In typical U.K political fashion, British Prime Minister Keir Starmer flew to Saudi Arabia to present the optics of participation, when he found out about the Iran ceasefire deal.
Immediately, Starmer, with an apparent mouse in his pocket, heads for the cameras to announce, “well, we’ve just reached this ceasefire.” ..........more........

With the two-week ceasefire in the Iran war on the brink of collapsing because Israel bombed targets across Lebanon, killing civilians, President Donald Trump contradicted Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s post about whether the deal included Lebanon.
In announcing the deal on X last night, Sharif said it did. Trump did not correct him on Truth Social hours later.
This morning, however, Trump told PBS reporter Liz Landers that the deal did not include Lebanon because of the Hezbollah terror outfit there. Vice President J.D. Vance said the same thing..........more...........

On the nights of March 29th and Tuesday 31st, public disorder broke out in Clapham. Hundreds of largely African-Caribbean heritage youths gathered along the high street (organised as a ‘link up’ beforehand on social media), proceeded to steal from shops and carry out acts of criminal damage – although the primary purpose seems to have been to dominate the public space through force of numbers and menacing behaviour.
The Retail Director of Marks & Spencer, whose Clapham outlet was one of the main targets of the crowd, has directly criticised London Mayor Sadiq Khan for being soft on crime. The police, yet again failing to realise that perception is everything, took a softly-softly approach and made few arrests, promising to feel the collars of the wrongdoers later.
Naturally, liberals have attempted to explain away the mayhem as it simply being a matter of there not being enough ping-pong tables for teenagers. But this was not just youth culture expressing itself. It was a public demonstration of power: brazen, co-ordinated and utterly predictable. These adolescents were sending a message: that the streets can be claimed, rules can be broken and authority can be ignored, all without consequence. And it did not occur in a vacuum. Why are the African-Caribbean youths who rioted last week so disengaged from any sense of British common life, despite being born and brought up in this country?.......more........

The US-Israeli war has ended in a “decisive victory for Iran,” with both the US and Israel conceding to a “strategic surrender” and retreating from the battlefield, Israel’s Maariv newspaper has admitted.
The review followed the announcement of a ceasefire early Wednesday after 41 days of intense fighting between Iran and US-Israeli forces.
The report highlighted that, despite the assassination of Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei, Iran’s political structure remained intact, its nuclear program preserved, and control over the Strait of Hormuz effectively in Tehran’s hands.
Maariv pointed out that although the ceasefire is temporary, the negotiations set to begin later this week are likely to see Iran and the Axis of Resistance emerging as the key victors of the war.
The report underscored the “massive defeat” of the US and Israeli forces, which would carry long-term consequences, particularly in Lebanon, and would bolster Iran’s regional position in the Persian Gulf for years to come.
The Israeli newspaper also emphasized that Iran has imposed a deal largely of its own design on the US, rejecting Washington’s proposal............more..........
