It’s not the World Court, non-western states, rights groups and Palestinians who have been using the term genocide ‘too lightly’. It’s the Guardian that has reached the same conclusion far, far too late

In typically mendacious fashion, the Guardian has allowed one of its columnists to write an opinion piece weighing whether it is appropriate yet to use the term “genocide” to describe what has been happening in Gaza for the past 13 months. You will doubtless be relieved to learn that the paper thinks it may finally be acceptable to deploy the g-word in relation to the ongoing erasure of the enclave and its population.

The Guardian is entertaining this debate 10 months after the judges of the International Court of Justice – the highest judicial body in the world and one not noted for its radicalism – conceded that South Africa’s lawyers had made a “plausible” case Israel’s actions in Gaza met the strict definition in international law of genocide. Conditions in the enclave have grown immeasurably worse since that ruling back in January.

As I recently noted, the Guardian – like the rest of the western media – has had an effective ban on the use of the term genocide, except in legal debates relating to the ICJ case. Whistleblowing staff told Novara Media they were under “suffocating control” from senior editors, and that this pressure existed “only if you’re publishing something critical of Israel”.

So why the paper’s sudden change of tune – assuming that this isn’t just a sop to address growing disenchantment among a section of its readers?..........more.........

Dr. Khaled Al Serr, a surgeon at the Nasser Medical Complex in Khan Younis, recently endured six months as a prisoner in the Israeli military court system. Prior to his seizure, he was in the midst of doing what he could to help during one of the worst humanitarian crises Gaza has ever seen.

“From the moment the war started, I did everything I could to help my people,” Al Serr recalled during an interview in early October. “I couldn’t think about my own safety when so many of my countrymen needed help.”

But in late March, Israeli forces stormed Nasser Medical Complex for the second time during this ongoing genocide. Soldiers forced medical staff, including Al Serr, to evacuate.

Buzzing overhead, drones issued commands to leave the building. Despite wearing his white doctor’s coat and a stethoscope around his neck, clearly identifying him as a medical professional, Al Serr was detained.

“They made us strip our clothes and tied our hands and blindfolded us,” he told The Electronic Intifada. “It was humiliating, but worse than that, they treated us like criminals. We were just doctors trying to save lives.”

Enduring brutal conditions

The soldiers then took Al Serr and the others to a nearby house, which had been turned into a military command center. There, he said, he and his colleagues endured five days of detention under brutal conditions.

“They didn’t give us any food for the first four days,” Al Serr said, “and on the fourth day (in the evening), they brought us a small piece of bread and some cheese, barely enough to stay alive.”.......more.....

Very few people are going to be able to grasp this thing that happened on Tuesday. It’s unfortunate, but the reality is that this is something that is not going to fit into many people’s brains. Most people are just happy Trump won, and don’t want to think too much about why the election fraud machine was turned off.

In short, the people with the ability to commit massive election fraud declined to push the button and commit that fraud because the people with that ability wanted the same candidate as the masses of voters.

I will do my best to explain the long story here.

To start, I must confirm: I am the number one “election denier,” denying the 2020 election while it was happening, when they were bringing in new votes at 3AM.

After 2020, I had argued that it would be impossible for Trump to win in 2024. The argument went: the election was stolen in 2020, then again in 2022, and no serious measures were taken to prevent further fraud in key states.

As part of Trump’s plan, he promises to “clean out all of the corrupt actors in our national security and intelligence apparatus. The departments and agencies that have been weaponized will be completely overhauled, so that faceless bureaucrats will never again be able to target and persecute conservatives, Christians, or the left’s political enemies.”

He also proposes to expose the “abuses of power that have been tearing our country apart”; to “establish a ‘Truth and Reconciliation Commission’ to declassify and publish all documents on Deep State spying, censorship, and corruption”; and to “monitor our intelligence agencies to ensure they are not spying on our citizens or running disinformation campaigns against the American people.”

Once his new administration begins, Trump said he would “push a constitutional amendment to impose term limits on members of Congress.”........more.......

Can There Be an American-Russian Reset?

The New York Post reports that Russians are floating the idea of a “reset” with the US made possible by Trump’s election as President.  Kirill Dmitriev, CEO of Russia’s sovereign wealth fund said that Trump’s “convincing victory shows that ordinary Americans are tired of the unprecedented lies, incompetence, and malice of the Biden administration.  This opens up new opportunities for resetting relations between Russia and the United States.”  https://nypost.com/2024/11/06/world-news/russia-floats-idea-of-reset-with-united-states-after-trump-declares-victory/ 

Trump and Putin are in favor of this, and so is the Russian media which is asking these kind of questions:

“What does the Trump administration mean for the conflicts in Gaza and Ukraine? Do you think he will be able to broker a peace, or at least a ceasefire, in at least one of those conflicts?

“Do you expect the US to scale back its defense commitments in Europe under Trump? If so, will this create an opportunity for European countries to move ahead with some sort of of vision of collective security that does not rely on the US? Perhaps something in line with Macron’s proposals?

“Do you expect any changes in the US-NATO relations? Will  the alliance’s new secretary general, Mark Rutte, be able to effectively deal with the Trump White House?”

You want to cut $2 trillion from government spending. In 1933, 8 University of Chicago professors proposed the Chicago Plan to incoming President Roosevelt. At least 3 million Americans starved to death because FDR did not listen. They proposed Irving Fisher’s 100% money.  It begins with bringing back President Lincoln’s Greenbacks which were a non-interest-bearing currency. If we still had Greenbacks today, there would be no national debt of nearly $36 trillion and no annual interest due of $1 trillion. 

You are a businessman. You know American infrastructure is approaching Third World status, especially rails. A society of professional engineers puts the bill at $4 trillion to rebuild it all, including bridges. Colonel Douglas Macgregor proposed that we build fast rail across the US as an alternative to China’s Belt and Road Initiative. Fast rail would link our Pacific ports and Asia with our Atlantic ports and Europe. America could be the center of world commerce.

 The Chicago Plan would pay for all those infrastructure projects without taxation and user fees. How? The professors also wanted to end fractional reserve banking which allows banks to charge us interest on money they created out of thin air. That is what they do when they loan money into creation through checking account loan deposits. The professors wanted to have the US Treasury create all currency and checking account deposits which is why Dr Fisher called it 100% money...........more.......
