A bet on Donald Trump for president
may have seemed risky two years ago. But for billionaire casino magnate
Sheldon Adelson, the payout has been spectacular.
The 85-year-old and his wife Miriam
gave $82 million to Republicans and candidate Trump in 2016, and within
two years watched their man execute two major Adelson asks: moving the
U.S. embassy in Israel to Jerusalem, and withdrawing from the Iran
nuclear deal.
This was accomplished in
consultation with Adelson comprador John Bolton, who in December 2016
promised members of the American Friends of Beit El that Trump would not
only move the embassy—declaring Jerusalem the true capital of
Israel—but that he would not oppose any Jewish settlement expansion in
the West Bank territories. Adelson is also credited with opening the
door for Bolton’s appointment to national security adviser in March.
Meanwhile, Adelson has enjoyed a direct
line to Trump, speaking with him in person and on the phone at least
once a month. Most recently Adelson was able to convince the president
to cut off U.S. aid to Palestinian refugees living in crowded, dirty,
and unrelentingly hopeless refugee camps outside Israel. Around the same
time, Trump withdrew $25 million in assistance from impoverished East
Jerusalem hospitals that also serve Palestinian cancer patients allowed
in from the West Bank and Gaza for treatment.
Of course, Adelson’s pro-Zionist
agenda, which includes expanding the settlements as far as they can
go—most recently pouring his money into a huge new Israeli medical
university on one of those settlements—is in sync with Israeli Prime
Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and his Likud party. It’s been a great year

San Antonio, TX — Demontae Walker was facing a slew of charges earlier this year for shooting a San Antonio police officer. However, earlier this month, all those charges were dropped once the truth came out and the District Attorney found that Walker was justified in shooting officer Dezi Rios—who was the aggressor in the situation.
The tragic incident unfolded on May 29 as Walker brought his wife’s
cousin to work at a local gentlemen’s club. According to Walker’s
attorney, Charles Adams, it all began over a fit of road rage.
“(Walker’s) story was that a vehicle driving at a very high rate of speed, he estimated over 100 mph, cut him off while he was exiting the freeway to drop his wife’s cousin off for work,” Adams said. “He was forced to swerve back into the I-10 lane, not the exit lane, then come to an almost complete stop and then exit.
“He said that when he got to the light, that the person that cut him off — he used the word ‘mean mugging,’ but (was) staring at him in the rearview mirror and looking very angry.
“Demontae said he then signaled for his turn and pulled into the parking lot and the vehicle pulled into his parking lot, as well. On Tuesday, the newly nominated head of U.S. Central Command, Lieutenant General Kenneth McKenzie, appeared before the Senate Armed Services Committee and insisted that any future Pentagon budget below $733 billion would “increase risk and that risk would be manifested across the force.” That very day, Secretary of Defense James Mattis and the chairmen of the House and Senate Armed Services committees, Congressman Mac Thornberry (R-TX) and Senator James Inhofe (R-OK) trooped to the White House for a lunch meeting. The next thing anyone knew, the 2020 Pentagon budget was to be a modest $750 billion. "The President fully supports the National Defense Strategy and continuing to rebuild the military," an administration official told CNN. "With the help of Sen. Inhofe and Chairman Thornberry, President Trump agreed to $750 billion topline."
Well, honestly, what can you expect of a Pentagon incapable of auditing itself? How could it possibly solve a total stumper of a division and subtraction problem like: What’s 5% less than its 2019 budget? (And here’s a little footnote to that change in numbers: Senator Inhofe walked out of that lunch and within the week had purchased “tens of thousands of dollars of stock in one of the nation’s top defense contractors.” Raytheon, to be exact. When that buy made news, he blamed it all on his “financial adviser,” claimed to know nothing about it, and cancelled the order.)
And then, of course, there’s always the purely secondary question: What is the U.S. military -- its budget already bigger than of that those of god-knows-how-many-other countries combined -- going to spend all that money on? He suggests that, in the years to come, increasing billions of those dollars are going to be invested in creating a future battlespace in which “intelligent” machines fight our wars and, in the end, the only role left for humans may be the dying. Is Russia learning that Washington wants no deal with Russia except Russian vassalage and that relying on agreements with the West is delusional? There is some indication that Russia is learning, but it seems to be a slow process.

Across the Atlantic, Emmanuel Macron, pretentious popinjay of Gallic grandiosity, has gotten a deserved comeuppance. Brexit, Trump’s election, and nationalist uprisings in Southern and Eastern Europe apparently insufficient warning to the globalists who would rule us, the French rioters are sending yet another wake-up call. If that’s not enough, so too are many of the nations outside the Euro-American welfare state asylum.
The crazies’ kings, queens, and courtiers face a dwindling inheritance and mounting debt, but spend lavishly to keep up appearances. Falling markets and rioting taxpayers are unwelcome reminders that the money’s running out, leaving behind a stack of IOUs that won’t be paid. The aristocracy wants to offload the pain to the peasantry, but the riots demonstrate that the peasantry has other ideas. Our betters also want to blame their sea of woes on Eurasia’s leaders, but Russia, China, Russia, Turkey, and Iran are having none of that. They are, however, delighted to see the West crumbling and will do nothing to stop it.
