The Washington Post has published another article warning its readers that the Russians are “hacking our minds”, this one authored by CNN’s Fareed Zakaria.

“Russia hasn’t just hacked our computer systems. It’s hacked our minds.” blares the ridiculous, propagandistic headline for an article about “the Russian model” of propaganda which “rests on the principle that people get convinced when they hear the same message many times from a variety of sources, no matter how biased.”

Which is funny, since this is not the first time WaPo itself has repeated this cartoonish narrative about Russian mind-hackers.........read more......

 the tv just told us to be more afraid because the russians, or some other foreign entity wishing to take away your pocket phone and car just got caught hacking 'official' computers so run around and set your hair on fire, or consider the other possibilities presented in this essay;

Right now, we are in a cyber war. Have you heard the news about the discovery of massive sophisticated hacking infiltration into the US government and elsewhere?

“SolarWinds, an IT company that runs network management systems whose thousands of clients include the Justice Department, NASA, the Pentagon, and the State Department, acknowledged that its systems had been compromised.” reported everywhere…

In the days after the November presidential election, the Department of Homeland Security’s Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA) said it was the “most secure in American history” and that “there is no evidence that any voting system deleted or lost votes, changed votes, or was in any way compromised” as President Trump pushed claims that the election was rigged in favor of President-elect Joe Biden.

“Nation State” Cyber Attack

Now it is revealed there has been a massive “nation state” type ongoing cyber attack / Trojan horse insertion / malware / data theft and yet unknown details into virtually all of government!

A web cache of SolarWinds’s website from Monday shows a “customers” page that 300,000 customers were affected including “more than 425 of the US Fortune 500,” the 10 biggest telecommunications companies in the U.S., “all five branches” of the U.S. military, and a number of different government agencies — including the State Department, National Security Agency, Justice Department, and the Office of the President. That list is now gone.

Let that sink in! This is serious!

A friend in Georgia called to let me know a junior high school student who attends the same school as her 13-year-old son tried to kill herself the other day. She was found hanging from a cord she’d wound over the shower head in her parents’ home. She was despondent over being denied her life – and so decided to take it.

The good news is she was discovered in time and is still alive.

The bad news is there are many such “cases” – including the premature deaths-by-neglect of elderly people who haven’t got the ‘Rona but lost the will to live – and stopped eating or just faded away from depressive ennui resulting from being “locked down” in nursing homes for the past six-plus-months, by decree of the Gesundheitsfuhrers.Mammals need the warmth and companionship of other mammals. Take that away – “lock them down”- and you sentence them to a slow but certain death, beginning with their spirit and ending with the mortification of their bodies.

This is not a minor inconvenience, a temporary and necessary sacrifice. It is an outrageous, criminal assault on the physical and psychological well-being of hundreds of millions of people (in this country alone) in the name of a fatuous hyper-precautionary Sickness Cult that regards a slight risk of a bad cold to most as finger-wagging justification – and you’d better not object to any of it.

It has worked – so far – because most people are kind and generous and no one wants to be accused of harming other people, let alone actually harming them. But it begins to wear thin, as the enjoining and finger-wagging waxes even as the evidence mounts that the damage being done is sickeningly disproportionate to the threat asserted.
