the 'official' 10/7 tale is a lie, and here's some evidence they showed israel but not the empire;

Three days ago, Israel’s leading newspaper, Haaretz, published the results of its thorough, comprehensive investigation into what actually happened when Hamas attacked on October 7. So far, the U.S. mainstream media has not said a word about the shocking results of that investigation. Critics sometimes use the expression “media malpractice” to describe the American mainstream’s failure to report accurately about Israel/Palestine. This time, though, what’s happening is even worse; it has to be deliberate self-censorship, designed to hide the truth from the U.S. audience.

Haaretz’s long report found that Israel’s army had employed the “Hannibal Directive” on October 7. The Directive is an Israeli policy that instructs the military to open fire on its own soldiers to prevent them from being taken captive. Of course, this site, alongside other alternative media sources, was one of the first to point out the possible role of the Hannibal Directive in Israeli deaths on October 7. But the Haaretz report was significant in the number of military sources it interviewed who confirmed that there were direct orders to implement the Directive.

Haaretz explained that the policy has “the intent of foiling kidnapping even at the expense of the lives of the kidnapped.” At first, the army started deploying “Ziks,” unmanned assault drones. Later, the army fired mortars, and then artillery shells. Haaretz also confirmed that the military did know that Israeli civilians had also been taken hostage, but, nonetheless, at 11:22 a.m. the order came down: “Not a single vehicle can return to Gaza.”........more........

My latest episode deals with the Western intelligence war on Russia. As I mentioned in my post on Tuesday regarding the alleged Russian bombing of a children’s hospital in Kiev, the organized media response attacking and condemning Russia was, in my judgment, a fully supported CIA/MI-6 information operation aka propaganda.

The CIA envisioned by Harry Truman, i.e., an agency that would recruit human spies, produce critical intelligence that would be scrutinized by analysts, who in turn would produce the best information for the President not available from the legacy news media, is dead. The CIA has been hijacked by the operations side of the house and is devoted, in my opinion, to creating and executing covert operations that usually result in over turning a foreign government. Once covert operations takes control, the ability of analysts to do honest analysis is kaput.

I saw this firsthand during my time working in the Central American Branch (CAB). Our attempts to do objective analysis met concerted push back from the operations side of the house — the Central American Task Force to be precise. A piece published in the Presidential Daily Brief describing the failings of the Contras, for example, was met with howls of outrage from the ops folks. We were accused of “undermining” the freedom fighters.

That is exactly what is going on today, in my view. Biden’s delusional speech at the opening of the NATO summit yesterday means one of two things — either he and his speech writers are ignoring/rejecting CIA analysis or the CIA analysts are not doing an honest job. (Children's Health Defense) Ultra-processed food producers are key actors in a complex global network of influence groups where they exert disproportionate power on global food policy and nutrition policy, according to a new paper in Agriculture and Human Values.

Calls for transforming global food governance from a corporate-dominated model to a “multi-stakeholder” model — led by organizations like the World Economic Forum (WEF) — has led to the proliferation of multi-stakeholder institution initiatives, partnerships, platforms and roundtables largely responsible for instituting new global “solutions” to agricultural problems.

These multi-stakeholder initiatives are based on a vision promoted by Klaus Schwab — that private corporations are key “stakeholders” that should play a leading role in sustainable development and be positioned as “trustees of society,” the authors wrote.

As a result, most prominent and powerful multi-stakeholder institutions are largely led by board members from ultra-processed food producers, retailers and business associations, the study found.

“Our results suggest that we now have a corporate-aligned, multi-stakeholder-led, global food governance system disproportionately organized by specific actors with common interests in advancing the ultra-processed food industry,” lead author Scott Slater from Australia’s Deakin University told The Defender.

“And, the key actors include executives from Unilever, Nestlé, PepsiCo, The Coca-Cola Company, WEF, Mars, DSM, Rabobank, the World Business Council for Sustainable Development (WBCSD), and Danone,” he added.

That means these companies and organizations have become the key drivers of global policies to address issues like malnutrition, food insecurity, biodiversity loss and climate change.

They play this role even though ultra-processed foods are tied to serious health issues including obesity, Type 2 diabetes, cardiovascular disease and mental health disorders, and environmental harms including biodiversity loss and the massive proliferation of plastics across the globe.

The results, Slater said, “raise important public health and governance concerns.”

He said that “multi-stakeholder institutions potentially hide the ultra-processed food industry’s harmful human and planetary health effects, in addition to providing industry executives a privileged ‘seat at the table’ in global food-governance decision-making spaces.”

To address the issue, Slater said, structural and regulatory changes are needed to ensure the interests of these powerful actors aren’t placed ahead of food system health and sustainability. This includes the “urgently needed global coordinated responses to address the harms of ultra-processed foods.”

Lots going on today. For those who thought that bygones would be bygones, well, you don’t have to worry about a Trump-Haley ticket. Heck, you don’t even have to worry about seeing Nikki Haley at the RNC convention, because she was not invited.  These ‘PUMA desserts’ are just tasty [PUMA = party unity my ass].

Apparently, President Trump did not forget the entirety of the process from 2018 to 2024 that laid behind the curtain of Nikki Haley. {SEE HERE} Good news!

Personally, I hope this is a sign of much more intra-party confrontation still to come.  Perhaps Haley can go play pickleball with Glenn Youngkin in her free time.

