one more take on the stone arrest showing some of why the empire now bears no relation to the constitution, and its just a matter of time until this applies to all of us, if it hasn't already been the case;

Last Friday, on a quiet residential street at 6 in the morning, the neighborhood exploded in light, noise and terror. Seventeen SUVs and two armored vehicles arrived in front of one house. Each vehicle had sirens blaring and lights flashing. The house, which abutted a canal, was soon surrounded by 29 government agents, each wearing military garb, each carrying a handgun and most carrying high-powered automatic rifles.
In the canal were two amphibious watercrafts, out of which more heavily armed government agents came. Circling above all this was a helicopter equipped with long-range precision weaponry and high-powered spotlights.
Four agents approached the front door to the house. Two held a battering ram, and two pointed their rifles at the door. One of the agents shouted and banged on the front door until the terrified owner of the house emerged, barefoot and wearing shorts and a T-shirt. He was greeted in the dark at his open front door by two rifle barrels aimed at his head.
This was not a movie set; it was not a foreign city in a war zone; it was not the arrest of the Venezuelan opposition leader in Caracas. It was middle America, Fort Lauderdale, Florida. The agents worked for the FBI, and the target of this operation was not a drug kingpin or a terrorist operative or a kidnapper of babies. It was a peaceful American in his own home — a political operative and longtime friend of President Donald Trump’s, named Roger Stone.
Why were there more FBI agents sent to arrest Stone than Navy SEALs sent to kill Osama bin Laden? Why jackboots in the morning in America? Here is the back story...........https://www.lewrockwell.com/2019/01/andrew-p-napolitano/an-american-nightmare/

my favorite former reagan cabinet official gets it right every time and here shows a portion of how corrupt and stupid 'our' government has become but tune in now because with their 'real news' machine it won't be long until all we have is the empire's version of pravda;

I remember when a suspect was regarded as innocent until proven guilty in a fair trial. Today prosecutors convict their victims in the media in order to make an unbiased jury impossible and thereby coerce a plea bargain that saves the prosecutor from having to prove his case. In the United States law is no longer a shield of the people. Law is a weapon in the hands of prosecutors. (See Roberts & Stratton, The Tyranny of Good Intentions.)
Formerly, if a prosecutor staged an arrest for publicity purposes, as Mueller did by placing a CNN presstitute on the scene and sending a couple of dozen heavily armed men in a pre-dawn raid to arrest a well known political consultant for allegedly “lying to Congress” when the appropriate procedure is for Mueller to inform Stone’s lawyer to present his client for indictment, the judge would throw out the case on the grounds that the prosecutor’s unethical action had biased the juror pool and made a fair trial impossible. The judge might also have thrown out the case on the grounds of selective prosecution. James Clapper while serving as Director of National Intelligence lied to Congress under oath and suffered no consequences, and Hillary Clinton has clearly broken the law and lied about it.
Today judges permit unethical behavior by prosecutors that deprives defendants of a fair trial, because judges don’t want the bother of trials any more than prosecutors do. Consequently, according to official statistics 97% of federal criminal cases are settled by a defendent pleaing guilty to a charge negotiated by his attorney and a prosecutor. As the charge is a negotiated or made-up one, most people in prison are there for confessing to crimes that never occurred.
Prosecutors, now that they are no longer bound by constraints of legal integrity, often fabricate a case against a person in order to force the person to give false testimony against the prosecutor’s real target. This is what Mueller’s cases against Cohen, Manafort, and Roger Stone are. Trump is the target, not Cohen, Manafort, and Stone. In addition, prosecutors string out the investigation so long that they force the target to use up his net worth fighting off an indictment. Then when the indictment arrives, there is no money left for lawyers, which adds to the pressure to “cooperate.” If Trump were a fighting man, he would pardon Cohen, Manafort, and Stone, reimburse them out of the Justice (sic) Department’s budget for their legal expenses, and have Mueller arrested for sedition and plotting to overthrow the duly elected President of the United States. This would be hypocritical as Trump himself is plotting to overthrow the duly elected president of Venezuela.
Mueller is not an agent of law. He is the agent of the military/security complex and the Democratic..........https://www.paulcraigroberts.org/2019/01/30/a-lawless-government/
the whole piece is pasted here and asks a very good question;

