against datacenters are taking place in rural and non-rural areas alike. With deep pockets and strong national security arguments involving the “AI race,” the technocrats are currently winning the argument. Trump and his national security sycophants continue to live in a dream world when it comes to negotiating with Iran. A few days ago hearts in DC were palpitating with hopes that a deal was at hand, but those beating hearts were stilled following Trump’s Friday afternoon meeting with his national security team. Both the NY Times and Axios are out on Saturday with reports that, if true, means there is no diplomatic, negotiated settlement in sight.

Both the NY Times and Axios agree that Trump is hardening his position and that Iran’s responses have been unsatisfactory to the US. They highlight the central issues: reopening the Strait of Hormuz, limiting Iran’s nuclear capabilities, and the threat of renewed strikes. Both note that talks remain active but fragile. However, they are not entirely en sync.

Axios presents the story in its signature concise, insider-focused style, heavily relying on Trump’s own words and senior U.S. officials. In mid-May, Axios reported Trump telling the outlet directly that “the clock is ticking” for Iran. He warned that if Tehran does not return with a significantly better offer, “they are going to get hit much harder” and “they better get moving fast or they are not gonna have anything left.”

Axios’ coverage stresses Trump’s frustration with Iran’s latest counter-proposal, which US officials described as “insufficient,” particularly on the nuclear program. Axios highlights the binary choice Trump is presenting: make real concessions or face resumed military action (“negotiations through bombs”). Axios portrays Trump as impatient but still preferring a deal on his terms, while noting that domestic pressures like inflation and high energy prices add urgency to getting a deal done.............more..........

American progressive commentator Cenk Uygur and his nephew Hasan Piker have both been denied visas by the British government, saying they were blocked from entering the country because of their criticism of Israel. 

“I’ve been banned from the UK,” Uygur said in a tweet. “I tried to get on a flight to London to attend SXSW London and give a speech at Oxford. I’ve been banned for criticizing Israel. Are we free anymore? This is oppression of Western citizens by our own governments on behalf of a different country!”

I understand Artists are getting “the yips” having to do with their performance on Wednesday, so I am thinking about bringing the Number One Attraction anywhere in the World, the man who gets much larger audiences than Elvis in his prime, and he does so without a guitar, the man who loves our Country more than anyone else, and the man who some say is the Greatest President in History (THE GOAT!), DONALD J. TRUMP, to take the place of these highly paid, Third Rate “Artists,” and give a major speech, rallying the Country forward like I have done ever since being President!

 Benjamin Netanyahu is seething as Donald Trump edges closer to striking a peace deal with Iran, leaving the Israeli prime minister wishing Barack Obama were back in the White House, according to a new report.

Netanyahu privately views the looming US-Iran pact as an unmitigated catastrophe and lays the blame squarely at Trump’s feet, a senior political source revealed to Al-Monitor.

‘This time, the prime minister’s hands are tied. He is completely paralyzed and knows that he will not be able to do anything, even if the agreement signed between the United States and Iran remains the disaster he now defines it as,’ one of Netanyahu’s close associates told the outlet.

So deep is Netanyahu’s despair that he now yearns for the days of Joe Biden and even Obama, who he famously clashed with, the insider said. The Israeli leader, however, is now forced to fall in line behind Trump.

The still-to-be-finalized agreement has ignited speculation in Israel that Netanyahu may be forced to step aside to dodge an electoral wipeout and avoid a possible prison sentence that could result from a long-running corruption case.