“The nominating convention is a time for Republican unity,” Haley will say in a statement. “JOE BIDEN is not competent to serve a second term and KAMALA HARRIS would be a disaster for America. We need a president who will hold our enemies to account, secure our border, cut our debt, and get our economy back on track. I encourage my delegates to support Donald Trump next week in Milwaukee.”

Asked if Haley is attending the convention, Haley spox CHANEY DENTON said that Haley “was not invited, and she’s fine with that. Trump deserves the convention he wants. She’s made it clear she’s voting for him and wishes him the best.”  ...........more........

There’s a lot of political newbies around, so some background is needed first.  Most people don’t know but, George Clooney was being groomed by the same people who groomed Barack Obama, for the purposes of replacing him at a later date.  Yes, Clooney was being groomed to be a POTUS.

The problem they had was that George is not an intelligent man; actually, he’s as dumb as a box of rocks, and no amount of teaching, coaching and guidance was going to change that.

By the time they gave up the effort, they had already recruited Amal Alamuddin to be the brain trust of the duo – which really didn’t matter because George was a switch hitter.

Amal Clooney’s curriculum vitae is very well-known as an international human rights lawyer with big time geopolitical connections.  Amal’s WEF, geopolitical and United Nations bonafide’s are very strong.

George Clooney is also extremely close friends with Barack Obama.  The Clooneys and the Obamas vacation together, hang together, network together, share the same ideological outlooks and are essentially the black and white version of each other; sans intellect. I digress.

The bottom line is that George Clooney doesn’t write an op ed in the New York Times telling Joe Biden to quit the race, unless it’s actually Barack Obama sending the message and Amal Clooney writing the text.   The Biden’s are very well aware of this..........more.........

Which party can do the least to fix America's troubled old-age welfare system?

As recently as 2016, the Republican Party's official platform promised to take seriously the approaching insolvency of Social Security and Medicare, America's two largest entitlement programs.

"We reject the old maxim that Social Security is the 'Third Rail' of American politics, deadly for anyone who would change it," that version of the GOP platform read. "The Democratic Party still treats it that way, even though everyone knows that its current course will lead to a financial and social disaster."

Back then, when the GOP still had some lingering muscle memory of advocating for fiscal responsibility, it was estimated that the federal government had about two decades to solve the approaching entitlement crisis.

Now, there is only a decade until Social Security hits a brick wall that will trigger automatic cuts to benefits (and even less time until parts of Medicare go over a cliff). Rather than facing that problem and proposing solutions, however, the Republican Party's newly adopted platform embraces the plan that the old GOP criticized eight years ago: Do nothing and wait for the consequences to arrive.

In the new platform, released Monday, the Republican Party says it will "not cut one penny" from Social Security or Medicare and will also oppose efforts to raise the retirement age.

Where those efforts might be coming from is unclear, since President Joe Biden also opposes changing the retirement age. It's actually a group of congressional Republicans who have put forth the most serious (though far from complete) plan to raise the retirement age—a plan that is very much in tension with the party's new platform.

Choosing to do nothing is still a choice. And we know exactly where the path that both Biden and Donald Trump have picked will end. When Social Security hits insolvency in the early 2030s, beneficiaries will see an automatic cut to their monthly checks. Right now, the trustees that run the program estimate that the cut will be 21 percent, with further cuts likely in future years if nothing changes. This is the outcome that the Republican Party's new platform promises to deliver.

Indeed, at last month's debate Trump and Biden both tried to blame the other for trying to change Social Security, while neither presented a workable plan to keep the program solvent or phase it out.

"[Trump] wants to get rid of Social Security; he thinks that there's plenty to cut in Social Security," Biden said when asked by CNN's Jake Tapper for a plan to address Social Security's fiscal problems. (Biden did reiterate his vague plan to make the wealthy pay more to prop up Social Security, though that's also insufficient on its own.)

Trump had even less of a plan. "Social Security, he's destroying it," the former president said, referring to Biden. "Because millions of people are pouring into our country, and they're putting them on to Social Security." (Illegal immigrants generally do not receive Social Security benefits.)

This whole spectacle is a little bit like having two fire chiefs arguing over who will do the least to put out a house fire—except it's even worse because they also agree to prohibit you from contracting with a private fire service.

By a crushing majority, the 17 judges of the International Court of Justice (ICJ) ruled more than five months ago that Israel was “plausibly” committing genocide in Gaza.

The highest court in the world put Israel on trial, accused of the ultimate crime against humanity.

Much has happened since that decision – and all of it is even more incriminating against Israel than the evidence considered by the World Court back in January.

Tens of thousands more Palestinian civilians are dead or missing, most likely under rubble. Gaza is now a wasteland, one that will take many decades to rebuild.

Till then, the population has nowhere to live, nor institutions such as hospitals, schools, universities and government offices to care for them, nor infrastructure like functioning electricity and sewage systems to rely on.

In violation of a second ICJ ruling, Israel has invaded and repeatedly bombed Rafah, a small “safe zone” into which Gaza’s population had been herded by Israel, supposedly for their own protection.

And Israel has intensified its blockade of aid, now to the point where there is famine across much of the enclave. Children, the sick and the vulnerable are dying in growing numbers from an entirely man-made catastrophe.

Presented with so much evidence, how is the World Court dealing with Israel’s genocide trial?
