Russian President Vladimir Putin on Wednesday addressed the persisting issue of European governments and navies seizing what they deem Russian ‘shadow fleet’ vessels off Europe’s coast.
The past year alone has seen several examples, sometimes involving French or Swedish commandos descending onto a tanker’s deck from helicopters and arresting crew members. The seized vessels are then taken to nearby European ports.
The latest European Union sanctions package passed last month stipulates that EU members can sell the oil or any seized cargo obtained from these ‘shadow fleet’ vessels.
Putin has reiterated Kremlin outrage at this scheme, condemning it as “piracy and banditry”. This after Sweden has lately declared its intent to hand seized Russian grain over to Ukraine...........more..........

Donald Trump has refused to rule out declaring a national emergency to seize greater control over the midterm elections, where Democrats are expected to make massive gains.
The President has spent months pressing the Senate to pass the SAVE America Act, which would require Americans to provide proof of citizenship when registering to vote in federal elections and to show photo ID at the polls.
Conservative television host Wayne Allyn Root of Real America's Voice brought up the possibility of Trump declaring a national security emergency if the Senate fails to act.
'They can't challenge it,' Root said. 'It can only be overturned by a two-thirds vote by both houses of Congress. So if you do this in the next month, we will get photo ID, proof of citizenship (for voter registration) and a limit to mail-in ballots.'
Trump cut the host off and suggested he would consider it: 'Let me just say that stranger things have happened, OK? I'll leave it at that.'
The President has long been fixated on claims of voter fraud and has falsely insisted that he won the 2020 election.
More recently, he has sought to exert greater control over elections through a March executive order that would bar the US Postal Service from delivering mail ballots in states that refuse to hand over their voter lists to the federal government..........more.............

This would not happen in Western North Carolina. Governor Stein has two dogs in the Governor’s mansion and sometimes walks them. Since no governor ever comes to Western North Carolina, the coyotes would not to discriminate between a worthless carpet bagger and a chicken. At least we don’t have to be concerned about him being bitten and deciding upon a course of action.

The Guardian published an article on Wednesday reporting that multiple sailors aboard the aircraft carrier USS Abraham Lincoln have attempted to jump overboard as the ship’s deployment stretches into its ninth month and over 260 consecutive days at sea. According to the article:
Military families and Congress members are sounding the alarm about an intensifying mental health crisis onboard the USS Abraham Lincoln, as its 5,000 sailors and marines endure a record-breaking deployment at sea tied to the war with Iran.
Two leading specialist military papers, the Navy Times and Stars and Stripes, are reporting that there have been multiple attempts by sailors to jump overboard as poor conditions and mental stresses on the Lincoln reach the breaking point. The crew is in its ninth month at sea, and has spent 250 days consecutively without making land – a record for an aircraft carrier in modern times.
Pete Hegseth, the clown serving as Secretary of War, dismissed the complaints of the Navy families as “fake news.” The only liar here is Hegseth.
