about half of this is realistic and past due in that it recognizes reality that you'll never hear from 'our free press' but then it denigrates into a wish for a third party as if more fools rushing about speaking about how the sky is falling will set the country on track dealing with the world in a half way realistic manner;

Recent polls by the Pew Charitable Trust show that:
  • 52% of Americans have an unfavorable view of the Democratic Party, with only 45% having a favorable view
  • Americans feel the exact same towards the Republican party (52% unfavorable and 45% favorable)
As we’ve repeatedly noted:
  • 51% of Americans know the primary process is rigged
  • More than half of Americans want a third party
  • 42% of Americans now think of themselves as independents … only 29% identify as Democrats, and 26% as Republicans
  • Even the Founding Fathers warned us about the threat from a two-party system
Truly, it’s time for a third party.
Indeed, a new Gallup poll shows that the Federal government has a MINUS 27 net favorability rating.
Other polls over the last 5 years show:
here you can read about how cops attacked an autistic girl, they said, to save her, but it seems she needed no 'protection' so now we will have another law suit in which the cops plead total innocence;

Riverside County, CA — Michelle Chartrand is a 19-year-old woman with autism who has never harmed a fly, much less committed a crime. However, because police officers opt for training in escalation of violence instead of how to interact with special needs individuals, she fell victim to police brutality and was treated like a murder suspect. As she walked home from school last year, Chartrand was attacked by police, tackled to the ground, and injured—by police who claim they were trying to save her. On Friday, Chartrand filed suit in U.S. District Court alleging that the beating and treatment she received at the hands of the Riverside County sheriff’s deputies amounted to violations of her constitutional rights and the Americans with Disabilities Act.
As the Desert Sun reports:
On Aug. 30, 2018, Chartrand was dropped off by her mother at Summit High School in La Quinta to attend a job training for people with learning disabilities. Soon after arriving, two Desert Sands Unified School District security officers received reports that Chartrand had left campus and was walking home, according to the complaint...........https://thefreethoughtproject.com/cops-claim-they-had-to-smash-innocent-autistic-teens-head-into-concrete-to-protect-her/
the empire has been lying about iran and attacking iran for more than a hundred years, but you'll never hear that truth spoken by any of 'our' government or 'our free press';

Mike Pompeo can’t get through a single interview without telling a bald-faced lie. Here he lies about Iran again:
They’re investing in missile systems that they’re not allowed to have. They continue – indeed, they announced just yesterday that they’re going to continue to do more research and development on their nuclear weapon systems [bold mine-DL]. Those things are unacceptable.
The Iranian government announced no such thing, and Iran has no “nuclear weapon systems.” Iran has no nuclear weapons program, and hasn’t had anything like that for more than fifteen years. Pompeo is promoting an extremely dangerous lie here, and as usual he is never challenged on what he says. The Trump administration is desperate to deceive the public into thinking that Iran seeks nuclear weapons when that is not happening. They dishonestly put modest Iranian responses to U.S. violations of the JCPOA in the worst light in the hopes that people don’t realize that their reckless and destructive Iran policy has failed and has brought us dangerously close to an unnecessary war.
The so-called “third step” that the Iranian government announced this week was that they were no longer going to respect the JCPOA’s limits on research and development. They taking this step in response to the continued economic war being waged against them by the Trump administration after it violated the deal and reimposed sanctions. The purpose of these limited, reversible steps is to pressure the other parties to the agreement to deliver on their end of the bargain. To date, our European allies have failed to deliver, and so Iran keeps taking these steps.
The Times article on the announcement makes another important point:
Rescinding the limits on research and development violates one of the accord’s core principles, but does not necessarily put the Iranians any closer to the ability to make a bomb.
Iran continues to reduce compliance with an agreement that the U.S. reneged on more than a year ago, and it is going to continue doing that as long as the U.S. keeps illegitimate sanctions in place. That doesn’t mean that Iran is going to start pursuing nuclear weapons, and it is important to understand that none of this would be happening had the U.S. not broken its word and violated the agreement first. If the U.S. eased or lifted the sanctions, it is likely that Iran would respond in kind by reversing some of its recent actions. Of course, the Trump administration wants to drive Iran out of the JCPOA because they want the deal to collapse, and they want it to collapse because they see it as an obstacle to creating a pretext for conflict.
The administration’s Iran policy is a complete failure that has needlessly increased tensions between the U.S. and Iran to the detriment of both countries, and the only way that Pompeo can sell this policy to the public is by constantly, shamelessly lying about Iran and the nuclear deal.......https://www.theamericanconservative.com/larison/pompeos-constant-shameless-lying-about-iran/
in the eighties npr and pbs were independent voices of reality, mostly. now they are full on arms of the empire's propaganda directed at those who see themselves as left of center. i call npr nancy pelosi radio these days, and this short bit will expose some of why i see it that way;

