shades of grey abound, though i'd lean a bit in favor of the russians. the way it plays here in the empire is: 'see that guy over there with the guns. give me your money and i'll protect you from him.';

 If you’re looking for morality tales — clashes between the clearly good and the clearly bad — I suggest you look elsewhere than to the geopolitical theater. There we find only conflicts between shades of darker gray.

This seems to have been the case throughout history. Empires and would-be empires vied with rival empires and would-be empires for territory, resources, taxpayers, and soldiers. No surprise: governments will be governments, and that’s not good. This is not to say the shades of gray did not differ at all, perhaps even significantly on occasion, but the objective was always, first and foremost, booty and control of people. The interests of commoners were rarely if ever the cause.

We see this in Russia’s war on Ukraine. Let’s be clear: Vladimir Putin and his Russian government freely chose to send military forces across the border into Ukraine. Their military personnel complied. They ultimately are responsible for their choices and therefore the death, injury, and mayhem that is taking place. A BBC interview is making the rounds today among opponents of western interventionism in Syria. The subject of the interview, Admiral Alan West, voiced some much needed skepticism about the establishment narrative around the alleged gas attack in Douma. Everybody’s talking about it because West is an empire loyalist that nobody in their right mind would accuse of being an “Assad apologist” or “useful idiot of the Kremlin”, as anyone else who doesn’t swallow the official story hook, line and sinker is uniformly labeled.

West made some sensible comments about the White Helmets and the fact that Jaysh al-Islam had far more incentive to stage such an attack than Assad had to perpetrate it. Even more helpful was his personal account of having been aggressively pressured to make false reports about the success of the British bombing campaign in Bosnia, suggesting that those pressures can lead to bad intelligence and erroneous military responses.

“I just wonder, you know we’ve had some bad experiences on intelligence,” West said. “When I was chief of defense intelligence, I had huge pressure put on me politically to try and say that our bombing campaign in Bosnia was achieving all sorts of things which it wasn’t. I was put under huge pressure, so I know the things that can happen with intelligence.”

Since I posted the article on March 30 about Pippa Malmgren’s bombshell statement at the World Government Summit on the coming global digital money system, I have been inundated with emails from worried readers.

They want to know what they should do to protect their assets in the face of such a dramatic change.

I have not been able to respond to all these emails so I will respond here. Ideally, these emails should be directed to your representatives in Congress, who actually have the ability to stop or slow down the rush toward a digital currency.

But instead, our senators and representatives, even those on the House and Senate banking and financial oversight committees, have remained silent on this issue.

I am not a professional investment adviser, so take this for what it’s worth.

• Get out of debt.
• Get large holdings of cash out of the banking system and only keep as much in there that you need to pay bills. In other words, do not use the banking system as a warehouse for your life’s savings.
• Invest in hard assets that you can see and touch such as land, houses and precious metals, storable food, a good water purification system.
• If there are any big ticket or even smaller items that you know you will need a year or two down the road, consider making those purchases now. Whether it’s a new vehicle or a pair of shoes, if you have the means to purchase those items now, then do it.
• Start preparing now for a life off the grid without your cellphone.
• Stop giving your money to useless Washington politicians just because some other useless politician told you to support them.

It should be evident by now that politicians are quickly becoming obsolete. They do not address key issues and don’t even like to talk about them until it’s too late. Even if they mean well and make nice-sounding promises, their authority has been neutered..........read more............

It’s impossible to overstate how completely blanketed by propaganda distortion the Ukraine war is. US spooks saying they’re leaking disinfo to the press, Ukrainian war propaganda, the blackout on Ukrainian losses, the uncritical media acceptance of allegations against Russia, etc. This war is a propaganda campaign wrapped in a psyop.

There are only two possibilities: you either (A) accept the fact that the information ecosystem around this war is too polluted to know very much of anything for certain and adjust your perceptions accordingly, or (B) you believe false things about this war. That’s it.

Propaganda only works on people who don’t know they’re being propagandized. If you’re acutely aware that a historically unprecedented effort is going into manipulating your understanding of what’s happening in a strategically crucial war in the digital age, you’re more grounded.

And of course the propaganda cuts both ways. Obviously it does. Uncritically believing Russia-aligned sources about this war is just as sure to give you an inaccurate picture of events as uncritically believing US/NATO/Ukraine-aligned sources (i.e. all mass media).
