The images are finally breaking through the propaganda fog. Starving children – ribs sharp beneath thinning skin – have made the front pages, from The Daily Express to The New York Times.

Aid agencies are now echoing what Palestinians have been shouting for months: this is not a humanitarian crisis. It is a man-made famine. It is genocide, and it is being broadcast in real time.

According to Doctors Without Borders, cases of severe malnutrition among children under five in Gaza have tripled in just two weeks. A quarter of the children and pregnant women examined were malnourished.

Since May, famine deaths have surged – over 50 in the past week alone. The World Food Programme confirms Gaza receives just 12 percent of the food it needs. A third of the population is going days without eating. Babies are starving, mothers faint and aid convoys are shot at or turned away.

Now, the UN-backed Integrated Food Security Phase Classification (IPC) has issued an urgent alert: the “worst-case scenario of famine is currently playing out in the Gaza Strip”.

Famine thresholds for food consumption and acute malnutrition have already been breached. Starvation and disease are accelerating. Without immediate intervention, the outcome is clear: mass death.

And the government's coverup of the dangers was part of the Manhattan Project—as was the public-relations campaign around the benefits of fluoride. The original sites that proximity to which could put cancer-causing forever chemicals into your body were Manhattan Project sites, and the Atomic Energy Commission covered up the dangers at the time, as did corporate profiteers, which have run denial and misinformation campaigns ever since. Before the first no-stick frying pan landed on the first shelf of the first U.S. store, Dupont was strategizing to minimize its financial risk for the harm and suffering expected to result. Update: The Kamchatka 8.8 megaquake has increased pressure on the two trenches off the coast of Japan as well as the Aleutian islands fault (the Aleutian Trench) which was responsible for one of the biggest earthquakes in modern history, the Alaska quake of 1964. 

The Alpine Trench on the South Island of New Zealand is due to erupt soon enough.

The Axial Seamount off the Oregon coast is expected by scientists to erupt some time this year. It is one of the most scientifically monitored undersea volcanoes in the world. It is on the western edge of the Juan De Fuca Plate which is being subducted under the North American Plate at the Cascadia subduction zone. Subduction zone earthquakes are among the strongest of the megaquakes. The Cascadia subduction zone stretches 1,000 km (620 miles) from northern Vancouver Island in Canada down the coast to Cape Mendocino, California.  A regional FEMA director said, “Our operating assumption is that everything west of the I-5 highway will be toast.” A megaquake in this area could produce tsunami as large as, if not larger, than the Boxing Day tsunami of 2004.

Some of the notable Cascade volcanoes include Mt Rainier, Mount Baker, Mount St. Helens, and Mount Hood. There has been earthquake swarms around Mt Rainier.  When it erupted in the past, it sent lahars that wiped out the areas where the state capitol is today and as far as present day Tacoma and the southside of Seattle.