Special Counsel’s Robert Mueller’s securing of an indictment against political operative Roger Stone adds to the list of people associated with President Trump who have been charged with making false statements to federal officials.
The question naturally arises: If false statements to federal officials are so important, then why hasn’t the Justice Department secured an indictment against James R. Clapper, Jr., former director of the Defense Intelligence Agency under President Barack Obama. Clapper lied to Congress about secret surveillance schemes that were being conducted on American citizens.
According to vox.com, the following is a list of the people who Mueller has prosecuted or is prosecuting for allegedly making false statements to U.S. officials:
Paul Manafort
Roger Stone
Rick Gates
Michael Flynn
Alex van der Zwaan
Michael Cohen
Obviously, Mueller considers it important that people tell the truth when they are talking to federal officials.
So, I repeat: Why hasn’t the Justice Department secured an indictment against James R. Clapper Jr.?
On March 12, 2013, in a hearing of the United States Senate Committee on Intelligence, Senator  Ron Wyden asked Clapper, “Does the NSA collect any type of data at all on millions or hundreds of millions of Americans?”
Clapper responded, “No, sir.”
Wyden asked “It does not?”
Clapper said, “Not wittingly. There are cases where they could inadvertently, perhaps, collect, but not wittingly.”
On June 5, 1963, the Guardian published secret surveillance documents leaked by Edward Snowden. According to Wikipedia, these included “a top secret order showing that the NSA had collected phone records from over 120 million Verizon subscribers.”
Obviously, neither Clapper nor anyone else within America’s deep state could have anticipated that such records would ever see the light of day. Clapper must have believed that his lie to Congress was going to be preserved forever. But then Snowden came along and revealed the truth.
According to Wikipedia, “The following day, Clapper acknowledged that the NSA collects telephony metadata on millions of Americans’ telephone calls.”
It was clear that Clapper had lied to Congress, under oath. Again, from Wikipedia:
Representative Justin Amash became the first congressman to openly accuse Director Clapper of criminal perjury, calling for his resignation. In a series of tweets he stated: “It now appears clear that the director of national intelligence, James Clapper, lied under oath to Congress and the American people,” and “Perjury is a serious crime … [and] Clapper should resign immediately,” U.S. Senator Rand Paul (R-KY) said “The director of national intelligence, in March, did directly lie to Congress, which is against the law.” Paul later suggested that Clapper might deserve prison time for his testimony.
Why do Justice Department officials consider it bad when people who are associated with President Trump lie to federal officials but no big deal when it is done by people associated with former President Obama?...........https://www.fff.org/2019/01/30/muellers-indictments-and-james-r-clapper-jr/

 i imagine you're pleased by this story of the thin blue line keeping you safe from drug traffickers;

For nearly six full weeks, 29-year-old Matt Crull said he sat inside a Florida jail for a crime he didn’t commit.
The charge was trafficking heroin, according to CBS12. It came with a steep potential punishment and bond, which frightened Crull, who said an officer mistook laundry detergent for heroin.
“(It’s) very surreal when you’re sitting in jail with a half a million dollars bond,” Crull told WPBF25, “and you can’t go anywhere knowing that you didn’t do wrong.
“In the past, when I have gone to jail, it’s been something where I knew I wasn’t going to be there forever,” Crull said, according to WPTV. “It’s a lot different than going to jail and the charge of trafficking of heroin carries a penalty of 25 years in prison.”
Crull was arrested by Martin County Sheriff’s deputy Steven O’Leary on Dec. 5, according to WPTV. Sheriff William Snyder says the officer has been fired after an investigation uncovered that at least 11 people he put in jail for drug charges were found innocent, the TV station reported.
“No matter what we do, no matter how hard we try, just based on the law of possibilities there’s always a possibility that one bad apple will slip through,” Snyder said, according to WPTV. The TV station reported that Crull may sue for damages.
Crull was sleeping inside his van in a parking lot before the arrest, according to CBS12. Officers got word of a “suspicious van” and went to check it out.
That’s when police say O’Leary found a bag of Tide laundry detergent and claimed a field test proved it was heroin, CBS12 reported.
“He showed me a picture of the field test kit that he supposedly conducted, on his phone,” Crull told CBS12. “He never actually showed me the real test kit.”
But Crull said he was confused how a drug was found in his car in the first place.
“I just looked at him baffled and confused,” he told WPTV, “because I had no idea as to where 92 grams of heroin came from inside my van.”
Snyder said they “couldn’t find anything credible with what O’Leary stated” and freed the 11 people, including Crull, who had been accused of possessing drugs, as reported by CBS12.
Now, Crull has a message for the officer whose arrest stole weeks of his life away.
“I’m not saying he ruined my life,” Crull told WPBF25, “but he definitely caused me a lot of emotional distress and a lot of stress on my family.”...........https://www.charlotteobserver.com/news/nation-world/national/article225235460.html
this is the sort of government official who is making sure we have 'real news' that's been thru the sanitizer to make sure we aren't contaminated by 'conspiracy theories';