Back in the 1960s, the CIA official Cord Meyer said the agency needed to “court the compatible left.”  He knew that drawing liberals and leftists into the CIA’s orbit was the key to efficient propaganda.  Right-wing and left-wing collaborators were needed to create a powerful propaganda apparatus that would be capable of hypnotizing audiences into believing the myth of American exceptionalism and its divine right to rule the world.  The CIA therefore secretly worked to influence American and world opinion through the literary and intellectual elites.
Frances Stonor Saunders comprehensively covers this in her 1999 book, The Cultural Cold War: The CIA And The World Of Arts And Letters, and Joel Whitney followed this up in 2016 with Finks: How the CIA Tricked the World’s Best Writers, with particular emphasis on the complicity between the CIA and the famous literary journal, The Paris Review.  By the mid-1970s, as a result of the Church Committee hearings, it seemed as if the CIA, NSA, FBI, etc. had been caught in flagrante delicto and disgraced, confessed their sins, and resolved to go and sin no more.  Then in 1977, Carl Bernstein wrote a long piece for Esquire – “The CIA and the Media” – naming names of journalists and media (The New York Times, CBS, etc.) that worked hand-in-glove with the CIA, propagandizing the American people and the rest of the world.  It seemed as if all would be hunky-dory now with the bad boys purged from the American “free” press.  Seemed to the most naïve, that is, by which I mean the vast numbers of people who wanted to re-stick their heads in the sand and believe, as Ronald Reagan’s team of truthtellers would announce, that it was “Morning in America” again with the free press reigning and the neo-conservatives, many of whom had been “converted” from their leftist views, running things in Washington.............https://www.lewrockwell.com/2019/09/edward-curtin/will-npr-now-officially-change-its-name-to-national-propaganda-radio/
mr whitehead speaks here about the bill of rights, or i should say, what's left of it, and why that matters. he also shows you how really unaware and uneducated your neighbors are about government and our legal rights;

“That was when they suspended the Constitution. They said it would be temporary. There wasn’t even any rioting in the streets. People stayed home at night, watching television, looking for some direction. There wasn’t even an enemy you could put your finger on.”—Margaret Atwood, The Handmaid’s Tale
It’s been 230 years since James Madison drafted the Bill of Rights—the first ten amendments to the Constitution—as a means of protecting the people against government tyranny, and what do we have to show for it?
Nothing good.
In America today, the government does whatever it wants, freedom be damned.
We can pretend that the Constitution, which was written to hold the government accountable, is still our governing document, but the reality of life in the American police state tells a different story.
“We the people” have been terrorized, traumatized, and tricked into a semi-permanent state of compliance by a government that cares nothing for our lives or our liberties.
The bogeyman’s names and faces have changed over time (terrorism, the war on drugs, illegal immigration, etc.), but the end result remains the same: in the so-called named of national security, the Constitution has been steadily chipped away at, undermined, eroded, whittled down, and generally discarded to such an extent that what we are left with today is but a shadow of the robust document adopted more than two centuries ago...........https://www.lewrockwell.com/2019/09/john-w-whitehead/the-bill-of-rights-turns-230-and-what-do-we-have-to-show-for-it-nothing-good/
this is a longer than usual fred exploration, in this case of the empire's 'invulnerable' military that i highly recommend you explore to get some realism to hold next to the spam extruded by 'military experts' you hear on your tv;

For a couple of decades I covered the military for various publications, as for example the Washington Times and Harper’s, and wrote a military column for Universal Press Syndicate. I was following the time-honored principle of sensible reporters: “Ask not what you can do for journalism, but what journalism can do for you.” The military beat was a great gig, letting you fly in fighter planes and sink in submarines. But if you take the study seriously, as I did, you learn interesting things. Such as that a war with a real country, such as Russia, China, or even Iran, would be a fool’s adventure. A few points:
Unused militaries deteriorate
The US fleet has not been in a war since 1945, the air forces since 1975. nor the Army in a hard fight since Vietnam. Bombing defenseless peasants, the chief function of the American military, is not war.
In extended periods of peace, which includes the bombing of peasants, a military tends to assume that no major war will come during the careers of those now in uniform. Commanders consequently do what makes their lives easy, what they must do to get through the day and have reasonable fitness reports. This does not include pointing out inadequacies of training or equipment. Nor does it include recommending large expenditures to remedy deficiencies. Nor does it include recommending very expensive mobilization exercises that would divert money from new weapons.
Thus an armored command has enough replacement tracks for training, but not enough for tanks in hard use in extended combat. When the crunch comes, it turns out that getting more track requires a new contract with the manufacturer, who has shut down the production line. The same is true for air filters, there not being much sand at Fort Campbell but a lot in Iraq. Things as mundane as MRATs and boots are not there.in real-war quantities.........http://www.unz.com/freed/unused-militaries/
two from pcr in a row and in this one he speaks of the 911 anniversary and some of it significance;

Today is the 18 anniversary of 9/11, an event that has turned a once free America into a domestic police state and an international warmonger during the 21st century.  America’s reputation has been shattered along with the Constitution, international law, and seven nations in whole or part.  The massive crimes against the Bill of Rights and the population of seven nations are the direct consequence of 9/11.
Global Research has assembled some articles that indicate that not only Americans but the people of the world have been massively deceived about that event.
Over the years I have reported the findings of scientists, engineers, and architects that indicate that the official story is false.  I had an open mind for two reasons.  One is that having been an engineering student, I could tell the difference from a building falling down from asymmetrical structural damage and a building blowing up.  The other is that having been involved in policy issues in Washington for a quarter century I knew that such a humiliating defeat suffered by the world’s only superpower at the hands of a few Muslim terrorists would have brought instant demands from the White House, Congress, and media for investigation into how every aspect of the American national security state failed simultaneously on one morning.  Instead the White House resisted the 9/11 families demands for an investigation for one year and never delivered a forensic intestigation.  Instead, the country was given a 9/11 Commission Report that was merely the government’s official story of what happened.  No heads rolled.  No one was fired or even reprimanded.  To hold no one accountable for such a massive failure and humiliating defeat is not a believable response if the official 9/11 story is true.
It is much easier for government to deceive people in a democracy where people assume everything is above board than in a dictatorship where they know it is not.  ........https://www.lewrockwell.com/2019/09/paul-craig-roberts/when-americans-fell-for-the-9-11-deception-they-lost-their-country/
