There is no clean water. Little food. A severe shortage of medical services and hardly any habitable shelters. Some 1.9 million people have been displaced, amounting to 90 percent of the population. They live in makeshift tents, encamped amid slabs of concrete or the open air. Many have been forced to move over a dozen times.

Nine in 10 homes have been destroyed or damaged. Apartment blocks, schools, hospitals, bakeries, mosques, universities — Israel blew up Israa University in Gaza City in a controlled demolition — cemeteries, shops and offices have been obliterated.

The unemployment rate is 80 percent and the gross domestic product has been reduced by almost 85 percent, according to an October 2024 report issued by the International Labour Organization............more........

Today, February 6, is when we are supposed to learn about President Trump’s “plan” for releasing CIA records relating to the assassination of President Kennedy, which the CIA has steadfastly and fiercely kept secret for more than 60 years — on grounds of protecting “national security” of course.

I remain doubtful that all of those decades-old records will be released, for the sample reason that I don’t believe that the CIA is going to permit Trump to disclose those records. I think it’s much more likely that the CIA will let Trump do what he did the last time he was president — release some records while keeping the rest secret. That would enable Trump to crow publicly about how he “released the JFK records” while the incriminating records continue to be kept secret.

After all, why didn’t Trump simply issue an order to the National Archives to immediately release all of the long-secret JFK-assassination-related records in its possession? Why didn’t he simply order the CIA to disclose all of its files on CIA officer George Joannides, who played a critically important role in the JFK saga? Why doesn’t he issue such orders today and just forget about coming up with a “plan” for releasing the records? What next? In any event, if and when those long-secret records are ever released, one thing I can say with 100 percent certainty: They will not include any records documenting the CIA’s dealings with the famous Zapruder film, the film in which Dallas businessman Abraham Zapruder captured the JFK assassination. The problem is that those folks who are looking nervously at what President Donald Trump is doing to reshape the Middle East to the benefit of Israel are not looking deeply enough into the US domestic policy changes that are also being promoted that will strip Americans of fundamental rights like freedom of speech or association in any situation in which Israel or Jewish groups are involved, even marginally. It is as if the United States is fully engaged in two major tasks simultaneously. The first consists of supporting Israel uncritically no matter what it does or how many civilians it seeks to kill without necessarily overtly endorsing all the policies embraced by the monstrous Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and his cutthroat colleagues. This is the way President Joe Biden ran things aided by his Zionist Secretary of State Antony Blinken. Biden feigned concern over the tens or possibly even hundreds of thousands of Palestinians being killed by Israel but he kept the flow of American bombs, money, and total political support in place even when he feebly warned and then failed to follow through on a threat that there would be consequences if Israel continued to blockade and starve the Gazans.

The second objective involves laboring to entrench and expand Jewish power in America is to create domestic political and media environment where criticism of Israel or of any Jewish groups will be criminalized, up to and including deporting individuals who are perceived as pro-Palestinian activists or, as Donald Trump has put it, “Jew haters.” The Attorney General and the hopefully soon to be abolished Department of Education are now coming down hard on universities who are perceived as not acting forcibly enough to protect Jewish students. Trump’s Solution for Gaza:  Make It an American Resort

Let’s see,

The US supplied the ordinance with which Israel turned Gaza into a demolition site.

To clear out the ruins requires the Palestinians to go somewhere else.

With Gazas relocated, Gaza will be turned into a resort owned by the US.

Washington’s presence will bring peace to the Middle East.

There will be no more Palestinians in Palestine.

Make what you will of this. Having accepted and enabled Israel’s gradual seizure bit by bit of Palestine over decades until nothing was left but a few isolated bits in the West Bank and Gaza, Israel was then enabled to destroy Gaza.  The surviving Palestinians have no homes, no infrastructure, water, power, medicine, food, so the only alternative for the surviving Palestinians is to move them elsewhere in refugee camps, which is what has been happening to Palestinians since 1947. Trump says that unlike Israel’s previous displacement of Palestinians from their homes, villages, and towns, Israel and America’s Gaza victims will have built for them by someone (undefined) a beautiful city in which to live. 

The alternative to this vision is that Israel could be forced to return Palestinian territory previously illegally occupied by Israel to Palestine, and the Gazans’ could relocate there until Israel and Washington at their expense rebuild Gaza, which could become a resort area run by Palestinians.