During a government shutdown that furloughed hundreds of thousands of workers, the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) continued operating and quietly received a $400,000,000 budget increase to further its insidious agenda to enslave or eradicate a majority of the population. At an agency meeting last Tuesday, FEMA Director Brock Long told regional subordinates that citizens who question the agency’s mission are “nothing more than cattle” and must be treated as hostile combatants.
He cited a recent disturbance in fire-stricken Paradise, CA; local subversives, he said, protested FEMA’s presence by forming a human blockade to prevent agents from unlawfully trespassing on private property or entering the charred remains of scorched homes and businesses. A group of approximately twenty-five persons held protest signs reading “FEMA, WE DON’T WANT YOU HERE” and “FEMA, GO HOME.”
Long told colleagues that agents must not hesitate to use discreet, lethal force if citizens defy FEMA’s authority, and reminded them that powers granted by the Patriot Act absolve agents of criminal maleficence when acting in the line of duty.  He warned them, however, not to shoot anybody in the presence of media personalities.
Our FEMA source said the following: “Brock Long continues to perceive everyday people as a threat to his authority. And what happened in California has strengthened his paranoia. He wants the population subservient to FEMA. To him, you’re all livestock ready for the slaughterhouse. We’re talking about a man who has ordered agents to toss people off boats.  Even supervisors who disagree with his policies are powerless to stop him.”
This, our source added, is because Long, who was appointed by Trump in June 2017, still has the president’s ear. He admits, however, that Trump may be oblivious of Long’s hatred of Americans and propensity for violence. Long is a master manipulator; he told Trump he wanted to help him make America Great Again and spun yarns about abolishing Obama-era laws and rebuilding the agency’s tarnished image.
“Brock is and always has been a Deep State operative. Trump probably didn’t know and supported him because he took advice from his inner circle, and some of them, unbeknownst to Trump, are Deep State, too. As long as Brock holds a position of power, Americans are in grave danger,” our source said.
He believes Long would be ousted only under two circumstances: Either FEMA’s Fifth Column movement pose an unprecedented challenge to his authority or President Trump has an epiphany and recognizes Long for what he truly is—demonic.
“I’m doubtful that will happen. It ought to have happened by now. If anyone beneath him questions his motives, he yells and screams at them. Then he puts on his public face. It’s been this way now for the last two years, and if Trump is reelected in 2020, that means Brock Long’s reign of terror will last at least another six years,” our source said...........http://concerneduspatriots.com/fema-director-calls-citizens-cattle/
a thirty nine second video displays clearly for me, that 'our' government only wants you to have the 'news' it deems fit for you, so much for free speech;

 one of many indications of the decline of the empire we all can applaud;

With reports that the European Union is close to establishing its trade vehicle for facilitating trade with Iran, the Trump Administration has issued a statement warning them not to defy the US sanctions, in any way.
“The choice is whether to do business with Iran or the United States," Sen. Tom Cotton (Republican-Arkansas), told the AP.
“I hope our European allies choose wisely.”
The US reimposed sanctions on Iran after withdrawing from the P5+1 nuclear deal. EU nations did not withdraw from the deal, and companies are still allowed to trade with Iran. This, however, is difficult because US sanctions are scaring most banks away.
The EU solution is a clearing house for the trades, which allow companies to pay for Iranian goods, and Iran to pay EU companies for services, without any money crossing borders, cutting the banks out of it.
Long-term, the US worries that the alternative money payment system could become successful enough to compete with the international bank transfer system known as SWIFT. The fear is that it could eventually supplant SWIFT as the leading global institution for financial institutions to send and receive information about banking transactions.
Secondly, the US is concerned that other countries might try to route transactions through the European system just to circumvent US sanctions, the adviser said.
Thirdly, while the Europeans have signaled that the alternative money transfer system would be used only for humanitarian transactions, the US is suspicious that it could be used for non-humanitarian transactions to evade US sanctions, the adviser said.
