Trump promulgated a “national emergency” last week for granting himself the power to impose tariffs on any country that supplies Cuba with oil. This primarily affects Mexico, which replaced Venezuela as Cuba’s top oil supplier after the US’ capture of President Nicolas Maduro resulted in it obtaining proxy control over the Bolivarian Republic’s energy industry through his successor. Just prior to Trump’s decree, Mexico temporarily paused its oil shipments to Cuba, which now has only 15-20 days of oil left.

It was assessed here in January that “Cutting [Cuba’s oil imports] off could accelerate the economy’s collapse and thus subordinate it to the US, with or without regime change, like Washington has sought to achieve for decades already.” Trump predicted in the run-up to promulgating his latest “national emergency” that “Cuba is really a nation that is very close to falling” while Secretary of State Marco Rubio told the Senate Foreign Affairs Committee that “we would like to see the regime there change.”

Nevertheless, the Venezuelan precedent proves that the US can accept “regime tweaking” in lieu of regime change, which refers to keeping the targeted state’s power structure in place after some (at times significant) changes that advance the meddling state’s interests. Trump’s “national emergency” decree makes it clear that he wants Cuba to cut off ties with Russia, China, Iran, Hamas, and Hezbollah. He also wants Cuba to implement “meaningful reforms” that strongly imply initiating a phased regime change...........more..........

Someone sent me a copy of a book, Empire of Lies, by Charles Goyette published by the Libertarian Institute in 2025. Perhaps the book was sent to me because Goyette borrowed the title from my book, Empire of Lies, published in 2023.

The single virtue of Goyette’s Book is the compilation of some of the lies that Washington told Americans and the world so far in the 21st century.  The lies about Iraq and Saddam Hussein’s alleged weapons of mass destruction. The lies about Bashar Assad and Syria’s alleged use of chemical weapons. The lies about Libya and Gaddafi. The lies about Somalia and Sudan. The lies about Lebanon. Many more lies are on the way.

 But Goyette does not mention the lies about 9/11. That is a bridge too far.

Neither does Goyette tell us why we were told all of these lies that he collects. It is almost as if it was Washington’s way of having fun with us.

In my opinion, Goyette and the Libertarian Institute looked at the cost of telling all of the truth and decided it was too high. To enter into combat with the Israel lobby has always been a losing proposition, as Tucker Carlson and Candice Owens are yet to find out.............more.........

 as i was reading the beginning of this i wondered if iran was gonna come and invade us to stop our mistreatment of demonstrators in the same fashion with which we are threatening to invade them to stop their mistreatment of demonstrators of which the orange man had been speaking;

 

The violent clashes that are causing so much chaos in the streets of our major cities aren’t going to stop.  Tens of thousands of anti-ICE activists have already been recruited, and more are joining their ranks with each passing day.  At this stage, the only thing that could put a lid on the volcano of fury that we are witnessing would be if President Trump decided to pull ICE out of all of our cities and stop deportations.  Of course there is no way that is going to happen.  In fact, as you will see below, Trump is now converting 23 enormous warehouses around the country into giant ICE detention centers.  The goal is to deport a million immigrants per year, and that means that the war between ICE and anti-ICE protesters is just getting started.

I have always warned that civil unrest would be one of the key elements of “the perfect storm” that our society would be forced to endure, and now we have reached a stage where the civil unrest never seems to stop.

On Friday, law enforcement authorities used pepper balls and tear gas to disperse “a mob of violent agitators” that had gathered in front of the federal detention center in Los Angeles…
