On Monday Republican Senator Tim Scott announced he will not vote to confirm Judge Ketanji Brown Jackson to the Supreme Court.

"The historic nature of Judge Jackson’s nomination reinforces the progress our country has made. However, ideology must be the determining factor—not identity—when considering such an important lifetime appointment," Scott released in a statement. "It is clear that Judge Jackson’s judicial philosophy and positions on the defining issues of our time make her the wrong choice for the Supreme Court. From leaving the door open on court packing to her multiple overturned opinions, I cannot support a nominee with her record of judicial activism. I remain disappointed that President Biden missed the opportunity to unite the country with a mainstream nominee that could have received resounding bipartisan support. British politician and broadcaster George Galloway has made headlines in the UK with his threat to press legal action against Twitter for designating his account “Russia state-affiliated media”, a label which will now show up under his name every time he posts anything on the platform.

“Dear @TwitterSupport I am not ‘Russian State Affiliated media’,” reads a viral tweet by Galloway. “I work for NO Russian media. I have 400,000 followers. I’m the leader of a British political party and spent nearly 30 years in the British parliament. If you do not remove this designation I will take legal action.”

Galloway argues that while his broadcasts have previously been aired by Russian state media outlets RT and Sputnik, because those outlets have been shut down in the UK by Ofcom and by European Union sanctions he can no longer be platformed by them even if he wants to. If you accept this argument, then it looks like Twitter is essentially using the “state-affiliated media” designation as a marker of who Galloway is as a person, rather than as a marker of what he actually does.........read and tweet more.......

His specific point was that any country that invades another country must not be allowed veto power in the United Nations. [On April 5] several dozen active NATO officers were surrounded in Mariupol.

During the ongoing assault on Mariupol, several dozen active officers of NATO and European countries, who are not officially present on the territory of Ukraine, fell into a dense encirclement. As it turned out, among the surrounded officers are soldiers from France, Germany, Great Britain, Poland, the USA and Sweden (not a NATO member – ed.).

At the moment, it is known that we are talking about more than 20 foreign officers, however, the circumstances of the latter’s stay in Mariupol remain undisclosed to the end. This raises a number of questions about whether the officers were sent by NATO specifically to assist the Ukrainian Armed Forces and the nationalists.

As the Avia.pro information and news agency managed to find out, a group of NATO officers is completely blocked at one of the sites of the AzovStal enterprise. At the same time, it is known about several attempts to negotiate with foreign military, however, what exactly the negotiations ended with remains unknown.

A few hours ago, NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg announced that NATO troops would not be sent to Ukraine, however, the head of the North Atlantic Alliance did not comment on the current situation.

 the empire speaks all the time about its 'principles' and its 'rules based order' in which the rules are made by the empire and subject to change at every moment, and they are, essentially saying: these are my principles and if you don't like them, we have others. the rules change depending on who and what is being presented to us. israel, syria, iraq, vietnam, afghanistan and so on. the empire has no introspection and it sometimes seems that most of its citizens don't either.
